They don’t. Their trigger job consists of installing the gray guns “shorter” reset kit, it should not be called a short reset kit, and polishing the stock hammer, hammer strut, and trigger bar. Maybe replace the sear spring and hammer spring. Plenty of white lithium grease on everything. The SA trigger will be very good, good enough reset, but the DA will still be poor in my opinion. There isn’t really anything that can be done for the DA except maybe that weird LEM match hybrid but I’d rather kill myself than try to install that.

They do not use the Match trigger kit since it costs more, parts are hard to get, and makes the reset less positive.

Hello my friends
I am a nogunz poster and I am looking into my first pistol
My main use case is mostly range fun as a hobby, with the <0.001% chance that I need to shoot someone who breaks into my house to kill me.
I'm not super interested in building a collection at this point but I would like something that isn't just utilitarian
I am posting here because I don't trust Reddit Opinions or Youtubers
I tried a wide variety of handguns at my local range
I took notes as I shot them. I am wondering what you think of my conclusion and experiences.
TL;DR:
>The Sig P211 seems like a really great gun and what I think I would get

I tried the following handguns
>Glock 17 (Gen 6)
Actually felt much better than I would have guessed (I imagined it to be very lightweight/flimsy feeling based on a previous experience with a subcompact Glock), but the trigger is a little bit heavy and mushy. Definitely not bad, but not exciting
>Stealth Arms Platypus
Nice in the hand but the trigger was very light, had a couple times where I accidentally shot twice. Not appealing for that reason, though I understand that's customizable
>P211
Felt insanely good to shoot, and I was very on target with it. It felt like a straight upgrade from the Platypus in most ways.
>Staccato XC
Ended up feeling like it was slightly better than the P211 but not worth being $2K more expensive, so the P211 takes it for me. This one had a compensator which does make a noticable difference with staying on target when shooting faster, I think there's a P211 with one as well.
>Walther Q5
I can't explain it but I really was hoping to like this one and just didn't. I was off target and for some reason it felt harder to control recoil than the others.
>CZ Shadow 2
Similar to the Walther just didn't feel this one. On both of these they did not have optics, learned from this experience that a red dot is a MASSIVE QOL improvement which I am sure contributes. Trigger was nice.
>>
>>65089816
>My main use case is mostly range fun as a hobby, with the <0.001% chance that I need to shoot someone who breaks into my house to kill me.
In this case, single action actually makes sense. So Glock 17, CZ shadow, and Q5 are out.
I personally don't like the Platypus and think it's gay. I'm only one anon though.
IMHO, you can take your chances with SIG's venture into 2011s, or you can go with the known-good pistol that is the Staccato. Ask yourself if you're going to miss 2k on your deathbed, because that's how long the XC will last.

There are a great number of cartridges that absolutely failed within a few years. Is 30SC even still being made? There's like two guns chambered in it. How the fuck is .40 remotely close to that in terms of floppiness?
>>
>>65089855
I put the match trigger in mine because of the overtravel stop. It makes a pretty big difference because the usp trigger travels like a half inch after the break. I didn't get the rest of the match trigger kit.

Consider a Kimber 2K11 (Comp) also, it's in the same high bang for buck category as the P211. Also maybe Bul but I don't think they have a comp model that "cheap" (or ported rather, they don't seem to do comps)

I have my doubts about the P211's comp, it's a complex thing that seems impossible to clean, but I've not seen anyone with high enough round counts for it to clog

t. Springfield Poverty poorfag (freaking love it)

>>65089880
30 SC production has ceased, its all just existing stock on the market. .40 is still made because there's still police departments that use it due to institutional inertia.

I need your help /k/

I just got basically a dream job to start my career, I am working downtown in one of those fancy skyscrapers. Dress code is 'yuppie formal' as I'd describe it, well fitting clothes, everything tucked in, very presentable. Building itself has security so I feel pretty safe there, downside to this is closest parking lot is about 5 blocks away and the downtown gets very sketchy very fast, with the dress code I feel like a walking piggy bank walking down the sidewalk. During the day it isn't so bad but I foresee many late nights, I would like to have protection but this is one of those jobs where concealed carrying isn't explicitly disallowed but it will rub people the wrong way if people I work with realize and it could impact my career.

