Really love these pictures and I would love to try to duplicate them but I probably don't have a lighting setup, nor could I justify spending 2k+ on a nice camera when I would rarely use them. Best I can do is this with a cheap Android phone and a Streamlight flashlight.

I cannot wait for the Apple iPhone 20th anniversary to come out, that one should have an amazing camera system.

thoughts on a radian ramjet for a concealed gun? Is the concussion with it really that bad
>>
>>65162541
Don't crap on yourself, that looks fantastic! I wouldn't have been able to tell it's from a telephone

Also my setup would probably cost $450 all in by now, DSLRs depreciate like crazy, you can buy everything but the lens dirt cheap (like $200) and there are some REALLY good cheap lenses like the Tamron 28-75 SP and Canon 50mm f1.8. And you don't really even need that "good" because sensor resolution plateaued long ago and you'll have f-stop so high anyway that lens image quality doesn't really matter for this kind of photo. Any kit lens could do great with a 5-10 year old DSLR body and a cheap bounce flash
>>
>>65162552
>is the concussion with it really that bad
It's not as bad as some comps, like the one that comes on the Hellcat Pro, but it's still pretty bad, yeah. I def wouldn't get one for a carry gun.
>>
>>65162559
Every time I look into a camera I see something like a $400 Canon EOS, then its lacking so much even down to still having a MicroUSB charging port when I no longer have a MicroUSB cable. Then if I wanted something like IBIS the price automatically shoots up to $2k. And even at $400 I still can't justify a DSLR when most of the photos I take on vacation(mostly friends/family pics) is on my phone.

Sure I can take a picture of a mountain, but the mountain doesn't interest me like a gun or a knife. And I just can't buy even a $400 to take pictures of guns and knives.

>>65162544
It's not really like most of the pictures Burt post actually stirrs an emotion.
>>
>>65162563
nta but have you ever shot it from the hip?
>>
>>65162596
No, but I have shot comped handguns from close in to my face (like where your hands would be in the high ready pose) to kinda simulate a scuffle, and it was definitely not pleasant.
>>
>>65162595
>assuming it's a charging port at all
pro cameras lag wider consumer market devices in usability, a lot of those micro usb ports do NOT charge the battery even if they could, photogs historically use external chargers instead
in current year this lag is a blessing because at least they still don't have soldered memory and log-in-to-use dystopia yet
>>
>>65162490
>I shot better one handed that two handed today
I do that a lot, especially at 10 yards with my 92fs. Something about that grip just feels really good one handed. But I do practice one handed shooting a lot, because my 92 is my bedside gun and has no rail, my offhand is for my flashlight.

>>
>>65162632
That's probably another reason I haven't bought one yet, I look at a compact camera that I can just throw into my bag for trips and shit. Then I see a review and it would come with either a charger the size of the camera or microUSB or even worst the USB standards used in the PS3.

Put about 150 rounds through that today with a new Wilson Combat “improved” extractor with no issues. Initially I could feed the slide chamber the next round, like a little hiccup when it cycles.

The trigger pull is sub 3 pounds but there is something about it that makes me pull shots left and low when shooting .2 splits or so. Also got trigger freeze on it. I don’t get that with my nighthawk. Perhaps the width of the grip is different.

Went out shooting this weekend to see how much of a difference the x300t makes as a weight, and what a difference. Makes me wonder what the steel weight will do for my USP45. I took 9 shots at 15 yards 1-handed, not very fast paced. One of the holes I’m not sure where it came from, since it didn’t have an accompanying hole in the wood pallet behind it. Had one flyer when I tried to pick up the pace

His content has been so boring of late, goddamn. The bar for most 1911s is literally just working, which any non-retarded company can do. The real challenge is getting the fit right, which just doesn't matter to most consumers.

For example, my drop in comped barrel most likely is causing me to have poor accuracy with that gun. I have to clean the barrel and bring the factory one to confirm. It's fun that it has no recoil though so I might just deal with it.

I don't use a confounded charging port. I have batteries. I don't transfer data with a bedeviled cable. I use CF cards. What the heck is IBOX? You don't need any of that whizbang nonsense. $2k is crazy, I would never.

