>ban on "Assault Firearm Style" guns>ban on any magazine over 15 rounds>11% tax on all firearms and ammoI'm fucking fucked bros. It's over. The faggot dems passed their bill. Time to dump some money before July 1st.
>>64967350>>11% tax on all firearms and ammoWhere is this at?
>>64967350>>64967361Colorado?
>>64967365Virginia, pretty sure. They just passed an assault weapons ban.
>>64967361>>64967365Virgin-ia. Demoshits got their power and are going wild. They also want to tax walking your dog and vehicle repair.
>>64967411How on earth do you tax dog walking?
>>64967411Im in Colorado and Im unironically going to buy something stupid like a Tavor, Aug, piston AR or 5.56 AK just because it might be my last chance. This is all top down btw, the marching orders to ruin America on purpose never stopped coming through. Now is the time to really get a decent carbine set up and a solid pistol
>>64967169>I don't mind her face, it's her voice that's disgustingI'm pleased to report that I've never heard her voice.
>>64967453idk, ask the enlightened left

>>64968130
>>64968150taxing someone for paying someone to walk their dog is even more retarded
>>64968157And I bet you'd complain if they introduced a tax on paying someone to fuck your wife.
>>64968167And I bet you'd rush to their defense, dumbass. Notice how this faggot doesn't even regard the extra taxation on vehicle repair because he knows the adults he hangs out with wouldn't stand for it. Thus, he acts like he's a political analyst for specifying the tax is on dog-walkers and groomers and not just ANYONE walking a dog.
Krinks shit or good enough?
>>64968181I would fix my own car, walk my own dog, and fuck my own wife because I'm not a retarded faggot like you. Someone's gotta pay taxes unless we're all going to agree that anarchy is the way to go, and who better to pay them than cucks like you with enough money to spare that you'll pay someone to live your life for you?
new gun
>>64968203>I would fix my own carhahahaha yeah ok fag bro I'm sure you've never had to get your car serviced. New windshield, wheel alignment, nah, you got this bro! Just keep in mind the proposed taxes on things like house repair as well, so when you do a massive garage renovation in order to rebuild truck engines like a badass, that could cost even more than you thought. Just keep making excuses for the government to tax people. Taxes on dog-walking, prepared food, and literally everything firearms related is just what stupid citizens deserve. Got anything else retarded and contrarian to say?
>>64968223Stop arguing with redditors
>>64968223Yeah, okay, I'd pay the extra dollar on top of having someone replace my windshield, I've done it before and it's a pain in the dick. I did pay for an alignment once when I was young and stupid and the fuckers charged me a hundred bucks to adjust the toe and leave everything else out of spec; I can do the same job in my garage faster than it takes to drive to the nearest tire shop.
Can we have some AKs whilst you faggots argue over this faggotry?

>>64968206>wow cool anon what do you think of itI'm glad you asked anon instead of arguing about gay faggot shitInitial impressions really fucking good, it is definitely heavy but so is any AK after you stick a quad rail on it, decent trigger, feels super smooth, love how it all fits together makes me think maybe russians are retarded? Few minor modifications and you've got a vastly ergonomically superior rifle that can take whatever modern stuff you need to put on it. Unfortunately KNS is out of plastic delete kits but I got some extra magpul mags to hold me over. Can't wait to go shoot it, I think I might suppress it and make it an SBR

I've finally got the money together to get the ak pistol I've been itching for and m92s are out of stock everywhere and dracos are up to 1000 bucks (wtf?). What I do?
>>64969471I noticed that too, either extremely high pricing or out of stock. I wonder if there's something behind it. Sorta feels like it's not even worth it at this price point.
>>64969553No way I'm paying 1000 bucks for a draco. I was fine with it for 7/8 but I feel like it shot up in just the last month or 2, so I figured I'd do the zpap but I can't find them anywhere. I'm wondering what's going on too, I don't think I've seen anything like this before but it's my first time getting an ak.
>>64969553>>64969569Feel like I might as well just save up another 500 and get an arsenal at this point
>>64968120You like a La Creatura with a mans voice. lol (lmao)
>>64969569>>64969585Yeah I get that. Honestly at this point I've considered just going to an AR pistol instead. The price of the AK pistols and the CPR of 7.62x39 just seems like a headache at this point. Of course I decided to buy an entire furniture set and brace before I got the Draco I was thinking about. I think at that time I was just itching for something new and in my mind that was a way to get there faster. I ended up getting a KR 103 instead, I figured that was the more urgent purchase between the two based on availability. I could keep the furniture for the 103 however I just want to keep that one as is with the PO 3.5x21P I have on it. I'm thinking about selling the furniture and brace and keeping the PDS-1, Klesch 2U light and Dolg sling and just doing a "captured" themed 10.3' AR and putting those items on it. Little bit of a predicament.
>>64969850I thought kusa were junk? How's yours?
>>64970069Mine has been really good, I enjoy it a lot. There was another anon in the previous thread that seemed to have a poor experience with theirs, so take that for what its worth. Mine was a pretty low serial number as well, I know there were reports of QC issues towards the end of production. I guess as with any firearm it doesn't hurt to inspect it the best you can before accepting the transfer.
>>64970128It's funny they were only around for a hot minute it feels like. I remember people getting excited at the prospect of an actual decent us made ak but it seems like it only took 5 years for them to go out of business

