the shadow 2 is more expensive and a more competitive version
its slightly better in every way but much more expensive

>>65368131
Thank you. I think I'll get a P-01 and cajunize it.
>>
>>65368141
ah, if you compare a cajunized p01 its gonna be similar to a shadow 2 carry, however youre gonna end up doing a lot of work
you might as well skip it and just get the carry instead
or do the math on how much each of them would cost

also look into the shadow 2 compact, it has a better trigger but no firing pin block, and a manual safety instead of a decocker

also the sights are different on compact and carry, the compact has better adjustable sights, carry is fixed. however the carry doesn't require adapter plates for optics but the compact does

Aside from cost, is there any reason to get a Shield Plus over an HK CC9? I like the CC9 more (still need to handle it) but the plus would be a direct upgrade for me though I've heard some have a wonky optics cut that I wouldn't want to deal with. Does that affect all of them or what?

>slide releases harder to drop on an empty mag compared to if it has rounds
When empty, the follower presses the slide catch upward so your thumb essentially has the magazine force against it. When the magazine is loaded or removed, only the friction between the catch and slide opposes your thumb.

>>
>>65368731
Production capacity certainly didn't go into the mags. Look at those prices before you buy one.
>>
>>65368702
Surprising, didn't expect anyone else to own one. In my case the first 50-100 shots after cleaning work fine and then all kinds of fucky stuff starts happening.

Casings get stuck and I have to fiddle it out with a knife. The bolt carrier doesn't fully go into battery and has to be forced. After the last shot the magazine ejects itself and jumps out by a few mm. Feeding the first bullet doesn't work and I need to play around with the bolt so it aligns properly in the mag and gets fed. When loading a considerable resistance can be felt and ammo has to be manually pushed into the chamber. Other times the primer doesn't ignite. Tried the three most common types of ammo around here, settled for CCI Blazer as it allowed me to at least have some fun before the trouble starts.

I tried screwing the charging handles in less tight but that helped little if at all. Most likely I just don't clean it properly, never had it disassembled completely. I only remove the casing and bolt carrier, cover everything in oil, scrub and dry. Light coat of oil on the barrel and bolt carrier. That's what the manual states but I guess that's not enough. I tried taking out the roller pin fixing the firing pin for cleaning but couldn't get it out.

After how many shots does yours start to show any of those issues if at all? Any tips on how to clean / oil it properly?
>>
>>65368753
I don't understand what you're referring to. There's only the extended mag release and the spring loaded piston that pushes out the mag. I can find both of them in your pic.
>>
>>65368269
Shield plus has a much better trigger. Cc9 has slightly better recoil control. They are essentially the same physical dimensions. Shield has that grittier feel on the grip and cause some discomfort if you carry it close to the skin. Shield mags are cheaper and you can even find the package deal right now that comes with a range bag and 6 mags for the same price as the base model with just 3 mags. I love my shield plus but I don't carry it as much as even my g19. My cc9 sits in my desk drawer longing for the day that I remember it is there before I go to work. You might also consider the sigger 365X which is roughly equivalent to the cc9 and shield plus
>>
File: breech.jpg (265 KB, 998x1331)
265 KB JPG
>>65368790
It sounds like there's a serious dimensional problem with the chamber. You're describing classic chamber face deformation which is common in some models of .22 when dry firing excessively, but the SP22 has a design that should prevent that from happening at all (pic related, the top half of the firing pin tip impacts the breech face well above the chamber). In those susceptible designs, a burr can get pushed down into the chamber opening and it will grab brass going in and coming out, causing almost all of the problems you laid out. But I can't believe that's happening unless the gun is damaged. Can you take a pic of the breech face like pic related?

I have cleaned the gun twice but I don't shoot it that much. Cleaning shouldn't be an issue, the only place I see cleaning help my .22s is after a few hundred rounds of suppressor use, and only on a select few guns. I have never had any of those problems.

At 7 yards my second group on this diamond was one hole with a rental cc9. I fucking loved the way it shot, I loved the trigger, I loved the rubberized feel of the grip that feels like a hogue overmolded grip. I just HATE the way it looks. It's unfortunate that it may be the best micro compact I've handled.
>>
>>65369256
I've read the cc9 has a good trigger, the lack of paddles is keeping me from picking it up
>>
>>65369265
Funny enough the lack of a button option is whats really keeping me from the VP9cc. Different strokes and all that. I've shot literally every micro compact except the mossberg, CSX-E, VP9CC, and Mako (did finger fuck it though and it SUCKED) and I think the ugliest is the cc9 and unfortunately the one I shot the best is also the cc9

You see, when Pastebin does something fucking obviously stupid, like spending an hour to make his own cardboard targets with sharpies rather than paying Amazog 25 cents for one, you can readily dismiss him as a retard, prima facie. Pastebin is like Wimp Lo from Kung Pow, he’s very obviously dumb and wrong and can be dismissed as a meme.
When the pseud cerakote 509 guy just spouts whatever Fumble Shartsman or Scott Faglinski said in their last video, it doesn’t actually add anything. In fact, that sort of action only confounds people new to handguns. It’s literally picrel.
Pastebin knowingly makes these threads worse, but I’m pretty sure the 509 guy thinks he’s in the right. I don’t know which is more troubling.

