Pic related is the first 60 rounds (30 at 7 and 30 at 15). The first 3 shots at 7 yards were stacked.

1.5x at best for target ammo. 9mm has spiked in the past month. And second point is just retarded. 5.7 performs well with the right ammo and 20rd standard capacity mags do well.
>>
>>65126780
>9mm has spiked in the past month
Not him but my shop has never stopped selling Fiocchi, Blazer or Federal 9mm for more than $12.99 a box
>>
>>65126780
even the armor piercing round struggles against NIJ level III armor. it might go through with a direct hit at close range. otherwise it's just a meme round, a rifle round shrunk down and it just kind of sucks.

>>65126787
Thats still only 1.7x. Its not 2.5x anymore and I expect 5.7 ammo will actually come down in price with time. There is no reason it should cost more than 9mm from a materials standpoint.
>>65126788
I dont expect niggers invading my house to have armor on. It does well against unarmored targets. Especially widely available rounds like picrel

I have actually seen police chase videos of them bailing out of the car wearing body armor before. So most likely not. But what's that doing better than a 9mm hollowpoint?
>>

Thoughts on a comp or porting on a small snappy carry gun?
>>
>>65126926
Do your research, many comps aren't proper expansion chambers and some are easier to install than others. With the right recoil spring setup and ammo you basically get a gun that shoots roughly as though it was a size larger than it is. Compacts can feel more like a full size, micros feel more like a compact etc.

You went aftermarket on the slide but OEM on the fire control including the trigger... why do you have both vertical and horizontal ports on the muzzle device? A comp should vent towards the sky and a brake is just an invitation for cycling issues unless installed to the grip-frame

Holosun is good, but since they’re so popular a good amount of lemons or failures happen. Some people have had the replacement dot they get fail as well. I’ve been lucky with mine, they have good options and for a while the EPS was peerless (now there are a ton of competing enclosed carry dots).

Works better than budget optics but eventually, they should be replaced with quality stuff like Aimpoint or Trijicon

I've never had an issue dropping the slide with my Gen 5 Glocks. If you're a thumblet, maybe also consider the PDP. Those have very large, ambidextrous controls, so you should be able to manipulate the slide lock/slide release on those.
>>
>>65127630
>I was gonna buy an M&P but that bitch wouldn't fucking shift at all
I noticed the same thing. A gun shop employee once told me it was made to just be a slide catch only not a release, don't know how true that is but It's really tough to drop the slide with it. A glock gen 5/6 or vp9 is good.

I have genuinely had an easier time working the left-hand slide release on my gen 5 Glock than most of the other ambi guns.

I've both. They're rad, P5 is a little nicer made, little better trigger, more comfy grip, but doesn't have the P5C's thumb mag release or cool angular looks

BUT other than some of the mechanisms (locking block, tilting firing pin, ultra lo-pro decocker/slide release, left eject) they're not very remarkable. Just your average DA/SA polizei pistole. And despite the hex pin being standard they're not going to live as long as run of the mill cheap notaglocks of today

>>65127623
With Vortex and Cyelee having lifetime warranties and Trijicons breaking literally from being mounted, lists are pointless. Holosun is quite good, their introductory products gained them notoriety and fandom, and their current products are demonstrably improved. I think they are singlehandedly responsible for the MASSIVE uptick in chinese optic quality over the last 10 years because they all copy each other and Holochink raised the bar

Anyway why don't you lay out what you're expecting from an optic, what you intend to use it for and how much you would like to pay and we can help steer you. Ranking lists are juvenile and inherently subjective

Aimpoint is overpriced and underperforming tripe for cops. Trijicon is overpriced. Vortex has decent optics and excellent warranty. I would go Vortex or Holosun.

If you could find a beat up one that you wouldn't be worried about damaging its collectors value it'd make a neat carry piece fur sure, and if it's beat it should be (relatively) cheap too! It's been awhile since I looked but I have seen them as low as $550 with 1 mag and no box/stuff. Also you can use cheap P38 mags if you cut a slit on the spine with a dremel or file, they just stick out the magwell a little

Ruger makes affordable guns that are built like tanks. They may look big and bulky, but they eat everything, never fail, always run.

Lots of people would rather have an affordable gun that's 99% reliable, than an expensive 'high-performing' pistol that's 97% reliable.

I bought an XDS gen 1 back in 2014 or so. Capacity was less of an issues since I was living in a ban state.
Moved and decided to get something newer with more capacity.
Hellcat felt similar to the XDS, with lots of minor improvements to everything resulting in a better experience overall.
HC Pro was more comfortable to shoot than the HC.
Echelon 4.0c shot like a dream compared to them, but it is also a lot larger. The backstrap I have in fits my hand very comfortably, while also being small enough that my wife can use it too.