>>64972762I like the furniture but the receiver is hideous.
I want a second Beryl to do dumb FRT stuff to. I don't wanna do that to my main rifle. But no, the Poles had to be dipshits and adopt a new, horrible rifle. Still confused why they felt compelled to make the Grot.

>>64974172What? You don't like a fed plant la creatura with a mans voice?
My partial NAK9 kit gets in tomorrow so I did some preparatory work. Pic rel is a mockup using a spare receiver. I carved a type 2 grip and messed around with a PPS-43 magwell. The AKV carrier seems like it will work but I still have to fabricate the ejector because the NAK9 uses a bolt on ejector that probably wont fit the AKV bolt carrier. My nak-9 kit has a virgin under folder trunnion but I don't think my press press is up to the task of boring out that bigass hole. Might thread it for a 1913 adapter or do a trunnion swap for a proper underorder trunnion IDK.
Go-to x39 ammo at this point?
>>64974364Not sure if my PPS-43 mag plan will work. There are two Nak 9s AFAIK. One is single feed for Glock mags and the other is double feed for Skorpion mags. >>64972751>556 AK vs a short stroke piston gunAK has high height over bore, weird thread pitch, you need rails to start mounting accessories, doesn't take ar mags, grips, or triggers and will probably have worse accuracy
>>64972751>AK peculiarities (right side charging, rock-and-lock mags) if you're not used to it>mags either expensive or unreliable>weird thread pitch unless you build it yourself>high height over bore for optics>needs a lot of "extras" in rails, mounts etc to use gadgets like lights/LAMs or even optics>nowhere near as good of triggers vs. other options>guns themselves are finnicky and sometimes unsafe (avoid 5.56 PSAs and anything from Pioneer)If you must have a Kalashnikov action with a 5.56 chamber, get a Galil ACE or a Zastava M90. They're the least annoying options from a consumer perspective. Or just get a BREN 2 or a Mini-14 or something. AKs are in a bad spot currently in the US.

