Why no RXM ambi controls editionGuide:https://files.catbox.moe/9g5sv2.pdfPastebin: https://pastebin.com/gs6mLNikPrevious: >>65006817
First for God damned Siggers
I want it.
Bersa Thunder moment
>>65014143>Bersa Thunder momentAmmo brand?
Replaced the hideous Colt branded g10 grips. Although I’m not too sure I like these either
If you stopped being a cursed-by-God genetic freak you wouldn't want ambi controls.
>>65014177You're right, how dare my left eye be dominant. I should become an hero. Or gun companies should not box out 10% of the fucking population. One or the other.
When will Springfield bring back the XD-E but make it double stack
>>65014159oh i dont fuckin remember, probably winchester or federal or whatever. That pic is from over a year ago at this point lol i just saw it in my files and thought it was funni
>>65014175i do not care for vantablack finishes on guns
Hi /hg/, I finally got a holster for the Glock 19.6. It's kind of a darker olive color with brown pressure rings. I like it a lot!1/2
>>65014175Herrett grips is my favorite wood grips, I like the profile of the rail scale G10 grips a lot but they’re expensive. The golfball/gunner grips from VZ are very grippy
>>65014240And in the holster>Cutouts for optics>Fitted for Glock 19.6>Molded for Olight (lol) Baldr MiniSuper nice
>>65014240>pressure rings??? washers? congrats on the new holster tho
Any recommendation on a suppressor that looks the part for a Beretta 92FS? I went on Silencershop but everything looks too modern. I want a straight-up tube, maybe some knurling.
>>65014357Obsidian 9?
>>65014365Too fancy for me, especially the weird pill shaped cutouts
>>65014370YHM sidewinders pretty much a toob with minimal cutouts.
>>65014357Ecco tlx9
Do APXes stand out in any way besides being cheap and spaghetti?
>>65014383Nice, discontinued though but I'll look around. Also found Coastal Inc Ultima 9 but looks like it's discontinued as well>>65014400>in production>looks the part>they even use a 5906 for the modelThis was made for me
>>65014031Stop being left handed(I'm almost positive Magpul will drop an "enhanced" frame that takes the gen 4/5 mag release in the future) >>65014421They are stupid wide and oversprung, making them feel a little unwieldy to operate when you are racking it. I'm not a fan of them personally after having shot my brother's but they are fine otherwise, assuming you don't get a lemon
>>65014421The original ones look like Toblerone bars, which is fun.
>>65014031Why would you need any control ambi except a thumb safety where applicable? I don't get this gripe with leftoids. Like you STILL haven't learned to use your index finger to hit things after years of not having special snowflake buttons for your "disability?" When I use a paddle release I use my strong hand index finger intuitively, when I shoot a gun weak handed I use my index finger on the controls intuitively. And I don't even have the vestigial addled mutant hand gene. It's not hard. I get you can't reach a manual safety and that is necessary to be side-swapped, and I get when there's some mechanical issue like the gun ejecting back into your face or an oversized mag release button digs into your middle finger, but like just use your dang finger to hit the controls, they're right there. But 98% of the time a snaketongue complains about this it's a freaking striker pistol that doesn't matter at all. You've already had to learn to write differently so you don't smear ink. This is WAY less involved than thatFigure it out!>>65014143That looks like a Winchester moment to me lol>>65014357YHM and Bowers have some, SilencerCo still has some relatively greeble-less models and Lyman is coming out with a cheap one that is knurled the whole length. It's unfortunate, I like the straight tube as well. The spacewars nonsense all trying to outdo one another with added machine time looks silly to me, and they're only getting worse with 3D printing
>>65014435https://yhm.net/9mm-suppressors/9mm-sidewinder-m2-suppressor/M2 version should be available I got one just last year unless they already stopped making them.
Why shouldn't I get an Echelon Compact?>what are you going to use it forCarry
>>65014537I like an ambi selector on my carry in case I start out with a fucked right hand.
Southpaw BULLS literally RUN THIS SHIT. Every modern pistol now caters to us. The Southpaw Anti-Defamation League has successfully lobbied gun manufacturers to include ambi controls, and we will boycott into complete submission any company that does not abide by our capricious desires. We WILL continue to inconvenience every dextroid by forcing him to deal with ambi controls. We WILL continue to suppress the adoption of bullpups. Your favorite gun? Well, we were promised it would include ambi controls 3000 years ago. Sorry, bucko.
