What's your favorite magazine/way to reload? For me, it's speed loaders.

What's up with mec gar glock mags? Yea or nah?
>>65023888I once was checking out some gun store in the middle of nowhere PA and saw a used Browning BDA. I asked the only person behind the counter, an old man, if he knew anything about the gun and he said "It's metal" and walked off. Before I left, I hear a customer ask for ammo as he was going hunting and the store owner said they don't sell ammunition "due to the liability".What the fuck does that even mean
>>65023945>they don't sell ammunition "due to the liability".If I beat the shit out of you with this gun who's liable then, faggot?
>>65023935Nay, your saving all of 10 bucks whoopdiedoo. Better off getting the magpul ones.
>>65023865This is true
>>65023935I have heard that they can overtravel and damage your extractor but I don't know if that's fuddlore.
>>65023935Aren't mec gar top tier italian mags?>>65023974Usually anything your hear or read about X damaging your gun is fuddlore, like steel case 9mm damaging the extractor or the ramp
>>65023945I expect less and less from gen pop as time goes on. The fact that the average person can tie their shoes is a fucking miracle.
>>65023935They lack the Glock overtravel stop so be careful when using them in a 19 or 26 or aftermarket frame. There was a fiasco when using a aftermarket everything Glock with a trigger tech trigger, slamming in a magazine would cause the gun to go off. The trigger tech trigger was to blame mostly. For the new 15 round slimline Glock mags it seems that MecGar is the OEM manufacturer of them. Okay not really seems, it’s 100% confirmed from the ones in the wild.
>>65023695Nah my dude, I'm gonna STOCK UP. Don't you know there will be NO AMMO in a MONTH due to what's GOING ON in the WORLD?? A 1000rd case of magtech steel case just flew over my house!.

>>65023996Yeah mec gar makes mags for a lot of different gun manufacturers
>>65023935Mine work great, but I already saw someone here post a magazine like that with a jammed follower.
Cleaned em up today
So I had my 1st IDPA match yesterday and absolutely had a blast. What is a good revolver to use for IDPA for fun? You can only have 6 rounds for revolver division so would a New Model 10 Smith be a good option or shoudl I go with a Ruger GP100? Maybe a Taurus and spend the difference on some speed loaders? I really prefer a 3 inch barrel.
>>65024112Gun oil or ballistol for a 1911?
>>65023935My only experience with Mec-Gar is shooting them with my Staccato. After 1,600 rounds through the gun (and about a dozen Mec-Gar mags) I had this malfunction this weekend.>pew pew pew>[stops]>hammer isn't cocked>"huh">rack slide>no round chambers>eject mag and inspect>rounds jumbled up about an inch down>used squib rod to clear mag jam>reload>keep shooting without issue
>>65024128Actually, now that I think about it more, the hammer was cocked and when I fired, it was just an empty chamber. Yeah, that makes more sense.

>>65024009>The fact that the average person can tie their shoes is a fucking miracleThe era of shoe-tying is coming to an end. In the 1970s and 80s slip-on variations of shoes that were traditionally laced started to catch on, you can thank Vans for that. Since the early 2000s though it's been snowballing aggressively, and now slip-on/laceless/hands-free footwear dominates in nearly every category. Running shoes are the last major hold-out, boots are "competitive". Exceptions are made primarily as a style choice, lots of sneakers now have fake laces just for show. When you see zoomers with laces it's because they're wearing Nikes, and the untied laces are tucked behind the tongue, or they've been replaced with fakes. Shoe-tying, wife-beating, cigarettes, machine guns, a lack of AIDs, it's all boomer-speak now.

Those are really bullseye/target features that don't help for idpa. 3" python might have a slightly better double action.

