>>65417868Let's have a good thread guys, lots of OC, good vibes only
The story so far: gun has been temperamental with some periods of reliability and then others with constant premature lock back issues. Pic related. In part 4 Nighthawk rebuilt the entire top end of the gun, like 1500–2000 thousand dollars of work for free, on receipt I was having issues with the lock back on empty and also premature lock back. The smith throughly test fired this gun again. He discovered my Tripp Cobra 10mm mags had the ability to jostle under recoil and the mag body itself was impacting the slide stop and causing slight premature lock back. Not sure if he said the Wilsons did it but he said the gun had no issues with their new mag. Nighthawk actually developed a new 10mm 1911 magazine which would alleviate this and were kind enough to send 8 of them for free with the gun back because I had sent them 8 mags to test.
>>65417891>The story so far: gun has been temperamental with some periods of reliability and then others with constant premature lock back issuesGlocks don't have this issue (it just works)
>>65417891>gun has been temperamental with some periods of reliability and then others with constant premature lock back issues. It's crazy how unreliable and inconsistent of a gun you can get for several thousand dollars when you could have bought a Glock that just work
very organic posts, guysgreat job
>>65417891>Nighthawk actually developed a new 10mm 1911 magazine which would alleviate this and were kind enough to send 8 of them for free with the gun back because I had sent them 8 mags to test.I mean it sucks that you've had these kinds of issues, but that's some damn fine customer service.
I’m planning on getting nods as my next big purchase, because why not?Talk me into eventually saving up for a suppressor for my Gen 2 Glock 17 instead of buying a .300 blackout upper for my AR, and suppressing that.I want to try hunting coyotes.
>>65417957>>65417961It’s the nature of 10mm 1911s and I’d like to see you guys shoot .2 splits with a 10mm Glock and enjoy it like I do with my NIGHTHAWK PREDATOR.
>>65417891>magsI've never had a problem with Wilson or DW mags. I've never tried Tripp.Hopefully those new NH mags solve your issue.
>>65417891My nu-cobramag 45 mags also jiggle around in the frame, but to be completely honest my slide is off getting milled for sights and I haven't had a chance to test them in anything but the bare frame. For what it's worth I haven wilson mags and dozens of cheapo sarco/mec gar mags and they don't wiggle up or down
>>65417993I did have issues with Wilson’s, DW, and Chip McCormick mags Interesting that these Nighthawk mags have a convex style follower
>>65417984I'd put my dick in it.
My friend gifted me this light. I like it. Now I just need to replace the broken rear sight.
>>65418003Tripp mags are well regarded, I think it’s just the recoil of 10mm in this case.My Dan Wesson 10mm had the same issue, the mags might have caused it but I was seeing problems with both Wilson’s and Tripp. And McCormick. And the DW stock mags. I’ve had very terrible luck with 10mm 1911s
>>65417984Poor sticker qc
>>65418018They were recently acquired by some new blood after John Tripp (idk his name just guessing) retired. They are in the same industrial zone as Staccato and Dawson Precision in texas now. I don't know what this really means, it's possible that cobramag will just end up being the OEM for staccato and coincidentally make single stack mags on the side. I don't really think Cobramag has engineers or people who know what they're doing anymore, I worry about the quality of cobramags. I have no proof that Tripp Research ever actually made its own magazine tubes in the first place, it's entirely possible Checkmate made them for them.
>>65418042Virgil Tripp is actually one of the founders of staccato (when it was called STI) the T stood for Tripp, Strayer Tripp International. I wouldn’t go blame the mag body so quickly, the mag release and its location also has some to blame. Nighthawk just might have made a fucked up frame, this gun originally as it was only locked back on empty with Wilson Combat mags. Not the chip McCormick mags which were the “OEM” mag.
>>65418006>Interesting that these Nighthawk mags have a convex style followerHm, so do the mags that came with my specialist.I guess I've been lucky. There is some peeing on the front of the slide stop cut that maybe indicates the slide stop was getting bounced up a little bit like yours, but getting knocked back down again before the slide actually started to return to battery. If my slide stop cut was a little longer, maybe I'd have had the same issue?Idk, so far so good. Maybe 1k rounds, possibly 1500 now? I haven't done good at keeping track. Almost 100% magtech.
>>65417984>>65417891>>65417868>nighthawkHave a nighthawk, frens.
>>65417890Deal.
>>65418105You live in AZ right? Where abouts?I taking a job in Tucson, any reason I shouldn’t do this? About 60% more than my last job
>>65418105>>65418105For me, it's Adolph's Banquet Beer.
>>65418192Would
>>65418215So, you're saying you want to slide your worm in there?