>>65014587Thats fine but we still make you swap out the mag release to the wrong side.
>>65014587As a lefty, I’m anti-ambi controls, too many points to fiddle with and accidentally actuate, I prefer minimal controls so I can get more control of the gun.
The RXM is just a glock...
>>65014593AAAARGHHHHH
>>65014587tbqhwu I think ti's almost entirely because of catering to tactical larperators who want to pretend their arm is going to be shot off in a confrontation and they will have to fire weak handed upside down in mud through a barricade and the decades (1.3 hours) of experience they've built up racking slides with their teeth and slapping optics againt 2x4s and bootheels and BLUDGEONING magazines in with the force of 1,000 suns obliterating ejector after ejector is going to see them through that dark night
>>65014628Its not that deep bro
>>65014628Government procurement requirements also probably have something to do with it. If a lack of ambidextrous controls is going to be a potentially disqualifying feature, then companies have to do as the boomer requisitions officers say (as in the ridiculous need to have guns be field-strippable without pulling the trigger because cops can't be fucked to learn how to clear a gun).
>>65014031>Why no ambi controlsAmbi controls are the most fucking retarded gun "feature" ever created. Left handed people are so close to being non-existent that they do not fucking matter, and nobody that is right handed has any fucking use for this dogshit whatsoever. Not to mention, half the time these controls are implemented so poorly that they wind up being a hindrance. I have picked up so many guns where the right sided slide stop is in my fucking way it is unreal. All my homies HATE left handers.
>>65014608It's a Glock that's made (at least assembled) in the USA. That doesn't mean the QC is better or anything, but if buying one can help Cleetus keep his job at the gun factory, I'm gonna pick it over the Glock brand Glock 100% of the time.>>65014537You're right Burt. It's literally a skill issue and I should just train more. I was actually thinking "Huh, the RXM is perfect for me but it doesn't have ambi controls, so I shouldn't buy it." Thanks for convincing me it's a nonissue.
>>65014186>One or the other.Neither. Gun companies SHOULD box out 10% of the fucking population. So should everyone else. You freaks should be drowned in the river upon your discovery.
>>65014694I feel like brown hands typed this.
>>65014666FACTLeft-handers are more likely to be homosexuals or transgender.
I picked up picrel used from Guns.com, and I put 100 rounds of PMC .45 FMJ just to test it out. I had 7 ftf's and two of them were with an extra pair of 7 round mags I had. It could also be just me, but it seems like after further inspecting the gun, the front and rear sights seem ever-so-slightly off. The safety also has a very slight clicking when I press down on it. Other than that, the gun shoots like a dream, and is actually pretty accurate from what I can tell. The barrel bushing makes fits great to the slide, and makes very little rattle with the barrel taken out. Not to mention the grip feels fantastic. I want to chalk it up to it being a break-in issue, and will just stick with 7 round mags. Should I keep her as a project gun, or should I just return it and stick with American made only from now on?
>>65014726Might just need to be broken in a bit. Keep shooting it and see if the FTFs stop. It’s going to rattle more once it’s broken in, btw. The cheap American 1911s aren’t necessarily going to be more reliable than the Turkshit/Pinoyshit.
>>65014664Don't listen to Burt, I injured my right shoulder recently to where I can't lift it but I've still been able to train and practice thanks to ambi controls
>>65014537>Lyman is coming out with a cheap one that is knurled the whole lengthOh baby. They even use a G2 Glock as the model, those sexy bitches.>>65014544M2 version has too much added fluff. Burt hit it on the nose:>The spacewars nonsense all trying to outdo one another with added machine time looks silly to me, and they're only getting worse with 3D printing
>>65014779>Might just need to be broken in a bit. Keep shooting it and see if the FTFs stop. It’s going to rattle more once it’s broken in, btw. Sounds good, I'll buy those WC mags and see how it goes. I love the way it feels and shoots man. And for only $460, I don't think I could've gotten a better deal elsewhere. This one might just become an excellent project gun.>The cheap American 1911s aren’t necessarily going to be more reliable than the Turkshit/Pinoyshit.Word. I would've been pissed if I had spent 400 more on an American gun, only to have it hang up on me like that.