WBP 545 or RAK74? Where to get AK74 no meme answers like dead caliber.
>>64981392>where to get AK74Look for a SAR 2 first. Then at Bulgarian kit builds, then at unconverted Saigas, then at converted Saigas and old Arsenal imports, then at Veprs, then at Galil ACEs, then at WBP, then Riley, then shooting yourself, then PSA.Descending order from best option to worst currently.Riley still has many issues with unsafe parts via metallurgy or heat treat issues, they're a gamble I'm not personally willing to take. The cost to repair your face and hands is much more than the difference in price between a rape-price NOS SLR104 and an off-the-shelf RAK74.
>>64969189I don't think you realize how much of your taxpayer dollars are completely squandered.
>>64967350Be happy you won't be getting serialized ammo unlike IL
>>64981647I do know how many of my tax dollars are squandered, which is why I fully support moving as much of the tax burden as possible onto the sort of people that pay to have someone else walk their dog.
>>64980191>Ar fags have no right to bitchhe literally asked what the disadvantages of a 556 ak vs a short stroke and i answered. I own more 556 aks than ars
My Bulgarian Circle 10 5.45 has a little more recoil than my PSA AK101 5.56.Tula 5.45 vs Lake City M193. Same 74 muzzle brakes and 74 wood fixed stocks and iron sights. Same Tula plum mags. I think Lake City 5.56 should be hotter than shitty Tula 5.45 so maybe the PSA has a little less gas?
>>64982187only thing I can think of that would cause that would be the gas port size. Its fairly common for military production line rifles to have larger gas ports in order to improve reliability. Maybe the Bulgarian recoil spring is worn out.
>>64982201I bet you're right I didn't think of those thanks
SKSs are kinda like AKs so I figured this would be the best place to ask. I got a very cheap type 56 the other day, but either the importer or bubba went and ground off the lugs. From my understanding you need to replace the whole FSB if I wanted to put a bayonet on there again. When I was looking around for people selling them I could only find the yugo style and those look substantially different. Would they still fit?
>>64982804>Would they still fit?No, and from looking around, it seems all the old Chink SKS FSBs have dried up. You're probably going to have to get a complete barrel and cannibalize the components you need and sell the rest to recoup some of the cost. gl
>>64982922Knew it wasn't going to be that easy. On the upside I found a complete barreled and reciver for like 210 so that's not horrible I guess.
>>64982926I saw one on Ebay for like $110, so shop around a little.
>>64981214Imma need that patch chief. I had one a long time ago and lost it. Didn't even have an AK then.. do now, need patch again.
>>64977520I really like mine too.
>>64983258Great pic, good looking gun. IMO the M85s are solid guns. Not my favorite in terms of historical cloning etc, but if you want a quality 5.56 AK to actually shoot and use, they're one of the best choices IMO. >>64982804Good luck
>>64982926You may be able to find one off of a crime gun parts kit if you look around, lots of Chink SKSes were sold for cheap so there were a lot of them in the ghetto in the 90s. Check evergunpart or Gunbusters on GB.They'll just have the receiver chopped or pulled so you can cannibalize the fsb off of the barrel. There's one exactly as I described on GB right now with an intact bayo lug. They were pressed on originally iirc so ymmv on a reinstall.
>>64979358I think it's a PSL stock but I'm not sure of the difference between the two. I wouldn't be surprised if they were the same honestly
Have you guy ever been called a commie for using an AK in real life?>>64983300SKS optic mount? Is it co-witness?
>>64983497>have you ever been called a commie for using an AK.No. I know the kind of person who you would assume would say that, my grandpa. I showed it to him and he got really excited and asked if he could shoot it the next time we go to the range. He said he never got a chance to and wanted to ever since Vietnam. His deployment during the war was to Germany so he never got to do the cool shit.
>>64983300Completely agree. It is the softest shooting rifle I own when I use this Jmac 360 brake + blast forwarding device. When I suppress it, it's pretty much unbearable to shoot.
>>64981453Okay I only shoot say a 1000 rounds a year is the WBP fine? I’d just prefer a 90 degree gas block on my 74.
>>64983571i think i definitely would have gotten an M85 instead of a 92 if i got it today instead of years ago when the bulged models were newer. Oh well. I have an M70, M90, and 92 so i am happy. Got the M90 like new for 700 dollars. Almost got a damn M77 for mega cheap but that deal fell through.
>>64983766It'll be fine for shooting and looking the part, but it's not a 74 if that matters to you on internals.WBP 5.45 and 5.56 guns are a proprietary pattern derived from the AKM tdp, not based on the AK74. Some parts interchange (like firing pins iirc), most don't.
fuckin whythis is worse than AR fans paying hundreds for minuscule KAC parts
>>64984502>whyIt's econ 101when -product- is too expensive, market demand changes to alternate goodsThis is the alternate goods. Genuine surp drums are like $500+ from primary market sources like Atlantic and AoA, so the market that wants drums will simply shop for whatever closest fits that demand, which in this case is shitty counterfeit drums from Pakistan.
>>64984522i think the price would be stupid even if every other AK drum mag was erased from Earth. It holds as much ammo as a damn 10/22 banana mag lmao
>>64984573And there we enter the idea of a cargo cultPeople buy things for the appearance, not the function. It's why counterfeit goods are the way they are. Whether the goods be Abibas tracksuits, Mike tennis shoes or third world AK mag fakes. If you can find something that looks like an AK drum mag, can feed some amount of ammunition, and costs less than that, be my guest to get into that market share, since it clearly exists or those mags would still be sitting in whatever gun shop in Peshawar they got them from.
>>64970228you could get some boomer to pay you like 10k+ for this i bet
>>64967350>>64967411>>64967379>>64967455Shouldnt have been a passive idiot then. Bet you never talked about it irl or voted locally. Either way they're just doing what you're too embarrassed to do.>>64968272So far things are better than ever but there's still a lot of bad stuff that got passed in some states. That can always be vetood though. If you're not a useless lazy slob. Texas got Herrera for example.
Started work on my gunsmith special NAK9. I cut down an AKM gas tube to fit. After cutting it, I got it red hot with a blowtorch and rammed a punch through in order to flare out the indentations. The PSA AKV carrier works so far. I might have to file the rails a bit because its sticky at points. Also It looks like I won't be able to use double stack SMG mags like I wanted to. The feed ramp on the chamber is narrow for Glock mags. I don't feel like pressing the barrel out widen the feed ramp via grinding.
Also discovered a new problem: the NAK9 must use a hinged dust cover, its missing the section of the rear sight that keeps a fixed dust cover secure.I'll probably fabricate a hinge out of sheet metal and then weld/rivet it to a spare dust cover. Not how I'm going to recreate the dust cover picatinny rail. The original NAK9 uses a high density polymer rail that is screwed into hinge. That's fucking gross IMO but at the same time, long steel picatinny rail sections are kind of expensive (the 17 slot I bought from HK parts was over $100 I think)I would greatly appreciate anyone who has alterative sources for long steel pic rail sections
In total this project has cost me less than $300>$170 for the aborted pistol>$100 for the AKV bolt carrier