>>65418209Yeah I'm in north Phoenix atm.I lived in Tucson for years. I genuinely liked it. Like any city, it has areas that are total shitholes and areas that are very nice. It's a "smaller" city so don't expect a major metro vibe, but very sprawled so you probably won't go too much outside your area. Choose where you live carefully, and check commute times to where you'll be working. If the raise is that big, it's probably worth it. Cost of living is higher now like everywhere but still middle of the road or even in the lower side US-wide, but not as low as the midwest. If you're on the North side of town, like Oro Valley, the best range is PPC in Catalina. Bit of a drive but worth it, it's where Ian from forgotten weapons started shooting 2gun. There used to be a few rally solid LGS but idk how they are now - the one I worked at has been sold to new owners.Biggest reason to not do it is that the SW is going to get ultraraped by climate change and water shortages over the next 30 years, but it's not going to be an all at once thing so you have time. Tucson gets more rain and slightly lower temps than Phoenix at least, and the natural desert around there is wayyyy nicer. Hike Pusch ridge, Romero pools, drive up Mt. Lemmon. Eat Nicos. Go meet an alt-girl at The Loft during a showing of cult movies. Catch some live music at Tap & Bottle. Work for Raytheon. It's not bad. If I still lived there I'd be saying fuck off were full and telling you how shitty it was.
>>65417891You take the hits, so we can save our money. Bless you
>>65418239Yeah I already picked Oro valley since it is like the #1 safest area in Arizona. Already saw PPC, was making the decision where I was going to live based off the nearest good range.Thanks. I don’t know about the talking to women thing though.
>>65418280I’ll still recommend nighthawk custom just because the brand name rolls of the tongue nicely.
>>65418287>already picked Oro valleyLived there for 10+ years. If you can stand the summers and it not being very "hip" you'll like it. I'd end up back there if work wasn't taking me out of state.Dropped my burner in the namefield, will tell you anything you might want to know about the place.
These two guns fit the same holster. Kind of. The CSX could be forced into a 1911 holster and with a trigger safety + manual safety I trust it.
>>65418343
>>65417868Why make the new thread so soon? Not complaining just curious.
>>65418356Previous thread was toxic, this one's chill.
>>65418239>>climate changeGrow up, faggot
>>65418356whenever it hits the bump limit (310) is the norm, many people don't like to post at ~280 or so since their posts will only be seen for a few hours until everyone moves to the new threads used to last at least 2 days but they're now like 24 hours
>>65417891Here I am just happy with a basic Colt Govt ModelI need to clean that fucker soon, probably this weekend.
>>65418374You're dumb as fuck nigger, but obviously too room temp to help. Rapefugee status soon.
One day I will get a flintlock pistol and LARP as a pirate
>>65418322I’m naturally anti social so I already know all that I need. Where I’m going to sleep and the where to go shooting
Okay I believe this is the final version (unless I missed something). Added an option for both times and un-timed. So now there's basically 4 brackets.>untimed 10 yards printed target>timed 10 yards printed target>untimed 25 yard USPSA target>timed 25 yard USPSA targethttps://files.catbox.moe/brwglb.pdf
>>65418405I bought the Colt Limited Government>worst 1911 trigger I have ever seen, creep for miles >rusting out of the box (light surface rust at the front sight, came right off) >super sharp edges, sharp edges at the ends of the serrations that are worrisome >trigger shoe is was super short I then >replaced hammer, sear, and safety >trigger shoeIt’s quite nice now. It’s rattly but not enough to be a complaint. Gold bead sight is nice. Their super aggressive trigger guard undercut is nice. I do hate the rollmark on the right side being “limited edition”, I don’t need my fucking gun to advertise that it’s “limited” why can’t it be “Colt’s Government Model” like the old ones, or say Model of 1911 U.S Army like the rollmark from the other side is aping.
>>65418459LMAOOOOO
>>65418514The mossad agent didn't shoot off the draw lmao, he took like 10 seconds for first shot and he missed everything
>>65418518
>>65418518The shooter was moving, and was quite a distance away from him - and just iron sights. I'm sure you haven't trained for this scenario. Give him a break, it's real easy to be a little fag on the internet criticizing him.
>>65418527I will give him a break since I think he was >30 yards away and trying to hit a target at full deflection that’s moving. I won’t give him a break for carrying a subsonic five seven with a suppressor and light, and not a RED DOT OPTIC.
>>65418527> I'm sure you haven't trained for this scenarioI regularly shoot 2-gun matches so actually yeah I do
>>65418527>Criticizing shlomo BADI'm pointing out that the drill is fucked because he didn't shoot off the draw, don't name it after little bibi if he didn't do exactly what your drill is. If anything the drill should start unholstered
>>65417891Shoulda bought a Staccato. You live and you learn.
>>65418040Yikes!>>65418405What character is your little pedo doll? What gun does she have?
>>65418618NTA but She carries a modified Detonics Combat Master with a frame mount comp/stand off device.
>>65418533>I won’t give him a break for carrying a subsonic five seven with a suppressor and light, and not a RED DOT OPTIC.Totally fair, and I agree. I need to get a slide or two cut now.
>>65418646Then there was the off duty cop who wasn’t carrying with a round in the chamber and then couldn’t rack the slide after he got shot bad in the arm. A lady picked up the discarded pistol from the shooter but couldn’t figure out how to unjam it I think a 4th person, another off duty cop was there
>>65418671Cops are cops, clown on them all day. They should be more proficient and knowledgeable, but they choose not to train. As for the normies... they're normies.
>>65418618Chisato from Lycoris RecoilShe carries what this anon said>>65418625 and it pretty much is a 1911 mechanics wise
Hand is sore from .45 supers, am I really this much of a pussy