>>65014659If you can't shoot a pistol with either hand dominant you're not making the most use out of it
>>65014628>and BLUDGEONING magazines in with the force of 1,000 suns obliterating ejector after ejectorWhy not just use a better mag design?
>>65014726what state were the failure to feeds? Could be that the case rims aren't getting under the extractor's claw meaning the extractor tension is too high or the slide doesn't have enough force (disconnector or something else is robbing it of energy on the return stroke).
I want to buy a magwell for my 1911 because they look sick and I think it would be a fun project to profile and blend it to my frame, but I have like 15 USGI seven rounders and only two Wilson 47DsCan I just get some 3d printed baseplates and epoxy them onto the bottom of my usgi mags? Or should I stop being poor and only use premium mags?
>>65014824why not trim yo damn nails
>>65014797I’m probably gonna listen to burt a lot of the time, he has cool guns
>>65014876That will work but most basepads for welded base pads are actually screw on, but fancy baseplates aren’t that expensive. MecGar Match magazines actually have a really nice baseplate
>all these white hands being posted in /hg/I thought this was a brotha-friendly general
>>65014890I do. It's only been like two days.
How many dedicated carry mags do you guys usually stock for your daily? It costs me like 60-70 bucks to get my carry mags set up how I want them and I currently have 2 12 round flush mags and 2 14 round mags currently for work/weekend carry respectively. Should I just buy more a couple more bodies of each and then stock up on extra +2 mag springs?
>>65014952>set up how I want themnigga what does this meanyou just buy them
>>65014958I'm swapping out the OEM followers/springs for +2s that I've vetted as good.
>>65014963>swapping out the OEM
>>65014963>swapping out the OEM followers/springs for +2sI wouldn't know i just put oem plus 2 base pads
>>65014974>>65014966These ones are flush fit +2s which I really like and I've put about 800 rounds through the ones I have with no issues.
>>65014898I actually have no issue with mec gars, maybe I'll get a couple. I got two nitrided mags from Sarco and besides not always locking back they are pretty nice for $7.99. I can physically see the feed lips are not deforming at all with a full magazine, something I dealt with with mec gars (although the mec gars have been perfectly fine in spite of the feed lip splaying)
>>65014031Nothing better than taking Friday afternoon off to spend time with some hot Italians.
I LIKE BERETTAS
>>65015066>posting anon in /hg/>presumably owns all those matebaswho the fuck are you

lol how does this even happen
>>65015175oh anon, but what would our girlfriend’s think?
>>65015183How can my hungover ass do it at 6am but Secret Service agents can't?
>>65014664You missed the point entirely, it's literally NOT a skill issue. You just do it because it's entirely intuitive. Just use the finger that's right near the controls like the rest of us do, and/or slingshot the slide. Again this doesn't apply to very specific mechanical limitations, like a Sig P226's decocker for example. Strikers are practically not among the affected guns, you and OP are talking about safetyless strikers>>65014666Most of those also apply to jews, satan>>65015183Must have been a lefty, couldn't wrap his head around the single button on his pistol
>>65014031The rxm is a decent choice as far as poorfag guns go

>>65015184Don't worry it's just 2 bros taking a little time to go out, showing off, and shooting our guns at The Range. No one has to know.
I feel the urge to buy a .40 S&W and 10mm gun
>>65015273Two birds one stoneOr three actually, but the third kind of stone costs $1.70/round
>>65015241alright but maybe we should do a little shootin anyway, so it’s easier to lie?
>>65015273on the other extreme end, this is the cheapest glonk 40 available, police don't like them anymore
>>65015290There's only 2 things I love the smell of in the morning; gunpowder and you.
>>65015305For .40 I actually want a USPI have a USP 45 but I've always wanted the 40 as wellAnd maybe a Glock 27For 10mm it's the Colt Delta Elite and Glock 20
Berettanon you should date this guy!
>>65015348I think he might even have more Berettas.https://x.com/alaskorly/status/2037517820162895918
>>65015290My mom brought my dad to see this in the theater and only told him "it's a cowboy movie." When the movie revealed they're gay, my dad leaned over to mom and said "uh oh." Any time this movie is referenced, I lol thinking about the old man in that situation.
>>65015363that’s pretty fucking funny ngl
>>65014031Is Glock v as good as the gen 5?
>>65015363Sounds like the time my friend's mom rented Chuck & Buck from Blockbuster.