This or the JTS M12AK?
>>64989221>Vepr 12If you're poor, just get a mossberg.
>>64989221I like my JTS M12AK. I have no experience with the Panzer AK's though. I made my hinged dust cover yesterday. I used my CETME bending jig to make the curve so that it will hug the contour of the dust cover. In order to keep costs down I'm going to drill and tap for an aluminum shotgun rail even though I made a stink about doing that earlier. I can get a 4 inch aluminum rail for like $10.
Here it is after I ground down the welds and re-parkerized it. I don't like how the NAK9 dust cover looks with the part that comes down in front of the charging handle so I left that part out. Besides that I think it looks pretty close to the OG
>>64982926You might be able to steal a FSB off a 56 AK. Those have the same lug to my knowledge and I think the sights are pretty similar.
>>64990703>>64982926Yeah you might be able to chop it in half. There are plenty of reproduction Type 56 AK/polymer front sights available. If that anon is interested I can take the journal dimensions on my Type 56 SKS. It honestly might be easier to cut the hinge off of a reproduction block and weld it onto the rifle. That's what people used to do with ban era AKs.
>>64990686Oh shit, that turned out pretty good.Interested in how you're gonna do the magwell.>Still think you should just Gepard it, as the magwell is the grip. But you seem a lot more mechanically inclined than I am, so I'm curious how you solve it.
>>64990754>Oh shit, that turned out pretty good.>Interested in how you're gonna do the magwell.Thanks. I still haven't made up my mind yet. I do have a spare P80 frame that I could chop up. I could weld lugs onto the metal inserts in order to make it lock up with the front trunnion and mag latch. I did try to make a PPS-43 magwell but it was ugly and I probably wouldn't be able to use it anyways because of the NAK9 single feed ramps.
>>64990747*poly-mak not polymer
>>64989221The JTS12 is made in China, so it's at least made by a country that can make an AK.Panzer Arms is Turkish. Avoid Turkshit guns on principle, they're made with subpar metal and the US market ones are often QC rejects (the good ones stay local). Fingers are more expensive to replace than any price difference between 2 guns.Buy the JTS12 if you must get an AK shotgun, but "just buy a mossberg" guy is right. You'd enjoy shooting it far more.
>>64990847>I did try to make a PPS-43 magwell but it was uglyYou could always refine it after getting it to work.>I probably wouldn't be able to use it anyways because of the NAK9 single feed rampsThere is that. Have you tried to built a "glock mag" magwell for it yet?

>>64991307>Does the jts take saiga mags?yes>would the jts be more fun if I sbs it?don't know yet. I've been waiting for 2 months on my form 1>>64991049The glock mag spring is a lot more difficult to fit. I'll figure things out once I have more time
>>64966725Jawstatus?
>>64991307>would the jts be more fun if I sbs it?Compared to the Panzer shotgun? Yea, on the fact that it won't beat itself to death and won't require new paperwork for a second one near as fast (and has a far lower risk of a hospital trip).Compared to ANY semiauto shotgun? Subjective, but box mag shotguns are easier to SBS and get the same amount of fun out of vs. tube mag shotguns IMO. If your main goal is an SBS I'd say go for it.>>64991393You could try STEN mags as well since they're single feed and somewhat plentiful still>rear rivet pattern is the same as the sidefolder trunnionInteresting.
any idea why my yugo is jamming? It seems picky with mags, one ran clean but a couple other (surp yugo mags) had a couple jams like picrel.
>>64991619There's probably just a tolerance issue on those mags specifically. If you own/can access another AK, try to run them in it and see if they give the same problems; if they do run in that other AK, the issue is tolerance stacking. If you really want, identify which mags specifically do it and use a set of calipers to measure exact lengths from the lugs to the feed lips and feed lips to the follower vs. the mags that don't cause bolt drag, it's probably a few thousandths off from your gun's allowed tolerance somewhere. Some AKs just won't like some mags, it's the nature of interchangeable parts.
>>64991619What type of mag you are using? Mine only had like a failure to feed from a shitty worst korea mag once, same mag also caused my riley defense the same malfunction.
>>64991393>The glock mag spring is a lot more difficult to fit.The mag catch spring? Just copy their magwell and slap it on the outside. But again, I'm a terrible engineer so I'm sure you have a better grasp on its functionality than I do.
are these mags any good?
>>64991715>slap it on the outside.I actually hadn't thought of that lol
Are there any 10-12 inch arsenal guns still in production? All I can really find are the 8.5 inch 77k's and then the full size stuff. Might just go with the 77k. Anything I need to watch out for with arsenal?
>>64995277Arsenal says they offer the SAM7C exclusively through K-var, who list it as out of stock; it's not listed as a legacy model, so assumedly they're planning on making more. It wouldn't be worth the thousand dollar plus markup over a Draco either way if that particular configuration of AK is what you're after.>anything I need to watch out forThe only concern with Arsenal milled guns that I'm aware of is the trigger shoe snapping off, but that seems like it was a coof-era issue that's largely resolved itself (and is like a 5 minute and $50 fix if it does still happen).Any other "issue" is just something like "I paid nearly 2 grand for a gun that doesn't have better QC than a WASR/Draco."
Just ordered everything I need to clone the MW2 AK today. I couldnt resist after preordering the spetsnaz gorka