I am wondering what people's thoughts are on how to concealed carry with a suit, especially when a blazer isn't always an option. I live in a very hot region and I can see people questioning why I always have a blazer. If there isn't a better way I can live with that but I feel like there is probably another option I'm not considering for concealed carry.
I am also thinking about getting a Bodyguard 2.0 for this, minimizing the size of the pistol is basically required for this situation.

if it really freaks you out but you don't want to be caught packing you could get an uber when you've had to work late
I know it's fagy and expensive but it's cheaper than getting mugged and hospitalized or sinking your chance at a promotion (and staying on since that's the selection criteria for staying for more than 3 years at those kinds of firms)
also if you want to freak people out less a retractable baton might be an option.
if they get close enough to mug you, they are close enough to bash them
>>
>>65089920
hmmm maybe i was too hasty
>>
>>65089899
Its kinda hot but I've used a belly band before. Basically zero ability to quick draw but I was able to carry a PPK on me with a tucked in shirt, I considered it more of a run and produce in safety kind of setup instead of anti mugger.
>>
>>65089855
I've never felt the need to fuck with internals period. Why take the risk of making a gun unreliable?
>>
>>65089926
>Uber
That I didn't consider for some reason but I think the jewishness of my coworkers have rubbed off on me & I refuse to pay for that.
>if you want to freak people out less a retractable baton might be an option
Not a particular fan of this option because the theme in the urban youth robberies is they walk up behind you in a pack & have a pistol drawn. Worst part is they sometimes just execute people anyway for no reason. There's also been beating incidents where they 'urban youth' just beat someone to a pulp for no good reason, a baton will only make them angry. There's also been a drive by & a couple of youths getting into disagreements over their entrance exam studies & shooting at each other all within a couple blocks of my job. To cut the story short, the area is getting noticeably worse fast.

Right now what I am considering is either should holster or getting a Bodyguard 2.0 and pocket carrying in a blazer. The bodyguard 2.0 also seems small & light enough that nobody would notice and I could throw it in my dresser or hide it in my backpack once I am in the office.
>>
>>65089855
The right combination of trigger mods can make a handgun incredibly easily to shoot if paired with a red dot, but I agree when it comes to practicing with a carry, assuming fine motor control is shot due to adrenaline it will not matter.
>>
>>65089941
I will look into that. With the clothing constraint, I am aware there is not a way to get a quickdraw but the slower draw pistol is still better than nothing.

Fitment was superb on both guns, mechanical accuracy was about the same (at least as well as the both of us could shoot, ergonomics are practically the same. Only difference I noticed was the finish, but that’s an easy $150 to get done on the Bul

>>
Every trigger mechanically smooths out over time, that's the biggest factor for a trigger. Everything else is superfluous. Even aftermarket triggers come pre polished or recommend polishing to get the desired effects, when people complain about triggers usually its due to finishes on internal parts creating unnecessary friction that leads to an uneven feeling pull as the parts drag and catch on eachother.

Do engraved guns usually sell more than a stock model or is it a wash?
>>
>>65090216
No, it heavily depends on the engraving. Generic scroll work is okay but one detail can doom the gun, like being engraved “premier grade” or “limited edition” or branding to who did it. You’re likely to not improve the price of the gun but to spend money on it to make it harder to sell.

Pre ban mags are grandfathered in and I have never heard of any person being charged for possession of mags, not even criminals committing shootings (they just let them out next day). Literally a road rage shooting and they let him out on bail next day for what could be attempted murder, he had a Glock with a switch in his apartment too.

Nobody cares, people will tell you where and how to get mags, FRTs are explicitly banned by state law and there are people at public ranges with them.