85% sure my parents saw the keychain. Do I kill myself? Also, are we feeling 1000 fps or make these go 1150 for the meme?
>>65418773At least a monthShits hard when you can't buy pallets of ammo all the time
>>65418391>many people don't like to post at ~280 or so since their posts will only be seen for a few hours until everyone moves to the newThis, and then I'm paralyzed because I have horrible luck and tend to get ninja'd seconds before I click post, but my horrible luck also makes no one make a new thread until post 450
>>65418799I like the revolver anon, is it a model 66?
>>6541881569. I was fucking dumb with my first batch of reloads and put 11 ~45k psi rounds through it. Thankfully it's built like a tank at the cylinder and the forcing cone is okay
Just a small collection.
>>65418791He deleted??
>>65418838A balanced collectionI also have a Jericho but that gun is pretty much a safe queen
>>65418763What a legend. Having a G19 was best case scenario. From 40 yards i don't hit shit with my pocket 380.
>>65418763>>65418915He wasn't at 40yrds the entire time, he moved closer to the shooter and even braced against a pole or column at one point. Not to take away from his bravery, but not the same situation. Although, I did read somewhere his sights were fucked or damaged, but I don't know about the veracity of that claim.
>>65416643>Even when the film or show is good, those covers always look cheap to meYeah I agree, I had a set of the LOTR trilogy with stills from the movies on each cover and cheap is a good word for how it felt, even though I love the movies. This one I think is pretty cool but it was my parent's. They took me to see it in theater even though I was way too young. They read the book though so they had to have known what was coming.
>>65418927Crichton is good, I loved Airframe and The Andromeda Strain.
>>65418882Not that poster but the Jericho is such a beast. Something about the slide makes it feel like it shoots flatter than my sp01
I love retro games, bros. Fuck the new shit.
I want a 2011 but I don't have no money. Should I commit Turkiye, prodigy, or something else?
>>65418954Just get a >>65418213>>65418105And be done with it.
>>65418799Yeah you should kill yourself and join Ember's ghost squad, but please don't take out any of your wagie coworkers first.