>>65024329It’s over. I need to order more.
>>65024282^^ this guy is right if you have it. Hoppes is fine for all over if you don't.
>>65024432Hoppes is actually the worst oil I've ever used honestly. I ran it for over a year on parkerized steel parts and it basically did nothing to prevent corrosion/rust at all. it seems like a good oil when you first lay it on because it spreads nicely and the excess wipes off easily, but it dries super quick if it doesn't run off first. I think it's mainly meant for blued guns. I wouldn't put it on anything knowing what I know now, for friction areas I'd rather use clp or rem oil if I didn't have lucas oil

I buy coconut oil from Costco (31c/oz), add a dram of wintergreen flavoring ($3) for every gallon of coconut oil, divvy it up into 4oz plastic jars from Amazon (50c/ea), slap a label on it (15c/ea), then sell them as gun lube for $14/ea. Nobody seems to mind.
>>65024465>parkerized steel parts>rust>hoppesYeah. Keep going, kid.
>>65024329Man, glad I bought at the beginning of the month right before the panic buying started.>40s&wWhat're the selling points for .40, anyway? I always hear the debate between 9mm and .45 (and maybe 10mm for woods), but I barely hear .40 get brought up nowadays.
>>65024501From my local .40 fanboy? Mostly that lots of LEO use it, even after the FBI abandoned it, and some people really like using what they use. In my experience, it doesn't give you anything 10mm won't do a bit better, or that 9mm isn't already basically doing.
>>65024501>What're the selling points for .40, anywayIt's between 9 and 45, but it doesn't matter as much as it's an indicator of panic buying - 40 sits where it was because no one is shooting it, it fell off.
I think I’m gonna buy an USP45
>>65024501Its a tried and true basketball american stopper, widespread use on the streets since the 90s by police to great effect
>>65024501>panic buy resistant>cheaper than most other pistol rounds>easily converted; 1 gun can fire 2-4 different calibers out of it
>>65024501I like it. It’s not metric. What else do I need to say?
Slide is getting caught on the guide rod flange. I replaced the main recoil spring, still happening. Anyone deal with his before? Would just replacing the recoil assembly take care of it? Kahr wants me to send the whole thing in, but I don't want to deal with all that.
>>65024748When it isn't caught up like an asshole.
>>65024748>>65024749Sorry. Kahr PM9.
>>65024748There are at least 3 different generations of recoil spring assemblies for the PM9 and they've all been problematic. I'd send it back to Kahr.
>>65024748Radius the inside end nut of the guide rod, you could do it to your gun inside the guide rod hole, but a guide rod is easier to replace than a slide. Just a slight angle with a dremel and clean up with sandpaper will do. Like change it from this | to this \
>>65024329why are retards panic buying ammo now

are Beretta 84 Cheetahs officially considered Curios and Relics this year?they were released in 1976 so thats already 50 years ago
>>65025124Well, they recently came out with the 80x so it's still a tried and true design if they're still making it to this day. The 81bb I had in .32 ACP was amazing but having one in .380 would probably better.

>>65024905Sometimes I wonder if people are so conditioned to panic buy every time something happens anywhere in the world that they just do it out of habit.
>>65025057When I got mine used the gun store just happened to have 5 used mags for sale for $20 each. I'm so lucky for this coincidence.
>>65025124Only the ones made in 1976.
>>65025127yeah the main reason is im trying to get my hands on one in california and since the C&E bypasses the roster im hoping it'll let me get a Cheetah
>>65025228FUCKhow do you tell them apart? serial number?
>>65025233Berettas have proof marks that tell the date of manufacture.https://www.bluefieldsports.co.uk/blog/dope-5/beretta-italian-date-marks-8The proof mark for Cheetahs are usually on the trigger guard. For example, this fuddbroker Cheetah has a proof mark of "AI", which translates to 1982. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1165997865For 1976, the mark is "AB". So look for a Cheetah with AB on the trigger guard.
>>65023935No issues with mine either.

Which cz or clone should I get?
>>65025465You should buy a pre-B CZ-75 with no import marks and give it to me
>>65025467No I want a cz thank you. The mythical combloc gun no one could get which was really cool. I think they’re better than berettas
>>65025478Okay but it's not the 1960s anymore. You can grab a modern CZ at any gun store in the US
>>65025481>Modern CZ>Made with modern soft steelNo thanks fag
>>65025141I dont buy any of that shit, keep projecting
>>65025481Which one do I get though >>65025482Okay dude. You want soft steel? Go look at star pistols. Like butter
>>65025529>Which one do I get thoughThat all depends on you. Which guns do you already have and what do you like about CZs?
>>65025458I'm trying. But I shoot a lot of 9mm. 200 rounds per range trip is normal and that's at least once a month, often more. That means I'm burning through at least 2400 rounds a year. One day I will have to go full boomer and order a 100k round pallet and just fill my closet.
>>65025458I already have 1k of 9mm to start (again) a stockpile.I wouldn't mind having 3k minimum just to put aside.

