Did the challenge cold.

All 3 for 3 at 25 yards average to less then 5 seconds. One was 2.97 which I think I threw the last shot into the C zone

2 and 2 reload was under 10, I fucked up and didn’t time it because my timer timed out after 5 seconds

Stage 3 I whiffed completely.

I have an older one. On one hand the brand is slept on, on the other they don't have a lot of support in the US. I'm not talking from a practicality standpoint at all. Even if OCing rifles was the social norm, I'd still look down on people who can't shoot pistols and agonize over my own pistol skill. Or not, as the above post details.

I think it’s the ammo (Magtech 10mm). I did this with 50 rounds of blazer 10mm one handed and it didn’t happen. The gunsmith at nighthawk said he throughly test fired this gun and had no issues, I think it’s just Magtech JHP doing this maybe.

Shotgun threads are complicated. The primary use of shotguns is shooting garbage and TVs at the public shooting spot. Then it’s skeet/hunting which are traditionally 2 shot shotguns, traditionally long barrel for better point shooting. The price difference between a 200 dollar beater for shooting trash and a premium sporting tool is huge.

Then there is the third camp which tactical purposes which is kind of built on sand.

Generally wood but I'm not a huge fan of the knurling on these. If you put a smooth section at the top then it needs one at the bottom too, or some sort of border. If you go borderless then the whole thing needs to be textured. I'm sure there are exceptions but for the most part these are the rules.

>What does /hg/ recommend?
I inherited my Grandpa's Grandpa's guns, a shotgun and two lever actions from the 1880s. What i reccomend is pick something in a caliber that's universal like 22lr or 9mm because I'll pass those rifles down with the same ammount of shots fired through them as I got them because they haven't made that ammo since the fucking 1950s. I truly would worry that even 45acp isn't universal enough for a gun you'd like to see stay in the family for 150 years. The truth is in 150 years what will matter is that it still runs and they can still shoot it, not that it was fancy at the time. Pick accordingly.

>much much less over-pen worries with buck loadings than something like 5.56.
5.56 doesn't overpen like people say it does
something like 147gr 9mm ball will overpen worse than 5.56 because although 5.56 has higher kinetic energy, it has less momentum and inertia than a 9mm round (and tumbles) which means it loses energy quicker upon barrier penetration
if you're extremely worried about overpen, a 5.56 rifle is as good as anything else

That said, I love my 1301 and M4 and there are zero people standing up after taking 9-ball Flite Control 00 buck to any part of their body at 7 yards, so if we're talking about somebody inside my house with a knife I'm not fucking taking chances. shotguns are great for HD. The only retarded idea is 3" rifled slugs in your HD shotgun, unless you live in some megafauna hazard zone like alaska

Id say the problem is #4 might not penetrate to hit the spine while #1 is rare, and with 00 you always got that 1 flyer unless you get flightcontrol or another 8 pellet which might not always be available

It is a "handgun", friend, don't you know the NFA and ATF are completely reasonable? No different from your glock 19
>>
>>65434177

It prevents them from transferring SBRs but not me making them

"A member of a plaintiff organization who wishes to make an SBR from a pistol is covered as to the enjoined making, registration, and possession provisions (§§ 5822, 5841, 5861(d), (f)) – no Form 1 is required. The NFA should still require the maker to engrave their information on the SBR, as required by 5842(a). TheJensenplaintiffs are relieved from the marking requirements in 5842(b) and the serial number penalties in 5861(i). Please be aware that a majority of states prohibit the possession of SBRs unless they are registered or in compliance with the NFA"

it'll cycle but I am pretty sure it fucks up the extractor, the 1911 extractor is one of those ones that doesn't like slipping over the rim, the cartridge slides in from underneath - unrelated since .40 also will slide in from underneath properly but the additional forces on the extractor being the only thing that headspaces the cartridge probably fucks it up.

Cone comp. It’s threaded onto the barrel and converts a standard 1911 barrel (bushing) into a bull barrel. Needs specific threads and the threads are inside the slide. There is the possibility of it coming undone.

Pic related is “cone” comp vs bushing. This is possible since 1911 barrels are inserted into the slide from the front.

Maybe this is a weird/dumb question. What kind of “market share” do you think every action has? I guess strikers are by far the most popular, even without factoring in law enforcement contracts for whatever pistol. Is da/sa hammer fired firmly in second? How far behind is it from striker fired?

Well there are striker-fired pistols that are DA/SA and there are hammer-fired guns that are SAO or DAO. The Glock 19 was the number one handgun sold in America for a very, very long time and only recently has been usurped by the Sig P365 so I would say together their marketshare is quite dominant. Hell, Glawk is so old now that even the fudds I know are Glock fanboys

For someone who doesn’t need anymore guns, is there really anything special about a cz75?
I’ve had a 1911, I have a Glock, and I have revolvers. Wasn’t a fan of the 1911. I love my Glock, and revolvers. I dunno if the cz 75 is just a fantasy or if I’d even like it. Idk. Maybe I’ll stick with my Glock and revolvers.

I would say that SAO hammer fired is 2nd, DA/SA is 3rd.

The slide rides inside the frame, it's one of the only handguns that does that so if slightly unique design decisions do it for you then that's a reason

>>65435251
Well, I know it’s probably kinda dumb because more than likely I will NEVER shoot my Glock enough to wear it out, but seeing as they’re always making slight changes, not making my Gen 2 anymore, and not selling the Gen 3 to the general public anymore- I’ve been thinking it’d be nice to have a platform like the 1911 that basically never changes.