>>65015222um, anon...
>>65015394Literally a gen 5 minus gen 5 parts compatibility.
>>65015358I recognize that quilt
>>65015394It depends on what you want. It's going to be comparable with a weird mix of gen 5 and 6 parts and will be rare like gen 3 rtf because it was just a short run. Except the ones that didn't get a gen 6 version yet, no one seems to be buying those, so maybe Glock will just drop the other calibers and subcompacs.
>>65015183
Things I don't need but kind of want. First .45 I ever shot. How good or bad are they?
>>65015608It looks scary like a p320
>>65014726It should be a good project and you won't feel bad about messing up a nice 1911. My tisas duty needed a decent amount of extractor tuning when I first got it. Occasionally would fail to fully return to battery, I profiled the extractor to original specs and adjusted the tension until it would smoothly cycle rounds (without the recoil spring or firing pin in). Also for whatever reason the slide stop never worked quite right, it looked fine to me but would randomly fail to lock back every couple magazines. Replaced it with a WC bulletproof one and it's been fine since. I'd grab a couple WC mags to try too
>>65015691It's literally the safest 320 because it's not striker fired it's DAO.>>65015608If you want a .45 Sig, get a LE trade in P220.
I love people sometimes. The RXM is such a poverty gun, but you can get a $1500 titanium grip module for it (they also offer aluminium and stainless for more reasonable prices)
Newish to shooting. I was shooting earlier with one eye closed and I was shooting to the left. I tried shooting with both eyes open and I noticed I was more accurate. Is this a sight picture/alignment problem or most like a grip thing?
>>65015918placebo effect
>>65015918>Is this a sight picture/alignment problem or most like a grip thing?probably, have you been dry firing?shooting both eyes open is the correct way to shoot
>>65015934>is this x or y?>yes
>>65015881Coworker finally became hasguns with one of these. Guy is constantly looking for validation on his first purchase, but seems a little sad when the general response is it being a decent gen 3 clone.
>>65015934>shooting both eyes open is the correct way to shootliterally not how iron sights or eyesight works but ok
>>65015936nigga I did not watch them shoot, "newish" probably means their grip sucks or their trigger pull sucks in addition to them fucking around with eye balls. As the other anon said "placebo effect" is probably opening both eyes changes your technique where you are now conscious of what you're doing throughout the process (open feedback) instead of the closed feedback of your existing technique. Being conscious of your sight picture, trigger press, probably helped more than shooting one eye'd >>65015942you have a dominate eye, your dominate eye will over power your non dominate eye and your sight picture will be primarily one eye. you probably shoot like this guy don't you, fucking dumbass weaver stance, one eye closed
>>65015939I never got seeking validation for your purchases when it's a tool like a gun. You should be seeking help with getting better at shooting, what gun you use doesn't really matter as long as it's functional.
Thoughts?
>Rxm>echelon>hk45>lcrEvery thread. How do they do it?
>>65015969>I never got seeking validation for your purchases when it's a tool like a gun.people buying guns for the first time often do alot of research to find the best gun, or the best deal, and then seek validation for their choice. it's the same thing about buying cars, endless argument over ford vs chevy, mustang vs camero, f150 vs etc.
>>65015967>your dominate eye will over power your non dominate eyenigger what kind of eyes do you have
>>65015980what type of eyes do you have?
>>65015981normal human eyes????
>>65014143Impresionante, let's see Taurus failure rates.
>>65015980He's not wrong though. If you put out your hands, make a circle, look through it and bring it back you can find your dominant eye. It's literally the eye that you focus through, the other one works for depth perception and parallax unless you focus on something really far in the periphery of that direction.
>>65015978leviathan tribe shill those guns every week
>>65015981The weaker eye must fear the stronger eye

>>65016073The px4 is better imo
>>65014421Lack of aftermarket. Toblerones look cool. The apx a1 if want the optics ready. Nice triggers on both. The only optics and light ready holster for the apx a1 that actually fit, I got off of wish. All the American made ones I tried were some jeets larping as Americans and ended up having to do charge backs on.>Saaaar it's for apx a1, you are using apx.>Photos of apx a1 and apx both not fitting>Saaaar your pistols are defective, holster is quality. Do not redeem charge back. No returns and no refunds.