>>65419039Honestly the Jericho is my favorite it's just aims effortlessly, Point and shoot never gave me trouble. As for shooting the most the CZ 75 D and the 75 P07 have put the most lead downrange.

every few years i like to forget that ruger makes shitty handguns and somehow i get memed into buying one
>>65419058>>65419087Damn, I need to read more Crichton. I only have a couple under my belt, and those books have hooked by their synopsis alone.
>>65418954I love my Poverty. It's a great shooter at a good price. Only thing I don't like is the gunk it ejaculates onto the lens, but I gather that's a common 2011 thing with forward mounts
Bros, are suppressors legal now? Did we win?
>>65419126They've never not been legal old bean
>>65418459Cool, I'll give it a go
>>65419126Yeah. Cans are fun>>65418954Just don't get the DS Warrior or any other 2011 without a steel frame as the recoil reduction is like the whole point of a 2011. Prodigy has a dubious rep due to the first several years of it's production being plagued with QC issues but they seem to be much better built now. Could be improved QC, could be a mid generation upgrade/update they never advertised like the ones sig is famous for.
I just spent $46 on flashlight accessories :-(
>>65418459>>65418514>>65418518>>65418521>>65418527>The shooter was moving, and was quite a distance away from him>>65418533>I will give him a break since I think he was >30 yards>DO THIS!>TRAIN THIS!Blah, blah all of this is massively gay cope. That guy missed all of his shots. Good on him for trying, but the lesson here isn't any retarded drills to shoot. The lesson is that instead of a retarded FN 5.7 with a suppressor, he would have been better off carrying just about any other basic duty pistol in a non-gay caliber, with a zeroed red dot on it.
>>65419235A long barreled revolver would have been cool to see for that.>long sight radius>big bore>light single action
>>65418671>Then there was the off duty cop who wasn’t carrying with a round in the chamber and then couldn’t rack the slide after he got shot bad in the arm.>I think a 4th person, another off duty cop was there.I believe that was a former LE of some type. He walked up the drive through lane, likely in order to investigate the initial gunshots that killed the girl working the window, and the old guy in his car. I don't think he even had his gun out, and he was shot by the gunman. An off duty state trooper was in the In-N-Out and later attempted to confront the shooter through the pay window and was shot at, possibly an exchange of fire, and was repelled back from the window. The part about the lady picking up the jammed pistol is correct. Neither the shooter, nor her, knew how to reduce the malfunction.
>>65419291I saw the video, the cop had his gun but the gunman was obstructed from his view. He dashed over, and around the corner the POS saw him first and shot him in the arm/shoulder area. He's was bleeding profusely, and had to retreat for medical attention.

>>65419308>I saw the video, the cop had his gun but the gunman was obstructed from his view.OK, your memory is better than mine. From what I remember seeing, it didn't seem like the guy was thinking that he was walking into the opening salvo of an active shooter situation.
>>65419352It's not 2010 anymore. There are options other than Surefire that are just as reliable.

>>65420592Concept III of my Ultimate Conceal Carry Battle Pistol project, UCCBPP, .45 2011 with a 4 inch barrel.Ultimately this is a wash since it’s kind of ugly looking, I’m moving on. Really just want to put the word out that the niggas at Schaefer Defense are legit, I was ready to claim all sorts of false sales and bullshittery but nope, they sent a NIB 507 Comp ronin for about 100$ cheaper than everyone else on GB and certainly my LGSs. >>65420427Depends! I have the Bodyguard 2.0 "carry comp" which is .380 and has a big wide top port. It sounds like an average 9mm. A Glock with a ramjet that has diagonal/side ports or something high pressure like a .357 sig or 10mm is *considerably* louder than it would be with a stock barrel.