So guys I live in the rural area in sw virginia and have mostly used family guns and family firearms. We dont have any guns like ars or aks or anything but with laws changing I was considering getting some guns to get grandfathered in.Any suggestions? I posted in AR thread as well. Trying to figure out things. Any help is awesome.

>>64966725I got a izhmash 2003 saiga12 converted by legion usa.barely used i picked it up for about 750. some gun store guys tell me its a steal. What you guys think?I want a laser/light on it for if/when wife needs to use it in self defense and a good sight. All i bought so far is a gk-03 muzzle break and a russian 3 point sling.I really want russian made parts or stuff the russians usually use on it.any recommendations?anyone put a salvo12 on this thing, seems fun.
>>64997265Buy a S&W LEO trade in M&P 15 sport. AKs are enthusiasts purchases. What you want is a a practical rifle.

>>64996604Yeah I was planning on getting a draco, but they're listed at 1000+ everywhere I look which seems ridiculous. So at that point I figured I might as well just go ahead and get the arsenal and not look back.

If you like it (sans GK-03), buy a choke set or at least a Mod choke. Also if you're not dead set on rock n lock Saiga mags, consider sourcing a magwell. >>64997711you could just wait™ they will probably go back down at some pointhonestly I probably would have gotten a ZPAP92 if I could have found one in stock my M70 is a much nicer gun
>>64997731I am waiting, but if I have the money together for an arsenal, why not?
>>64997736>why notThe difference in price can buy you mags and a good bit of ammo insteadThat's the only argument against buying more expensive versions of guns I can realistically come up with.
>>64997757Yeah I'm gonna hold out a bit and see what happens, if I can get a draco for 700 id sooner do that. But I do really like the fit/finish on the arsenals compared to the zpaps and dracos I've seen. The ammo thing is definitely a factor though, as it's a whole new caliber I have to stock. Was almost thinking about a pcc instead because of that.
>>64993188I went through the archives and people say they are shit and others say they are good
>>64997899>Yeah I'm gonna hold out a bit and see what happensNot the anon you've been talking to but I would hit up your local gun stores/pawnshops. I saw Dracos for $700 a few weeks ago in the Midwest. Arsenal/KVAR is not worth the extra money at all IMO. The extra price of Arsenal guns is mostly due to the limited supply (which is manipulated by their US exclusive importer KVAR) not some fundamental quality difference>>64997428> i picked it up for about 750.practically stole the thing. My local cabelas has them listed for 2-3k. >I really want russian made parts or stuff the russians usually use on it.any recommendations? You're too late for the real Russian/Belorussian stuff but that's okay because its not very good for its Western price anyways. If I were you I'd look into the SMS combo laser/light unit. For $200 you can get a visible/IR laser + light combo. >>64997502>Is that site a scam or are companies using the Hormuz shit as an excuse to take forever on shipping?naw they're just slow. >>64967950Where can I get that muzzle break?
>>64991674>>64991678surplus yugo mags. only one came with the gun, it was still covered in cosmoline so I assume never specifically tested but that one has not given me any trouble.I have three other (also yugo surplus) mags from PSA that are giving me trouble - two I had to file to rock in without excessive force. But even the one I didn't file had a couple jams on an empty case like my pic. I should also mention this is my first AK (yugo m72) and a kit build (by AOA). Pretty much the worst possible starting point I know.
>>64997265What >>64997476 said, if not exactly that an AR of some sort. I think the vast majority of people that got into the AKM platform did so years ago and sourcing parts, ammunition, etc was a lot easier then. I don't think it's worth it in 2026, especially as a first firearm. They're more of a novel item than a practical one. Plus .223/5.56 is plentiful in this hemisphere, the CPR is always going to be better than 7.62, 5.45.>>64997428Congrats anon that's a really good deal. Take care of it and never sell it.>>64997533I think we were talking about the price jump either earlier in this thread or the last one. Honestly I've been looking at those Daniel Defense DDM4 V7P's, those are going for like ~1200 on gun deals. AKM stuff has had very discouraging pricing lately. I have a complete new furniture set as well that I was planning for a Draco but idk. Maybe I'll sell it or do something with it.
>>64998940>from PSAThere's a non-zero chance they're actually newly-made commercial Croatian mags that frequently have issues FYI; Croatian mags are Yugo pattern in every way by reason of "Croatia was part of Yugoslavia until 1991" and PSA is a scummy company that frequently has incorrect listings (either in name/description or what product entirely) on their site and says tough shit if you get got by it, so ymmv.Get a few other mags and compare, or a friend with an AK and do some function checking between his gun and your mags. AoA has Polish refurbs for $14/per (on sale, normally $19), grade 3 "functional but rusty" Romanians for $10/per or grade 3 Polish for $15/per. Apex has mixed "good with rust spots" Euro mags for $17/per.Where did you have to file on them? Just the rear lug or did you have to take material off of the front too? It could be a case of the front lug being slightly too long or your mag catch being too long, especially if they're new or NOS mags.