>>65016076Agreed. I just wish boomers would denote that they're selling an inox version instead of forcing me to sift through hundreds of listings in the vain hope of buying one.
>>65016076how about the APX ? is it an improvement or just the same shit but with a different name ?
>>65016012>you put out your hands, make a circle, look through it and bring it backor I could just shut an eye and shoot like a normal sane person
>>65016092nvm, i'm blind and didn't saw that post >>65016084
>>65016092The APX is a striker fired pistol heavily based on the Gen 3 Glock while having an FCU system. It was entered into the M17 trials that it lost, it did see police adoption world wide.
>>65016096"Hurr durr I'm not going to identify my dominant eye and shoot in the objectively correct way because i'm stupid and stubborn"-YouI hope you get into a self defense situation where you need your depth perception and get domed from the side because you closed your fucking eye
>>65016096>or I could just shut an eye and shoot like a normal sane personnobody actually good at shooting shuts one eye >inb4 bullseye shooting not a practical application, if the meta is zeroing for a 6 o clock hold then it's not a practical application
>>65016117I hope you have a great day and learn to be civil with those you disagree with
I think I'll start dry firing and get some more practice, then see how it goes from there. Enjoy your eye argument.
>>65016129Be sure to use snap caps or inert rounds!
>>65015974Ugly, stupid, stupider when you consider it has its own proprietary mags

>>650161799mm, the .45 kind of sucks
>>65015918Try closing both eyes next time.>>65016163Anon, it's okay to lose a little muscle from HRT because handguns are the great equalizer.
>>65016163He can just use a mag loader. Mag loaders make loading magazines quicker and easier.
>>65016190I don't really need another 9mm
>>65016226you also dont need another gun, yet here you areactually you dont need a gun at all, carry a whistle

>>65016142>it has its own proprietary magsdoesn't a vast majority of guns?
>>65015974
>>65016394Burt, you're into esoteric pistols, what do you think about the Grand Power Mk23 lineup? I'm looking very closely at the Q1. Would it be good as a first 9mm handgun?
Link me cheap M18s
>>65016415>Walther PDP and Beretta APX had a baby
>>65016435DYOR
>>65016415Not a fan of the chunky mk23 styling but it's a solid brand and the optic mount is a long overdue upgrade. I like the brand a lot but have no personal experience with the Q lineIt has some quirks though. Despite the takedown QOL upgrade from the mk12 on it's still not as braindead easy to dis/reassemble as most strikers. Or most guns really. You have to think, look and fiddle to get it back together. The striker ones don't have as good of triggers as the hammer ones but that doesn't really matter. On mine the mag is hard to lock in the last 0.1mm, the magwell is just a blonde one too long so you have to shove or shock it in to get the mag release to click in. I do not know if this is just my single example, or endemic to the brand, or an old issue fixed with newer generations (mine is mk7).As a first gun? Not the best choice, but not bad. You'll learn its idiosyncrasies. If it speaks to you, get one!
>>65016439Yeah Ik it's a POS that's why I want one cheap
Show me your barrel wear right now
>>65016467It doesn't indicate anything. Some guns show white from the first few dry fires out of the box. Some barely wear at all after thousands of rounds.
Posting again since I didn't get enough answers last thread.I want a suppressed .45 for home defenseShould I make a copy of the Baller from Hitmanor should I just buy a USP 45
>>65016517USP 45 T or FNX45 T
>>650165171911s can be rather expensive and finicky especially when you start suppressing them which are not great qualities for a gun intended for home defense. The USP in 45 is a fine gun, but the Glock 21 is, in my opinion, a smoother, simpler .45 for about half the price and is what I'd recommend for a no-nonsense big bore plastic pistol.
>>65016517>Posting again since I didn't get enough answers last thread.>I want a suppressed .45 for home defense>Should I make a copy of the Baller from Hitman>or should I just buy a USP 45Just buy the USP, anon. Do you want your home defense gun to go bang when you need it, or are you fine with that not happening because you fucked up your 1911 build trying to make it look like a vidya gun? Or buy a glawk or mk23 or even an already suppressor ready 1911, something that's geared to have a can on it out of the box so it's not a possible point of failure when a bear breaks into your apartment at 3 am to steal your picnic basket or honey jar or something.
>>65016665>>65016657>>65016525Thanks
>>65016179I have one in .40, honestly pretty fun to shoot for a .40.
