So I want an M27If I decide to go a little cheaper and go the brownells BRN-4 route, I can have an entire (pretty close) clone for under 2k, this is with the upper group, m27 profile barrel w/bayo lug, and their m27 handguard. It won’t be one for one but pretty damn close and I get a whole extra barrel out of it. The downside is that it’s all brownells.I could also go HK but their uppers go for about 2k as is and I’d have to get a new handguard anyway, bayo lug, and if it’s the A4 the barrel profile will be off (and not chrome lined but apparently HK barrels are magic or some shit) and the upper looks a little off without the 416 hump. Can we talk about how cheap "ambi everything" builds are worse than just throwing an ambi safety on your mil-spec lower 90% of the time?I'm not talking about factory-ambi lowers with a modicum of thought put into their design like the KAC, LMT, other "good" ambi lowers (I'll let you decide if you have a good one for yourself), with good fencing and control surface placement.Like left or right handed, a magpul ESK is like $40 and can be configured not to fuck up your grip while using it, just throw it on.But ambi mag releases? Lefties only (imo), and even then you can just mash the stock release with your thumb to yank out your old mag. No fencing around one side of your mag release on the side that goes against your body for righties is not ideal.Ambi bolt catches? However, at night when you're 25-50 yards away are aiming at a reduced size steel target that you can barely distinguish from the berm behind it and can't tell if you're aiming at the shadow of a piece of steel or the steel itself the huge ring just gets in the way and takes up a lot of space in what is an already reduced toilet paper tube tier field of view. The physical dial on the T2 is also much easier to adjust in varying light conditions when you are wearing gloves because it's 6pm in january. I also find that the T2 is much easier to target focus with whereas I have a hard time not staring at the huge fuzzy reticle of the EOtech. This part is definitely subjective but to my eye the T2 also looks better magnified. An added benefit of the T2 is that if you decide to do a different build the T2 can be offset or piggybacked on other optics

Can resale project is going well. Material cost for cerakote, PLA, magnets etc was like $70 total. Used up some brass brushes. Obviously this took hours of labor, but hopefully getting the cans into this condition nets an addition $100 or so per can. More an exercise in the hobby and learning stuff than outright profit. I mean hell, I'm eating $800 in stamps alone. Alas.