Did my dust cover rail yesterday. I found a Ruger 10/22 rail for $8 on amazon and then filed the groove until it fit the dust cover. Its ugly as fuck but at least its better than the polymer rail on the OG NAK-9Going to have to refinish it again because there's a spot where the phosphate didn't adhere well. >>65001053>improve
>>64998999I should mention yeah they were sold as "yugo" mags but I have no way of confirming their exact provenance. They came in cosmoline and seemed lightly used. All 3 from PSA have the lrbho follower, 2 have the m64 style notch cutout, 1 had no notch but has the initials "PR" stamped below the feed lip on one side. The PR one I didnt file, the two m64 notched ones I filed down the top of the rear lugs only. And not an inconsiderable amount, probably a good 10th or 12th of an inch. I did notice that with my "good" mag the bottom of the feed lip plate is more-or-less parallel to the receiver. In fact the front lug seems to sit very slightly higher than the rear. Where as the "bad" mags seem to have a tilt in the opposite direction, having the rear lugs sit slightly higher (picrel).Sounds like I should have maybe filed the front lug instead? oops. define gonna get a couple other mags to try. Thanks for the feedback
>>65001173Are they the Croatian mags with the maple leaf on the bottom? If so then those are commerical BHO mags which work slightly better than ProMags do.
>>65001173>>65001177Judging from the finish on the metal of the top one that is exactly what I think it is.I've got a few, some work some don't. The ones that don't I use as beer bottle openers.

>>65001188mang i'd be happy to go back to fuckin 2018 compared to this shite
>>65001177>>65001187no obvious maple leaf stamp. They are all pretty minimally marked. The "good" mag (1st on left) has no markings whatsoever except from an electropencilled inventory number. The m64 notch mags have a stamp on the spine - one has "37" and one has "44". Then the last of the 3 PSA yugo mags has the PR initials.
Post bakes.
>>65001173You may want to delete this image since it has your gun's serial in it. Takes like 20 seconds max in mspaint to cover/scrub it for future. That angle on the mag looks like it's sticking up too high in the back, the feedlip reinforcement should be parallel to the receiver bottom.>filed down the topThat's the wrong side to file. The bottom of the lug is what interfaces with the mag catch. Not the end of the world, but they will wobble a bit and rattle more now.>>65001293>electropencilled inventory numberThat's real Yugo, JNA marked every part that could come off of a gun with the gun's serial and put inventory numbers on interchangeable parts like mags.I can't find anything about the PR stamp, that's really weird and I've never seen that before. The bottom of the rear lug appears to be the wrong angle on all of the PSA mags, take a file to it and make it meet the angle of the good one. This will address the lock-up and angle issues and (hopefully) the stovepiping.
>>65001518>it has your gun's serial in itNot him, but no it doesn't. It has the bolts serial, but since it's a kit built M72 the serial likely isn't going to be the same as the parts kit it was built from.>Nobody that could find you from a gun's serial gives a fuck, because they already know where you are
>>65001673>the serial likely isn't going to be the same as the parts kit it was built fromSince AoA did it with a premade receiver, yea fair enough; other times it is matched (usually on purpose by a shrewd builder), but in that case it most likely isn't.Still, I'd rather be overly cautious than not enough when it comes to that sort of thing.
>>65001319
>>65001684what the other guy said. new legal serial has no correlation to the original. thanks for the concern though.it would be truly terrible if someone ordered a pizza to my address. I would absolutely hate it if somebody ordered a large pepperoni pizza, 2x garlic sauce and 2L my dew to my house>should be parallel to the receiverI see. In retrospect that makes more sense, I was just trying to get them to click in. I'll see if any are salvageable. But yeah I think you're right, the one mag it came with has similar electropencilling as the gun. All the major parts have the original serial but several smaller parts have an electropencilled "batch number". I think AOA mentioned they didnt add those and that it was from the original factory/warehouse
>>65001759Good bakes
>>65001771>if any are salvageableIt should be fine, they'd just wobble and rattle like I said since the material that'd make them sit a bit tighter is now in part missing. Most AK mags have some degree of wobble and rattle anyway, it's no big deal.In guns (and machinery in general), when hand-fitting parts you always start at the interface point, leaving the other geometry as-is unless it shows itself as a glaring problem; just something to keep in mind in future if you keep on the AK train since everything is hand-fit to some degree with them.