>>65016517The USP Tactical is pretty much the gold standard for a suppressed .45 ACP pistol whose reliability you may need to bet your life upon. Don’t settle for something else unless the proprietary rail and lack of factory optic cut are dealbreakers for you. You’ll regret it.

I literally have the worst luck buying nighthawks, all 3 1911s I bought had the same issue of premature slide stop engagement. It’s not me, I can get the gun to do it one handed. are any of the guns like LCP significantly smaller than the p365?was gonna go pick something up today but it seems p365 is actually about the same size as something like lcp. the issue im having is i tend to print a bit because im short and not heavy. its not noticeable in this sweatshirt type weather but if im wearing a t shirt someone could definitely spot me carrying if they were looking.

>>65018980ah okay, sorry for coming at you like a dickhead anon
Shot with my friends today.Literally both of their glocks had multiple failures.I don’t have anything against Glock but I certainly don’t think they’re this mega reliable handgun like some say.One was definitely as a result of a particular hollow point but even then, it seems like glocks should be able to eat any hollow point.
>>65018987It's cool. My rangefinder is in meters so it always throws me off for a second.
>>65016117This is a non issue with pistols. Even more so with a red dot. As you can simply present the gun under your dominant eye. This is a major issue with rifles however. As you need an actual alignment between multiple point of contacts. I have an extremely bad case of amblyopia (aka lazy eye) with a left eye vision far clearer than the right (as a right handed shooter), and i only had two solutions (which none of these are "actual" solutions to begin with).- Switch hands and shoot left handed (which feels like shit even if you force yourself to "learn" through it, i don't believe someone can be as efficient as a lefty if he was born a righty and so far no good source proved me otherwise). - Close one eye (goodbye depth perception, peripheral vision and overall field of vision) so complete shit.So the thing that somewhat worked for me (you won't get something perfect out of an imperfect scenario) is a small amount of clear tape on the left lens of my shooting (corrective) glasses. It tricks the brain into thinking there's an obstruction therefore giving the right eye more attention and i can find my dot this way. Granted my vision isn't as clear since my right eye isn't good to begin with but it works and you'd be surprised what you can make out of a "meh" vision. I don't know jack shit about olympic shooter stuff but i guess the weird ass glasses they wear serves the same general concept.
>>65018989Sounds like user error to me. What failures were they?
>>65018989>poorly maintained? >bad ammo? >atrocious grip? Not a total glockfag, but I'd rule these out before I blamed the gun.
>>65019024Failure to feed mostly.I wonder if it was mag related because 1 mag in particular I only had 3 rounds in and it had a failure to feed all 3 times. It was not “user error”.We all shoot a lot and I have thousands of rounds through handguns without any failures.
>>65019027>poorly maintained, I know for a fact one was cleaned recently because I’m the one who cleaned and lubed it.The other, I have no idea.>bad ammoThe other Glock had ammo related failures but it was not “bad ammo” the Glock just didn’t want to feed that hollow point design >atrocious grip100% not this, we are all great shooters and each one of us had at least 1 failure of some kind (no other guns had a single failure today)>magsI’ll bring this up because I think that’s what it was for the none ammo related failure. It’s possible we all had feeding issues when we got to one particular mag.
>>65019046Which hollow point?
>>65019079Not sure, I didn’t see the box.I would guess some kind of generic Remington based on the look.
>>65018989I don't believe you.
>>65018470I had a very similar situation with a Smith & Wesson 4516.>What I expectedA "compact" pistol that weighs as much as a 1911 and will be shot as little as my other .45s.>What I gotA heavy compact that's comfortable to carry OWB, has a much better trigger than I was expecting, and is the lightest-shooting .45 I've shot. I've had a 1911 and Glock 21 for ten years, and the 4516 is my first .45 (ACP) that I really enjoy shooting.
>>65018989>befriends negros with KCI mags>malf while shooting at dirt>how could Glock do this?
Bought and shot my first 1911 today.Shooting .45 feels great, and the SAO trigger is amazing, even for a stock 1911. My group was the size of an apple at 25 yards.

Remember the "cop" from a month ago who claimed to be having issues with some Glock magazines "issued by his agency", and then after several hours of well-intentioned anons trying to help him, he still never was able to post proof of this?No pictures of the gun, no pictures of the magazine, no picture of the failure, no description/picture of the feed lips, no description of the failure beyond "it malfunctioned", no nothing? And then he promised he would get pictures of the gun when he got back to the office "inside his locker", and then never did so?Really makes you think.
