Did some draw drills with the BG 2.0 and discovered the new pair of shorts I got have too wide of pockets to reliably snag the holster claw on my draw. I could only get it to work about 60% of the time, damn shame I really like these shorts but definitely can't carry with em.

It's not just the one line, it's the usual contractor faggotry where they get federal money and immediately cut QC to fatten their pockets (like Colt who went bankrupt after the government caught on to their bullshit), not to mention their god-awful handling of the controversies surrounding their "one line"

They’ve had more controversies than they’re just one line. The P365 has had some issues, strikers snapping, TRS spring breaking. Overall finishes sucking ass. The cross bolt action firing while on safe. The Sig Spear has issues. MCX reliability issues, there is a body cam video of SWAT having two major malfunctions of their MCX rifles in a gunfight where they have to switch to their pistols.

Every launch they have seems to have issues. P211 GTO early versions had a plastic recoil assembly plug that broke (it was blamed on the YouTuber not assembling the gun right, but Sig changed it to metal afterwards).

Staccato C2 = P with a shorter slide and grip
Staccato CS and C = staccato’s attempt at a slimmer gun using a slimmer magazine. Diverges from standard 2011 parts with a new frame. Discontinued I’m pretty sure. Do not get one
Staccato HD = new design that invalidates the C and CS, drop safe, uses Glock mags, another diversion from standard 2011 parts.

>>
>>65301264
Staccato’s idea was good, but then they completely invalidated it with the HD line. The C and CS was just a 2011 with a different mag, the HD is a lot more feature rich. They were blowing out Cs and I think they even started building them as XCs (island comped) because no one wanted the discontinued frames. Eventually the magazines would be unobtainable.

In early March 1903, Roosevelt received a Colt Model 1902 from Frank Julian Price, the President of Colt Firearms. The gun, a Colt Model 1902 Military pistol with an original ‘Ideal Patent’ combination leather holster/wire stock, left the factory on March 1. The gold inlaid initials “T.R.” appear on the left side of the slide just below the ejection port.
The practice of presenting special firearms to diplomats and other high-ranking officials had been famously pioneered by Samuel Colt in the early 1850s in an effort to win favorability and solicit potential military contracts. The Model 1902 presented to President Roosevelt was one of the first 100 manufactured and appears to have been the Commander in Chief’s first direct encounter with Colt’s revolutionary semi-automatic design.

This Model 1849 Pocket Revolver belongs to a rarefied group of Colt percussion firearms decorated with profuse engraving, relief carving, and flush or low relief gold inlay, of which about twenty examples are known to survive. Made at Samuel Colt’s (1814–1862) direction for exhibition at international fairs and for presentation to important officials and foreign and domestic heads of state, including the kings of Sweden and Denmark and the Czar of Russia, they functioned as diplomatic gifts and demonstrations of the company’s artistic and technical achievements.

Anons,

Im a novice in handguns. I can group well (all in a b8 at least, out to 20yds.) at a range with irons or a red dot but my recoil management/grip are iffy. That being said I currently dont have a handgun at all but I want to get a trp or operator since they offer it with a COA.

Am I fucking myself by getting 45acp? I did shoot two older model operators in 9/45 and admittedly the former was easier to shoot. But gel tests in 45 makes it seem appealing to me.

9mm is cheaper, a lot cheaper these days, and a 9mm 1911/2011 recoils like silk. If properly sprung and all. Gel tests are gel tests, I personally carry a .45 since I like .45, but 9mm is still effective. .45 or 9, you still need to hit a vital organ for a handgun to stop someone.

The COA is a great deal, but you’re locked into the COA. Which isn’t a bad thing at all. It’s just that Colt Optic’s just released an ACRO style optic they claim is assembled in the U.S. and has claimed great performance (75k hours on a 2032). I just want to have a Colt optic on a Colt 1911 just for the sake of it.

I opted for the 10-8 Masterclass instead of the TRP COAs.

>>65301389
Of course! Dude do not carry a 1911 with the safety off.

I flip it off as soon as the gun starts going vertical, a little too soon but it’s a habit I need to train out. I have the slow mo videos you can literally hear the click of the safety after like 15 degrees of movement.

>>
>>65301407
>till need to hit a vital organ for a handgun to stop someone
I'm not going to claim to be any expert, but at the very least I've seen enough videos to see people drop very fast from 9 without taking shots to vitals. Unless they're strung out on so much PCP and meth that they feel nothing, but you were going to need a lot of force of anything to bring them down.
>COA
I actually just picked up a COA, seems fine. I realized I'm not a huge fan of not having shake awake on a handgun though. I'm not the anon you're responding to, but yeah that colt optic looks interesting. However, I also want the PA HTX or Holosun's new AEMs are coming out soon. Lots of options. One of them is going to be used on my rifle too.