>>65025580It will be done. Wasn’t sure if I should get a rail model, Jericho, or a tsngfolio clone.>>65025582Having owned a beretta, it’s just a hard truth. Cz stock has a better trigger compared to a dressed up beretta AND it’s more aesthetically pleasing. I honestly want to see dressed up hi-powers next. Not that beretta’s are bad, but best analogy I can come up with is eating spaghetti for every meal. Yeah it’s spaghetti, but after a while it gets stale and there’s only so much variation you can do with spaghetti.
>>65025596When you get the CZ you will see you put it on a pedestal and it’s Eastern Bloc barely acceptable mid as them come handgun.
>>65025596Beretta owners never fuck with extended firing pins and lighter firing pin springs for a reason, the idea that a stock CZ is better than a “dressed up Beretta” is asinine.
>>65025576Reloading isn't cheaper than bulk ammo unless you're reloading for a weird caliber.
>>65025217If you were older than 17 and lived through some things you might have perspective. Imagine not remembering Thursday morning lines outside Walmart.
>>65024992If you are so broke that buying a box or two of 9mm every week or so is going to be the difference between paying rent and getting evicted or going hungry, maybe you should try to get a better job and improve your living situation before you start trying to stockpile ammo. Or at least get on food stamps or something.
>>65025232Some of them bypass the roster apparently. I'm getting a Type 3 for ammo, but a Star bm9, the cheetah, and a p38 are on my want list. I want to feel like I'm threatening Rockford. What 357 curio should I get? And what 38 snubby?
>>65025633I'm trying my best to clean up my financial situation.
>>65025636There's been time I would only shoot 22 because no money
>>65025627>Reloading isn't cheaper than bulk ammoUhh...
>>6502562738 special and 357 Magnum aren't weird calibers and it is much cheaper to reload that shit. Of course, you are correct when it comes to 9mm and 5.56. Of course, if I had a 9mm revolver, I would probably handload for it. I just hate trying to find and collect my brass after shooting semi auto pistols. But you're not interested in an honest discussion, faggot.
Boondock is such a mid wit, the military's special purpose ammo is Hague compliant because the copper jacket persists into the cavity instead of exposing the lead. This bullet construction improves accuracy because the weight's shifted rearward for a more level orientation in flight so terminal expansion is plausibly incidental to the ballistic properties of M1153.
>>65025933Imported Glock clones should be cheap. The Echelon was made for high margins, it was made to be a rip-off. I might do reloading for my 45-70
>>65026258>how long does that take, including final inspection?I don't time it to the hour, but casually working on it it would be over the course of a few days.I deprimed, sized and cleaned the primer pockets of over 5,000 .45 Auto cases and that took me most of season 1 of SG1 across a few days. So like 14hrs-ish. About 6 press presses a minute, one every 10 seconds because I'm watching TV.Doing the math and assuming priming the brass takes about the same time if I'm slowly doing it, I estimate 500rds would take me around 7hrs on my single stage press at a casual rate. And that's all while paying partial attention to watching TV.

At what point is ammo too much? like literally causing issues with your subflooring or joists. Especially if you store it in the same room/area.Assuming you go by the recommended load for square feet based on normal housing standards, if it is a closet or something would probably not be as much as you think.Plus 45ACP and heavier rounds weigh more than smaller rounds.Would be a good Gemini question probably. How many rounds is "enough"? 10k per caliber? 20k per caliber? 2k per gun? Obviously normies might only have like a few boxes, so maybe 100-150 per each gun. Assuming you train and shoot maybe 1k rounds a month per caliber, or at a minimum a few hundred a month, youd need to restock 1k rounds every other month to maintain maybe.

The Spohr is nice, but I don't know if it's $3000+ nice, and a problem with all of the commercially available high-end European revolvers is they're just meant for target shooting. At least Spohr makes a 3" model, but it weighs more than any comparable model from S&W or even Ruger.