>>65019195Oh shit I just remembered that guy. >>65018989 is definitely him

>>65019195Yeah I noticed you guys really like the taste of bait. They can be so obvious and someone here will still bite.
>>65019195That's why Rule 32 exists.
>>65019095That's awesome, Anon. My only fear is how expensive the mags might be
>>65019034Old mag + weak ammo? Glock having ftf usually means either recoil impulse gives magazine too little time to lift next round, or that magazine spring takes too much time moving the next round up. Glocks are kind of tuned like that, see "limp wristing".

>>65019590That's right, I portrayed Val McKee in Ron Underwood's 1990 directorial debut: Tremors.
>>65019277I’m thinking it was something like this. One that was having issues with the hollow points was a gen 5 Glock 45 (9mm). The one that kept getting ftf was a gen 4 Glock 17.The round would be wedged in an upward position with the bullet going straight into the roof of the chamber. Would have to drop the mag and dump the bullet out to clear it. Tried lining up the bullet properly and chambering it but the extractor wouldn’t go over the rim so the slide wouldn’t close.I had this failure 3 times in a row with a single mag.I saw the owner of the gun have this failure at least once. The Glock 45 owner I’m pretty sure only had issues with the hollow points and so did I when I shot it.
>>65019277I will add it wasn’t as a result of kino wresting though. I specifically gripped the crap out of the gun after the first failure and it happened 2 more times.

>>65019528Slop and cheap beer
>>65018509>>65018518Wow that's genuinely sad actually. Nighthawk really should know about that problem. I doubt they will will replace your slide but they should. They should admit the IOS cut is not as genius as they say it is. I genuinely think the A-Cut/COA is the future of 1911 optics mounting. If you're not using an actual COA you can just get a plate adapter. If I was gonna get a slide cut for an optic right now I would pay a good shop to figure out how to mill a 1911 slide for the A cut and how to secure the rear clamp piece with a rollpin instead of screws
>>65019644Who makes that?
>>65019675The gun is already at nighthawk. The slide stop thing is weird, most of my guns are around 2014 so I think I keep buying guns during Nighthawk’s “bad” period (1911 connoisseur at my range told me about it) or rather, that’s why they’re for sale Do you like that Harrison defense safety? I don’t
>>65019737Sig "functional features only" slide, Icarus frame
>>65019644That slide tho
>>65019664Beats nothing
>>65019871Burt, why are you so infatuated by the color blue?
>>65019740IMO the slide stop is the most finicky part of the whole 1911 and I don't really know how any company can just CNC a slide stop, even to .0005" tolerances and have it actually work perfectly with every magazine follower and spring combination, not even mentioning SSP plunger and plunger spring. there's too many variables:>Slide stop window in the frame, specifically its height and relationship to the height of the lug on the SSP>thickness of the slide inside the slide stop notch, and the general profile of the slide stop notch compared to the nub on the SSP>reassembly ease notch on the side that faces rear>width and profile of the groove that rides the underside of the frame rail>diameter of the pin and its relationship to the barrel lugsI guess you already sent it out and they'll fix it for you but the first thing I would do is make sure you don't have excessive plunger spring tension, which would drag on the SSP and sometimes prevent it from going up. You can use a tool to dig a small oval shaped trench in the back of the SSP if you're happy with the thumb safety tension and don't want to mess with that. Also make sure the bottom of the frame rail isn't slamming into the SSP and creating a weird groove on the top of it. I lightly filed the top of my SSP a few times.Yes, I like the harrison safety a lot, I like where the side of my thumb engages with it going into safe. I actually profile it fairly heavily but its not obvious from looking at it.

>>65020024Nice! I like green but I don't have any green guns. I've been tempted to grab one of those green USP9 frames in case I ever actually get a USP9
>>65019983probably this area of the slide stop is dragging on cases as they feed up. You can actually test this with snap caps or live rounds by covering the whole area with sharpie and feeding and ejecting it over and over again, then lightly filing where rounds are making contact. If your slide stop has left-right play you should squeeze it all the way right so its most exaggerated, even though it will walk probably walk left during shooting