It's an aimpoint, you can just leave it always on and it should last a year. Shake awake to me always has the failure mode of not turning on, it's constantly turning off and on and one day it's not going to turn back on when you need it, theoretically. When battery life in dots is good enough it could always be on for a year at middle brightness, allegedly.

It’s corruption that adopted the P320, the Glock was more reliable, more accurate, the Sig was chosen because of certain generals getting kick backs and comfy jobs. They canceled the 35k round reliability test because they knew the Sig P320 was going to trashed by the Glock, they went 12k rounds and the Glock was beating it.

Beretta offered M9A3/M9A4s cheaper than what they were currently paying for the M9 and were rejected. All the parts, magazines, training, M9A1 holsters, could have been reused. Over the M9’s life span, Beretta was not allowed to implement improvements to the locking block, the Gen 3 locking block lasts 2-3 times as long as the Gen 1.

I truly love the 1911, but it is simply not a practical gun for the average person. It was designed for professionals over 100 years ago, and it remains most effective in the hands of professionals today. If you just want a gun you can reach/maintain an acceptable level of proficiency with fairly easily and carry day-in and day-out without an annoying level of maintenance, the 1911 is not it.
The vast majority of 1911 owners/fanboys don't even understand this.

9mm 1911s are based, and a pleasure to shoot, and I will not pretend otherwise.

But the gun you can and will shoot. 9mm 1911s are some of the most pleasant to shoot guns there are.

Glock 45 is more of a duty gun. Get a Glock 49 for conceal carry
>>
>>65301615
The 226 won barley but cost too much. Nowhere near the corruption of the p320
>>
>>65301633
I don't need a conceal carry, these are purely range toy purchases at this point.

You post that here in spite of not visiting the pistol range?

The coa has an automatic gate down after a period of inactivity to prolong battery life. Imho you'll be fine.
>>
>>65301332
I'm liking the MM commander. You're gonna need an extended mag release, and if you have a safety, you'll need an extended safety too. I found a non-abi one that works well.

I've got the cock deleter without a safety so all I would need is the mag release. Yours does look good, I like the flush fit. Pic related is what I was considering going if I went with MM.

>Lets honor revolvers too
OK. I just got my first one and I love it, but I suddenly understand why the J frame is so popular. Also, Smith got it right with the Push cylinder latch. My new grips came in yesterday and I think it looks much better now.

>>65301571
I've only used my buddy's 407k with 6moa red dot. It was pretty sweet. Outside of that I have little experience with pistol dots
>>
>>65301688
Try your best to go to a store and see the dot in person before buying. I need to either trade someone for a red or sell the aforementioned EPS Carry. What should be a 2 MOA dot was a 6 MOA burst last night. I can probably make it work but I think it will cause me more headaches. Either way, don't be like me and buy sight unseen.

Thanks for the input, anon. I'll look around and see if I can try one out locally

>>
>>65301612
Yeah, the focus is definitely on modern semiautomatics and those three at definitely the most popular manufacturers. There are a few Walther Chads in here, too. I don't personally own any Smiths, but I am starting to eyeball some all steel J frames.

>I've posted my model 36 before.
Based, post it again, please.
>There was one Anon that conceal carried a R8
Also based. I mostly meant this specific thread, but yeah, it's rare to see revolvers of any make and the odd Smith is usually a Sheild or Bodyguard with a few CSXs when those were new.
>>65301611
I have my 1911 for the same reason I have my Cobra, I just think it's neat and they remind me of a past I was never part of. It finally did that stub jam every 1911 I have ever owned has done Thursday, but it took over 500 rounds to do it, so at least there is that. If it does it too much, I'll probably just stop shooting it. I can't imagine ever carrying it anyway and I don't want to get rid of it.

Get one with ajustable rear sight. Also look into second hand sig 1911 in 9mm if you are in europe, they can be surprisingly cheap.

It's crazy but it's true. I leave my rifle optics on for years at a time before changing batteries. I keep a little notebook with round counts and battery changes for various guns.

>>65301553
For me it's a 92 then a 1911 and then a g17 which will get optics and everything. Then a 75 compact which I'll get the slide milled and put that on my p01.

retarded post. the 1911 is fucking simple to operate, and extremely accurate if you concentrate and practice your trigger squeeze. the trigger system even on a shit tier GI model is miles ahead of any DA.
