Hello Armed and Retarded General. I bought an MR556 because i had too much money. I am installing an FRT because it is cool. How do I take off the selector lever on this thing? I assume it's this roll pin. If so what size? 3/32nds?

Retard here I need help. Got a new Rearden plan B suppressor mount. I tightened it too much I think and now the conical piece on the right is stuck on my brake. Not sure how to twist it off. Considering I don't plan to ever switch the brake off this gun and keep it suppressed pretty much most of the time, I guess it isn't much of an issue. But I would like to install it properly

If we're larping hard we're not rocking handguns are we? What I linked costs less than a Mavic and can do more, which should satisfy the nay sayer from last thread who complained about economics. I could buy a Fatshark headset, Radio with a Nomad or something on it and multiple of these things for the cost of some Mavic kits and have a couple hundred bucks for batteries to spare.

The Founders were integral to the origins of the ARG collages. Skelly bestowed onto me my moniker. The ARG magazine covers from the Dissipator/605 builder inspired me to start including anons' AR-15's for the FFriday threads. The owner of that M4gery with the green-tan lower kept whinging about not seeing it in any of the OP's so I produced the first collage as a shotgun approach to oil the squeaky wheel(s) but this inadvertently lead to even greater demand for them. Tuwu produced OC inspired by FFriday threads, was the impetus for the voting bloc I assembled and the first to describe it as "the council". Kacey is an original negro of mine and gave the collages their soundtrack [total Carpenters supremacy]. G$ anon, Big "Boresnake" Boss, Fishy and Horse were early supporters and manifested safe travel for me during my holiday flights

maybe, but 14.5 is still objectively faster. Plus you get two full twists of stabilization. Plus softer recoil and increased dwell time which improves reliability...If you want short, go 11.5 > 10.3 > 12.5, and if you're okay going longer for a more GPR type then it goes 14.5 > 16/12.5 >13.x.

I'm chill with 12.5 but it's an almost caregorical compromise

>>65186054
Weird but I think 14.5 is the new 14.5 for all the reasons listed above. 16" does give you a much more appreciable gain in MV compared to the 12.5 -> 14.5 jump. Makes it much easier to justify for UPR/SPR builds, but not necessary for longer ranges

Generally there are 3 plate carrier set ups to plan around. Obviously you are catering this around who your team is and what they can do/bring.

1. Tactical: Plate carrier to protect you and carry some spare mags. Small first aid kit and TQs are welcome but if we have an admin pouch it is small and essentials focused, just enough to fit a resees fastbreak, spare batteries, Leatherman, and your nightvision kit in. Its light on sustainment and is probably used in conjunction with a battlebelt or warbelt. This is your kit for rapid deployment and skirmish. Most people can stop here.

2. Assualter: Sustainment heavy, plenty of ammo at the ready with a heavy focus on direct action. Direct action ironically often means hours of doing nothing or shooting at people who you can't see and are too far away to lay effective lethal fires on. It has an admin pouch with anything ranging from NVG kit, to maps, to communication gear, maybe an optic magnifier or binoculars, even snacks. It goes without saying divy this stuff up among friends and in your pack, these are examples. You certainly have an IFAK either on your belt or on your carrier. This is the kit for looking for a fight or holding a position. Some side soft armor to protect from frag completes this rig for its mission set.

3. Low profile: You wear it under your shirt. Its not a load bearing, it maybe has a mag or two carefully placed for accessibility if the weather appropriate clothing permits. This is nice for not getting shwacked. A little drawstring backpack with essentials (like snacks!) and an IFAK is all you get.
>>
>>65187386
Oh and comfort. Do not undersetimate how miserable you can get in a shitty rig with shitty set up. You'll be flacked up for hours on end. Might as well be cozy.

I'd pare down your '3 PC setups' to 2:
>Overt
>Covert
You yourself seemed to say that the 'Assaulter' is more mindset, and I think Assaulter setup just falls under Tactical
>can range from lighter setups for serving warrants or quick interdiction & infil/exfil stuff
>to being loaded down for longer ops where the carrier benefits from structural properties to bear heavier loads and distribute weight better for additional ammo and sustainment
You can do most overt stuff with a slick, but I agree that comfort will become a concern esp as op duration increases. You can also do covert stuff with tactical PCs, just requires downloading some of the mags/equipment and running a bulkier jacket or shell

>>65187675
14.5" is very nice because plenty of optics with BDCs will naturally pair with it. Takes a little less work on your end. It suppresses well and has fuck tons of data out there on its ballistics for your personal education. The length is nice and managable for weapons handeling stuff while being quite aesthetic and there is basically no tuning needed with midlength gas, maybe a buffer weight tune will be it. It just works, it will always work, and you won't need to think about how it works.