Still iffy, but they do small guns well. My bodyguard 2.0 had to be sent back for light strikes, but it works great now and i love it for road trips. They polished the feed ramp as well as fixing the light strike issue which others here in /hg/ had pointed to the firing pin or pin channel being the cause of.

If you need a tiny gun they're unfortunately the best designs available if you're prepared to risk getting a lemon because the design was poorly produced.

Yes, China. There are two countries that currently make better lenses, Japan and Germany. They don't make any glass for handgun red dots. As far as I know, there are no countries that are better at electronic component manufacture.

Oh wait no, I forgot Korea. Good glass.

Fired one at a rental range, I really liked it but after shooting my buddies sig 320 10mm, the fn 510, my other buddies glock 40, and my own hi point JXP10 I unfortunately liked the sig the best and the 510 the second best. Try it out yourself i think you'll like it, and unlike the sig it wont have the potential to go off on its own.
>>
Sup, I am trying to decide what handgun to start with, I was thinking on trying and participate in some competition too, the one I looked up a ton is the 92x performance, currently I shot multiple berettas, tanfoglio, some cz and a glock19, and the 98fs(it's a 92fs but with 9x21 instead of 9x19) was the one that felt nicer and got better results.
Do you have any suggestions on the matter? Like what are all those different versions and such like 92XI or what
>>
>>65129918

>>
>>65129928
You say this like it is an issue. It is not.
>>
>>65129922
Depends on which Tanfoglio/CX. The stock series will last you the rest of your natural life, doesn’t matter which one. Stock I, II, III whatever. A CZ75 or adjacent will also be a breeze to be buried with. The 92X performance is also a solid choice and is a lifer pistol. At that price point/caliber, whatever fits your hands the best is what you should go with. There’s an anon with a stock I xtreme who posts every so often, per his reports it’s superb.

At 1.5K-2K, steel frame 9mm, ergo is the main differentiator. Even then, there are grips made by third parties that allow further tweaking since that price point is the beginning of the demographic that will pay a premium for more precise tweaking.

Yeah I actually can't fathom putting Trijicon above Holosun in /currentyear/. The only edge that Trijicon has is the RMR HD which released first and got copied in like a year and a half. If the chinese forward facing light sensor is justasgood then it's over for them.
>>
>>65129939
By itself it's not an issue, but it might become one through a combination with other factors related to intended use.

It's actually really really soft shooting for such a piece of shit. The brick of a slide makes the recoil less sharp than the glock 40. However, my grips were a bit warped from the factory, hence the walnut grips. It's very comfortable to shoot and hold however you can literally feel the slide cer-CHUNK it's way back and forth. I got it for $139 out the door and enjoy it.

I have had some reliability issues with failuresto feed, I just haven't cared enough to send it back. I've heard their warranty service is surpisingly stellar though.
>>
>>65129968
I should add, the warped grips would pinch the skin on the webbing of my thumb every shot. Bad time, so I spend like $80 on the grips for this sub $140 gun and I don't regret it. They're VERY cozy.

If you want to use the classic wood grips like in your pic, you will most likely need to do at least a little bit of filing/sanding to get the right side grip panel to accommodate your ambi safety, as seen in my pic. There were some of those grips that were made with the edge slightly rounded off for the mk 3 ambi safety. But from what I've seen, most of the classic wood grips were not made with an ambi safety in mind. It will depend on what you can find surplus or second-hand. Inspect the listing photos closely. Or you can find reproductions of the classic wood grips new for sale on ebay or something, but will need some fitment.

If you don't necessarily want that exact style of classic grips, and just want some wood grips that are thinner, then the only wood grips that I know of that are thinner than stock are the Hogue hardwood grips or Craig Spegel grips. They don't exactly have that classic look, but they're wood and are slightly thinner, though not as thin as the thin G10 grips that are available.

Kalashnicarver is a bit of a strange nut, but he does good work and makes sets for veprs if you're ok waiting forever and a day for it. He's also raised prices basically every week for the past 4 years. Ironwood literally fucking died so he's not an option unfortunately.

>>65130019
Their barrel proof single barrel ryes are some of the best whiskey on any shelf. Each is unique of course, but most have an incredibly rich maple note to them especially those from barrelhouse 1-07 and 1-09. I think I've gotten about 14? Of them at this point.