So I didn’t become a fan of Glocks really until relatively recently. I’m aware about the controversy with California and switches, causing Glock to stop selling the Gen 3, 4, and 5. Anyways I checked out Glock’s website and apparently they still sell the Gen 3 but it’s only available to law-enforcement. So I assume we can no longer just outright by a new Gen 3? Is that how this works?

Plus I wonder about parts availability and whatnot. Idk what Gens are available with what parts.
>>65421410The parts compatibility over the various generations is kind of a mess, because it varies by model. Gen 3 and 5 parts are both still readily available, but now that both are discontinued, the OEM parts might start drying up. Aftermarket makers will pretty much always be a thing in that space, though. If you’re paranoid like I am about stocking up on OEM spare parts, you might want to do so before (((Lenny Magill))) raises his prices again.

But get this shit, one of the requirements is loading and shooting 5 rounds down range safely. They only gave me a pair of muffs for an indoor range. Dicks.
>>65421432I mean it's not going to immediately damage your hearing, you won't get tinnitus from one range trip with muffs only. But hearing is a precious thing and even minor occasional damage is permanent and builds up. Always go over the top with earpro.

Why hasn't some gun airost gone out and recorded different ammo at different barrel lengths to find the ideal length for popular handguns? >>65421280All I see are jew stars.

If not micro compacts like the shield plus are really difficult to learn on if you don't have good fundementals already. If you don't shoot 300+ rounds a month through your handguns or never have then I'd reccomend the compact 2.0. The compact is a tremendous option especially with the apex trigger upgrade. Pic rel the m&p is great, dudes got another 100k rounds through this gun since that was posted and still no failures. What was your whimsical gun pick you were considering? I finally got out to the range, bros, and I'm a terrible shot. I took a few guns including my M9A1 for the first time and a S&W Model 29. I was anticipating and flinching almost the whole time. My good groups were about the size of a big orange with my bad groups being the size of a small dinner plate. I was drenched in sweat the whole time, and my grip was breaking down after only a few rounds. I would set my gun down sometimes just to reset. I think I did better with my .44 and scored a decent amount of bullseyes, and my double action pull on my Beretta was better than my single action shots. I think I might get a membership at this place because it's super nice, and I need a ton of practice. There was an old guy in the lane next to me shooting super tight groups. gotta be like him.Oh, also the roll pin in the safety/decocker on the M9 kept starting to come out. I had to smush it back in a few times.

Dry firing also helps immensely for this. Dry fire your M9A1 in both SA and DA. Same with your revolver. Learn how to pull the trigger without disturbing the sights. I don't know if this will help, but think about what you do after the shot, try this drill. >>65422253Also, the goal is to bring the muzzle back to the target. Don’t dip it below the target, you want to bring it back to the POA smoothly but don’t over shoot. You want your gun to be the purple response. Not over or under damped

>>65422199He's a fag.
>>65422764>missed out>on .40Only women and brown people should be allowed to buy .40 Soft and Weak. Real men just buy 10MM

>>65422764For me its .40sw guns built from the ground up to be in that caliber, not 9mm converted afterthoughts yes im specifically praising the USP
>>65421696Why would somebody want to get rid of the decocker function if when decocked the hammer is just sitting on the firing pin? This makes me want to carry my p226 now
>>65422764God hop looks like that one freak who did the doc about Michael Jackson being a didler. Forget his name but he did a really fucking embarrassing show in Good Morning America
>>65421477I used to carry a .40 s/w 4006 that weighed 52oz loaded. picrel but with a TLR1. Never had a problem with that weight but I had concern working under cars as I didn't want it to drag on the concrete. Carry a PX4 now
>>65423397the pin rotates away when the safety is on, get a beretta
>>65422043It is done.
>>65423403he’s apparently like 6’4” which makes this picture even more terrifying
>>65423397Who said anything about getting rid of the decocker? I ASSume you're wedging in here a complaint against the SAO 92s, which is an irrelevant one because those, like all 92s since the B, have firing pin blocks and it wouldn't matter if the hammer did sit against the firing pin without the safety or decocker engaged
>>65423071Women and brown people have 9mm, they enjoy minor pf.
>>65423071.40 is the thinking man’s cartridge