decibels are logarithmic
155dB is 3,000 times more sound energy than 122
OSHA's PEL for sound at 115dB is 15 minutes per day, and even a full hour of agressively running drills is not likely to exceed 15 minutes of sound-time since gunshots last maybe a tenth of a second

Definitely clean all that off everywhere and use a decent oil instead. Gummy grease causes too much drag especially with low velocity low power stuff like .22, that could also be the problem. Low bolt velocity due to grease

I do IH, OSHA and MSHA PELs for noise are wildly out of date. Look at the ACGIH for what the state of the industry says it should be and weep for all the people going deaf. dB's are logarithmic, so sometimes I'll get a dose below action level that ACGIH would consider beyond 100% of a dose. Anything over 140 is straight up unacceptable, but 120 is probably a wiser limit to prevent the EEEE.

It is the ultimate form of the 92. Imagine it. Full steel frame. Flush fit 20 round mags. The optic cut is allegedly 3mm lower than the last one so it should be on par with the LTT optic cut but with the advantage of fixed irons.

I always hear about doubling up but seemed entirely unnecessary for me as I always shoot outside. I guess the reason a lot of people have to is because of indoor ranges? Or am I just unknowingly giving myself hearing damage? Really doesn't feel like it

ALWAYS double up when shooting any gun unsupressed.

nta, but question- I’m the .38 anon from earlier. If I just wore earplugs (no doubles) outdoors, is that not near as bad?
>>
>>65371367
It's more like 980 after tax but I'm still not sure if it'd go lower. I wish I grabbed it when they did the rebate.
>>
>>65371232
Imagine shooting that thing indoors at a home intruder without ear pro.
>>
>>65371375
NTA. not as bad since there is no wall or ceiling to reverb the sound, at the muzzle shit is loud but at the shooter's ear it's not as bad. When people measure gunshots they tend to do it at the muzzle and not the shooter's ear.

revolvers are louder due to the cylinder gap at peak pressure

I still double up outdoors
>>
>>65371381

>>
>>65371375
I mean, if you are worried, it costs almost nothing to double up
Realistically proper earplugs are probably good enough for 38spl, but it varies between plugs
I don’t double up for pistol matches generally because they are all usually quiet enough that I leave the match hearing just fine without my tinnitus acting up
>>65371382
My plan is to avoid having to talk to the police until I have a lawyer by screaming “WHAT?!” At them repeatedly

Was in the mood to buy a new DA/SA gun and since I don't own a P226, I was looking last night on GB

https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1190047634
>>
>>65370640
i do have that too, sometimes tinnitus is not caused by a damaged ear cannal but by bones or some other shit going on in the brain, in rare case it can be a muscle causing it.

some anons kept saying that doubling up will do the job but actually no, they are still at risk, the shockwave of each detonation from a firearm make the inner part of your ears shake and that also can cause tinnitus, now am i saying that doubling up won't do shit? no, but instead of dealing with EEEEEEEEE you'll have to deal with eeeeeeeeeee.

oh and, that's my words for indoor ranges, for outdoor there's no need to double up unless your next to artillery or .50BMG and don't be concerned about the shockwaves either.
>>
>>65371391
>>65371407
Very informative, thank you anons.
I will double up from now on, but that does make me feel a LOT better. Someday I want to get one of those microphones to measure sounds that concern me so I can better protect my ears.
I love .38 special.
>>
>>65371344
The only change I make is indoors I wear foamies under earpro, outdoors I'll go with the slightly less effective concert earplugs because usually when I'm shooting outside I need to talk to people (matches, friends on the farm, etc) and they sound better that way.
>>
>>65371407
>My plan is to avoid having to talk to the police until I have a lawyer by screaming “WHAT?!” At them repeatedly

Since the explosion happened at the machines, my bet is neglect in one form or another. Either:
A) The operators weren't cleaning them as frequently as they should've been and let the dust build up in/around the machinery
B) Dust extraction was clogged, undersized or otherwise fucked up
Both indicate that neither the managers, supervisors, or the floor guys give a fuck about maintaining a safe work environment around an EXTREMELY hazardous industrial process.
Owning nu-SIG is an indicator of low intelligence and weak character.

.40 S&W is still more powerful than 9mm and people stopped shooting it because it was harder to shoot than 9mm. 180gr 1100 FPS is still at least 100 FPS faster than .40 S&W loads

Magtech 10mm is a little bit more powerful than S&B but the same price.

Haven't tried magtech yet, but I do like fiocchi 10mm. It definitely feels like it recoils harder, but shoots much straighter. I think I convinced myself that S&B and Magtech were the same because they are both owned by CSG.