You only need a good sensor (medium-high prosumer tier from 10 years ago, $150-250), a halfway decent lens (as in $100-150 not $50) and a cheap bounce flash ($40). A bonus would be decent midrange ISO from a somewhat recent body to give you flexibility. You can get my body (7D) for $160, my old lens for $150, my flash for $60. Go look around on fredmiranda.com classifieds. There's Canon 5D body on ebay right now for $170!! That's NUTS imo, though the downside is it limits your lens options because of the big dick full frame sensor

Inside 20 feet, I'm probably cooked either way if I'm passively walking around, and they decide to start stabbing like a fucking ninja. If someone is talking shit and I'm paying attention to them, maybe it might make a difference in the 20~30 foot range? This is assuming they've not brandished a knife yet, or I've not seen the knife. The time between drawing and shooting vs racking the slide before shooting was negligible in my testing.

If they already have a knife out and I can see it, I'd probably GTFO rather than go full Indiana Jones on them. If for no other reason than it does not look good in court if I gunned a dude down when I could have fled. If he starts chasing me with a knife, all bets are off, and he's target practice. I can rack the slide while running, and if he's dumb enough to run into my bullets, that's HIS problem.

An impromptu footrace with someone "unarmed" who can still take your pistol and shoot you with it is also a terrible idea

Unless your assailant is in a wheel chair [Harold Powell], there is no legal way to demonstrate that retreat can be done safely

It looks like a baboon ass, but then again I don't give two shits about anything besides the USP line.
>>
I've put well over a thousand round through my GP100, mostly OTC .357 Mag and I've never had an issue.

Today, while dryfiring, I noticed that the DA trigger sometimes hitches or gets stuck and takes an inordinate amount of force to complete the action. Sometimes this is every sixth trigger pull and sometimes it's every two or three. When it gets a hitch like this, thumbing back the hammer to SA is almost impossible to do

Anyone have any ideas?

They added a mini extractor... to the extractor... which is already painted red and pops out when loaded...?
>>
>>65165073
Their method is less intrusive than Sig, Springfield or S&W IMHO. And I can also buy a non-CA extractor, but HK charges $50 for one which is fucking ridiculous.
>>
>>65165086
To me HK's implementation is more half-assed and just done to please the CA gunlaws instead of actually designing a gun around California.

>>
>>65164694
You should focus on something more important, like removing the magazine disconnect.
>>
>>65165174
Already ordered that part, its $14. The LCI is a $55 part. Cool thing about HK is once you leave the state you can remove all of the CA parts and it would just be a normal VP9. For Sigs/MP/etc. it will always have a slide cut out and barrel cut out as well as a huge hole on the frame for the safety.
>>
>>65165115
Thanks for the censorship, this is a BLU team board
>>
>>65165208
You have to replace a part to disable the magazine disconnect?
>>
>>65165228
I can file down that part but it's cheaper to just replace it.
>>
>>65165230
It appears this post >>65165098 was correct in that the implementation was halfassed. The MD on the 'ech and the 'cat can easily and accidentally be removed by a punch tool
>>
>>65165241
Yea but there will still be a trace on the frame that it was a CA frame. For the VP9 there is not a single trace left that it was made for CA.

oh i have a shitload of handguns, just only a 1911 in 45 acp. i'm old enough for freedom week to have been in my favor i usually carry glocks with real mags.

and it's a sign p220 made in Newinton - NH - USA. it has the rail on the bottom and for 700 bucks it doesn't seem to have very many shots through the tube, really clean.

only comes with one mag though. 700 bucks plus 11% gay tax idk might be worth it.
>>
Went to a gun store and they had a TTI Canik out to fingerfuck. It felt really nice, like something cool to play with even if it's not practical. But I'm not buying turkshit, what other options are there for these factory "gaymer" guns? I was thinking about a shadow 2, didn't walther have one for a bit?

You can get LE trade-ins cheaper.

Caniks are mechanically Walther clones, so if you liked that then anything in the PDP series would scratch that itch.

Hmm. Was thinking about getting an F for the range but maybe I'll see what the L costs.

Redpill me on the CX4. Is it a good first carbine for home defense? I have a million 92 mags laying around
>>
>>65165514
Actually looking into it, I think you're better off just buying the VP9A1F then buying a match slide. Unless you really don't want the extra .5 inch from it. You're probably saving at least a grand and you can always just swap the slides easily enough.

Yes. Paul Harrell I think has a review on it. It’s a robust blowback (?) design. I wish it was updated to modern standards though but you can put a light and optic on it which is all it needs.