Ended up making my own grip cap out of 20 gauge sheet metal. I can't stamp complex shapes so I used the score + fold method. The seams were welded after hammering to shape. Couldn't use an existing grip gap because I carved the grip out of a piece of laminate that was too thick. If I were to cut it thinner It would've ended up on a lamination line that wouldn't take stain well. In the end its fine because my hands are larger.

>>65011304>has no problemThe issue is never "does it run," it's "does it kaboom." How many rounds has your friend shot through his? Does he shoot frequently, or is he a "one or two times a year" shooter? Does he run a suppressor? What kind of ammo does he use?As far as we know as consumers, Century still uses cast bolts that WILL shear lugs and grenade in your hands with your oh-so-precious face and hands less than a foot from the explosive force with a lot of steel now made into shrapnel. The peace of mind and "not having to get fingers reattached or cosmetic surgery after a worst-case-scenario injury" is worth the price difference to spring for a WASR. Save money where you can, spend it where you must.Yes I'm fear mongering, but when the price difference is this little relatively speaking there's no reason to gamble on US made mystery meat vs. the imports with decades of experience making safe AKs with a considerable track record of US consumer anecdotes.

>>64966725Ok I got a question, I don't have an ak yet so I don't have a way of testing this but how much do handguard retainers heat up?I'll have a yugo soon but hate the default handguards they come with so I'll have someone 3D print them out of abs or petg or something like that (nobody's got access to nylon). Glowniggers fuck off that's legal where I live, handles are unregulated. I know most of the heat is directly from the barrel and gas tube so stainless heat shields on handguard and gas tube cover take care of that mostly but the plastic directly contacts the retainer and I'm now wondering if that's gonna melt it. I'm broke and can't afford enough ammo for mag dumping a truckload of it but would still like to have something reliable

>>65013253What are you trying to change about Yugo pattern handguards that you need to print it? There are polymer Yugo handguards "around" that might be what you're trying to accomplish.
>>65013920It's kinda impossible to find the aftermarket ones for sale around me, at least not for a reasonable price and even the ones I saw look dumb, printing them would give me the exact appearance I want and wouldn't cost that much
>>65001862OK sorry I lied, it had been a few weeks since I did the filing. I did in fact file the bottom edge of the rear lug on 2 of the 3 mags (the m64 notched ones). so that pic showing the feed lip stamping not-parallel to receiver was already after filing the bottom lug. The "PR" mag I should be able to get sitting similar to the "good" one. will report back how it goes with the other two.on a whim I ordered a NOS yugo extractor spring and an ALG recoil spring too. Figured since far as I know it still has the factory originals, surely they are worn out a bit. I did notice a little clunkiness/dragging on the bolt when returning forward over the hammer, wasn't sure how much was normal since it's my first AK. Should mention the FCG (hammer, trigger, FRT bits) are new US made (LBE). The edge of the "hump" on the hammer which the bolt rides over was starting to get peened, so I lightly sanded and polished the radius there. Now it returns smooth as butter. Not sure if that was related to my issues but it feels like an improvement.

>>65012556What optic is that?
>>65013994If you filed the bottom of the rear lug to fit already, do be mindful to not take off too much material. Be willing to do the front lug as well, but much less would be done on that vs. the rear for fit on most guns.Try the Polish mags before doing anything to your mag catch, and I'd try the Polish mags before messing with the front lug on the other Yugo ones too. It may just be you got extremely unlucky and bought 3 mags that are on the opposite end of the tolerance spec from your rifle. Sucks but it's part of manufacturing.>surely they are worn out a bitYou'd be surprised, a lot of Yugo surp never left the armory once it got cosmoline'd until it got sold and demilled. M72s weren't a high demand item during the war because they were more cumbersome and didn't offer that much more to justify that extra weight, so the kits that came in were (usually) in better overall condition compared to an M64/M70 kit because of it.