The ATF has executed white people for cutting barrels a little short or making small errors on FFL paperwork. You're right though, criminals do get way too many passes these days regardless of race. For people caught in 4K committing murder or rape should be thrown in a woodchipper feet first. Abolish the sex offender registry, if you commit a crime that would put you on that list you get life in prison. Felons caught with a firearm instant 20 years minimum sentence.

What did SOCOM end up doing with their USP 45's? Are they in special operation unit armouries collecting dust along with the SCAR's? Pocket carry something small or ankle. I have not had success with belly bands. I work under similar conditions but fortunately cargo pants are part of the uniform so I just put my cc guns in their regular holster right in the cargo pocket. Not ideal but not the worst and comfortable sitting or moving. If you're in slacks just get something small like an lcp/lcr or whatever.

Only idiots scorn red dots. The 1911 trigger with an effective sighting system like a red dot is a match made in heaven. Now if you cut a vintage 100 year old slide for red dots you’re fucking retarded and should be scorned since just buying a new slide is so much more cost effective.

I still like iron sighted 1911s, the Nighthawk IOS system makes it so you can swap between optics and irons without any loss of zero in 30 seconds with just an Allen key. I just get frustrated shooting irons since I can’t shoot at the speed/accuracy I can with an optic.

does the decocker on the rami fully decock the hammer or just half-cocks it?
been thinking of going for the D model but the safety version is cheaper in my area

Does it make sense to put dots on long slide guns or are we simply sacrificing sight radius at this point?

>recoil spring vs recoil and hammer spring
>same round being cycled
Can anyone explain, using real physics and not thetans or something, why a hammer spring could make a difference? Is it like the USP’s “recoil reduction” gimmick in that it just results in a change to the felt impulse of the last bit of slide travel somewhat?
>>
>>65094292
Half-cock. I believe many of the internal parts are directly interchangeable with CZ-75 decocker pattern pistols. If not interchangeable, they are at least the same basic design principles in a smaller package.

The slide traveling rearward needs to recock the hammer, this is at its maximum velocity right after the action unlocking. The resistance of the hammer is enough to significantly reduce slide velocity, so a lighter recoil spring can be used. A Glock 17 uses a 17 pound recoil spring while a Beretta 92 uses a 13 pound recoil spring stock. The benefits of a lighter recoil spring is that your slide doesn’t slam back into battery with as much force snapping the gun around.

You can even go further and modify the amount of leverage the slide has on the hammer like with a flat bottom firing pin stop in a 1911. JMB originally had a flat one and then the army wanted the guns easier to cock so they rounded it.

The more smooth and perfect all the firing internals are (not on a 92 obviously) the lighter the ignition spring can be made with reliable ignition. Some lower quality 1911s will always be stuck with a heavier hammer spring and that causes part of the manual actuation of the slide to not feel "buttery smooth". Which is why manufacturers try to make it as light as possible. Because most people aren't shooting their high end 1911s to notice any difference in the firing pin stop, and even if they are I bet you'd be hard pressed to notice much of a difference. The biggest thing would be making the recoil spring a little heavier to balance everything out and dial in return to zero. Again better manufacturers pay attention to this like Atlas.

On comped 2011s they will often need a lighter recoil spring and the lighter hammer spring is just bonus reliability, and makes the gun feel better to rack in your hands.

The 34 just isn't relevant in a dot world. The appeal it had was longer sight radius and softer shooting. This made it appealing to competition shooters at the time. Dots staunchly trump longer sight radius though, so the only appeal it had left was softer shooting. In competition though you also need speed, so people gravitated to a dot on a 47.5 or now a 17.6, because these cycle a bit faster with the 19 recoil system, but they have a long enough barrel to provide better shootsbility over the 19 - this is the sweet spot. At the end of the day they're all 9mm, so it's not that difficult to control. Thus the 34 faded from relevance.

t. Glock 19, 47, and 34 owner.

Flat bottom stops are more important on .45 and 10mm, you will always see them on 10mm 1911s