Yeah, that ruined me. That being said, it prompted me to get zenitshit back when you could still smuggle it from Russia. I dunno if that’s still possible now, but the shit I bought has quadrupled in price on the third-hand market or however many hands have seen it. Only thing that’s increased in price more is RAM.

I even have a zenitshit foregrip…I completely tacticooled my old ass Vepr-FM. I paid 700 bucks for it brand new, I know the barrels is shot out and I spent more in maintenance than I spent on the rifle itself.

If I could find a barrel for it, I would restore it and just hang it over the mantle. That rifle and I have been through some shit.

I guess story time since /akg/ is compromised:
>go to college
>rent a ranch hand house
>rent is labor + 200 for a farmhouse
>entire fucking farmhouse because Great Recession hadn’t kicked off yet
>the 200 is comped depending on labor
>working the ranch
>feral pigs keep rooting up the place
>old man says I need to take care of them
>how, poison?
>nah just shoot them
>I don’t have a gun
>you need one
>fine, whatever, go to the gun store
>walk up to the counter
>I need a gun
>why
>I gotta kill pigs now because the boss says I gotta kill pigs every day
>cops?
>pause for a moment…no, actual pigs, feral pigs, but maybe the other pigs depending on what you got
>we got a Russian AK, chambered in .308, that’ll take care of the problem
>aight fine whatever (it wasn’t an AK, it was a RPK, but I didn’t know that)
>that’ll be 900 bucks friend
>holy fuck got any other rifle that’s cheaper
>no
>call dad, say I need 900 for a gun
>he says put it on the discover card
>buy it, go home
>old man asks what the fuck is that
>it’s my hog gun
>looks Russian
>it is
>he laughs in my face says it’s a piece of shit
>it was 900 bucks, you want the pigs killed or not
>he gives me a bunch of ammo since it was in .308
>start shooting pigs every day
>before class, shoot some pigs
>after class, shoot some pigs
>learn to use the sights, figure out windage and everything since the sights were fucking amazing
>old man was in Korea, he starts shooting it also, says it’s way better than chink shit and slavshit he bumped into
>never had an issue, would be shooting pigs and the old man’s Lee-Enfield would stovepipe while I was blasting the fuck out of piglets
Good times. If I could find a barrel, I would be torn betwixt putting it over the mantel or shooting said barrel out again.

Heard the veprs are much nicer than the M77 I got, but unfortunately they're probably never coming back at the quality they used to be produced at. Hell of a story though. You ever try Michter's Rye or Sour Mash?
Love the Sour Mash, but the Rye is good as well. The Sour Mash is like a mix between Bourbon and Rye, with a Peach-O's mid palate.
>>
>>65130145
Michter’s rye is good. The sour mash is just basic bitch Tennessee whiskey
>>
>>65130150
It's definitely not a TN whiskey. Not a 51% corn mash bill.
>>
>>65130039
Dark Greetings, kommando.
>>
>>65130164
All “sour mash” is Tennessee whiskey.
>>
>>65130188
You seem to be greatly confused friend. "Sour mash" is a process in which some of the old fermented mash is added to the new batch for consistency. This process can be used in the creation of bourbon and TN whiskey. But what sets TN whiskey apart is that it's made in TN and charcoal filtered. It's still a 51% corn mash bill. It's bourbon that doesn't like to be called bourbon. Michters Sour Mash is a blend of corn, rye, and malted barley that doesn't exceed 51% of any of those ingredients. Nor is it charcoal filtered or distilled in TN. I'm not going to say anything more other than you're wrong, and leave it at that. Already too off-topic for the thread.

You can't just compare brands because Trijicon and Aimpoint make turd specific models.

I would say
Trijicon RCR > Aimpoint COA > (power gap) > Trijicon Rmr HD > Aimpoint acro p2 > (power gap) > Holosun enclosed variants > Trijicon SRO > (probably not worth your time tier) > Trijicon RMR LED type 2 (old as fuck and would not recommend in current year) > Holosun emitter variants > Vortex (Poortex) = Delta Point Pro > (insane power gap) > Osight and other chink shit

Honestly osight has a bad rep and it's earned. But I'm not quite sure what the deal is with olight. Other than that nog who drooled into his handheld light, there hasn't been any other incident. Some people who make fun of olight's WMLs (which are different products not ever held in the mouth) are using Samsung phones which have previously exploded in people's pockets like they said something mean about Israel. Really makes you think.

Anyways, regardless on the warranty part, Trijicon's warranty sucks too so why not get the equivalent sight for half the price? You can buy a whole new Holosun if the original breaks and they don't honor warranty.