Using the pic rail already on it is the easiest option, literally just google "picatinny rail stocks" and shop around a bit.>buffer tube>trunnion swap (requires welding old holes and making new ones for rivets)>pulling the pic rail, drilling new screw holes for a stormwerkz/doublestar hinge and then whatever stock you can find that fits that hingeOff the top of my head for this hinge, doublestar makes a triangle stock and their Galil style tube stock, there's at least 1 buffer tube adapter for it somewhere, and Manticore Arms offers an attempt at a clone of the old Chinese sidefolder for this hinge too.
>>65016210I was thinking something like the CNC Warrior/bonesteel or a triangle stock. Who makes good triangle stocks that fit pic rails I saw one from a3 industries that I think might look ok
>>65016275I have the bonesteel brace version. it's pretty solid, tight lockup
>>64966725Why did her lips get so swollen after she started using braces?
>>65014869>>64999067Yeah bro just give up and run that seems to work :)>>64967350Try not being a demoralized bitch and actually engage with the system once in your life. Works for them. Although you're a lazy bum that won't even go out to vote so just continue wallow in your helplessness.
>>65016275They're all either plastic, ugly, don't fold or out of stock for triangles.>JMAC is JMAC, avoid on principle for hypebeast shit and absurd prices>Midwest is ugly and their hinge design is bad>A3 is plastic and ugly imo>Doublestar is OOS everywhere on all their picatinny stocks afaik>Rifle Dynamics doesn't fold unless you buy a separate $113 hinge from Samson to put it on, which makes it ugly because the adapter is smaller than the stock's endI'd go for the bonesteel/CNC Warrior stock personally, the others aren't worth the hassle for a frankly lazy attempt at the AKS-74 stock aesthetic.
>>65016337>A3 is plastic and ugly imothey have an aluminum version
>>65016337yea bonesteel is nice, I like the sig stocks too
>>65012717No lol. Not beta testing another American AK.
>>65016317It pushes them out because it's an 1/8th of an inch behind your lips?Wife is getting hers in her late 30s.
>>65016374Didn't know they had an aluminum one, but I still find it ugly after looking at them now. YMMV of course, but that hinge is very long in its design and it hurts the overall "lines.">>65017400I've had one of those sig "minimalist" (I think it's that one?) stocks since they were new, I bought it for a SAM7 pistol I never ended up getting. A cheek riser goes a long way for it IMO in usability and comfort.I've been rotating between guns it'll fit on, I like it. The hinge's finish is bad quality though, so watch for rust to form on it (the rest of the stock is aluminum, just the hinge is steel) if you live in a wet area.
>>65014869>just move and everything be betterer
>>65016321>actually engage with the system once in your lifei vote in every single election NIGGER
>>64977506>mini-14Why is the music on the Ruger product video so good?
>>64966725zup /akg/
>>65002689are these unobtanium in the US? i'd pay $300+ for one
>>65020812They're unobtainable everywhere.$300 won't even get you a ZenitCo stock, so I doubt a weird one off/prototype is gonna be less than 4 figures.
When turning a Draco into a SBR whats the deal with 922r compliance? If I fill out a form 1 and get it approved does that make it illegal? I read pistols don't have to comply but when turning it into a SBR it does...
Is it a good time to buy a AK? in 2015 or so I bought a WASR-10 at /ak/'s recommendation. And does Arsenal still make the best 5.45's?
>>65022689By the letter of the law you have to comply with 922r, but how easily can it be proven? It's effectively unenforceable to the point I have never seen or heard of it being enforced after importation of the firearm. If you really care, swap the trigger (3 parts) and either use US made mags (3 parts) or swap the furniture and muzzle.>>65022762>is it a good time to buy a AKNoRead any of this thread complaining about ammo prices and import bans. Ammo is a struggle, guns are a struggle outside of WASRs, the aftermarket is a struggle, surp is drying up or going elsewhere.>does Arsenal still make the best 5.45'sArsenal doesn't even sell 5.45 rifles in the US anymore. Check GB for used market prices, they're often $2500+ for a well-used SLR104.The stamped guns were imported from the Bulgarian side of the company, who are prioritizing Euro/mideast contracts instead of commercial sales. Arsenal US only makes milled 5.56 and 7.62x39 guns that are overpriced to fuck.