11.5" is minmaxed for weight, reliability, handeling, railspace etc. But you are going to be constantly fucking with it as your shooting habits and gear change. Shorter guns need a lot more thought put into them to be nice to shoot.

You'll be best advised here with a "sky is the limit" approach for learning and doing more with your gun. Neither of those lengths will ever hold you back as you grow.

Oh okay, not bad. If I’m gonna be vain for a moment, the URGI does look really good with the two tone. If I get an 11.5” instead of a 14.5” I’ll probably do URGI, mainly because of the muzzle device (I imagine a can is a must with a shortie) but also because I noticed they have different barrel profiles, so I imagine on the shortie it won’t matter as much. And the rail probably is less likely to lose zero when the rail itself is shorter
>>65187700
Yeah that’s kinda the impasse I’m at, the 14.5” seems more reliable, or at least safe, while the 11.5” is more “minmaxed” like you said
>>65187703

Funny enough I do own one, which is why I’m shopping now. Assuming the rifle is built and tuned properly (don't forget the gas block oring) such that it passes a threshold of acceptable reliability, you can deprioritize the gas characteristics of 14.5 mid. Therefore you can focus on gizmomaxxing, and planning ahead for a well curated and adaptable weapon system - not just some rifle. Make sense? Any asshole can buy a gun and shoot trash. With some thought, you can instead build skills and develop a system that is actually relevant and meaningful to your security.

>14.5 has nothing to offer
Really youre going to be shooting this gun inside of 300m almost exclusively. Probably inside of 100m most of the time. If you are trying to get the gun beyond that you run into ergonomic considerations (platform weight, handguard length, etc) and accessory considerations (optic, bipod, etc) prior to running into ballistic issues of the 3" of barrel chopped off. That 3" of barrel is basically a "free" suppressor, pic rel

Cans are almost always worth the increased weight. Yeah an unsuppressed 11.5 sucks and id actively try to avoid that for sure. But being able to communicate easily while rifles are going off is huge to the whole shoot, move, communicate you should be doing with small arms.
>>65187747

>>65187737

>Magnification
At 500yds with 77gr and an 11.5" barrel you are shooting about two forms up over thr head of your target. This is... fine. You won't hit anything in a gun fight but you'll be enough in the ballpark to bring real danger and therefor effective suppression. Hence the popularity of magnifiers on shorties. Its a fashion statement generally for mag optics on proper SBRs.
>Ammo
I plagerize a lot of A2s stuff so if he says 75gr Gold dots do that. But just blast and train with the dirt cheapest shit you can buy in bulk and memorize the holds of one good people popper type of ammo.
>Reliable
14.5" is going to be in a very technical fashion less reliable with greater longevity.

More gas means more likely to just chomp through a hiccup due to varience in its cycle of operations. More gas also means harsher treatment on moving parts.

So after a certain (and unknown) amount of parts wear the betting man says the 11.5" needs a new bolt/springs/barrel/gaskey/gas rings/ etc first.

You should probably get an 11.5" as you sound like you do go outside and do have friends and do have ambitions.

Talking about a guard for the H250 as well in that post. All PTT should be guarded, way too easy to lay on a radio and become an emitter.

Two choices
1) filaments with metal powder suspended in polymer (colorfabb copperfill, metalfil, etc) that are mostly ornamental, a couple cool uses for those but the strength is weaker than a homogeneous polymer part.
2) filaments with a very small% of polymer compared to metal (Virtual Foundry, BSAF, etc) that you can stinter in a kiln to burn out all the polymer and have a metal object. But doing so requires gear you wont have at home. But it would yield a durable object.

If I was printing for metal performance id print polycast (PVA), then lost filament it in plaster to make a negative to pour molten metal in. The end product is fine enough you can actually see the layer lines in a print. Ive done a healthy amount of it when prototyping mortar shells.
