>>65503411>>65503518well it definitely shoots a hell of a lot better than TulAmmo >>65486806 >>65486821still think i can eek out a bit better groups at a proper range, i can't seem to manage solid groups of more than 2-3 rounds before having to make adjustments laying prone in the dirt littered with empty brass and broken glass from others on this bit of BLM land I like to shoot at need to find a more remote stretch of land or hit a proper range really like this 77gr though, shoots decent and i feel a lot better running it through my gun/suppressor than that dogshit russian trash that turns your bolt black after a mag or two
>>65503910also used ~100 yards for the calcs but was probably something like 100-120 yards away, tough to say as the path i paced out starts straight then goes diagonal so i added some extra paces at the end so the straight line distance would be at least 100 yardsgoing to pick up a cheap vortex rangefinder to better estimate
>>65503910Good to see that their range line stuff is gtg, was curious given that it's a budget friendly option

idk about the 30's but some of those rock river mags aren't surefeeds, I got a d&h 20 round mag.
>>65504462Bummer, 30s are all suresneed
>>65504149two good alternatives are midwest industries drop in quad rail, i like the one that has the little gap cover to make the upper's rail & the handguard's rail continiousdoesn't look 100% clone correct but if you put rail covers/accessories on it the difference is pretty smallother one that looks slightly more clone correct but i wouldnt trust to hold zero for IR lasers is the PSA quad rail, its $100 and if you cover it up with the quad rail covers you pretty much cant tell the differencePSA also has their own knockoff rail covers & vertical grip that come with it, im not a fan of the rail covers but the vertical grip is almost as good as a real KA vertical grip, pretty good deal for $100 desu
>>65504462It helps if you read the product description before buying
>>65504528I guess it's a 10 round mag then.

Let’s say you have unlimited funds to build 1 AR that will last nearly forever, is bombproof, and is sub MOA. What do you buy?
>>65504793BCM upperPSA lower
>>65504793Stag 15 is the state of the Art if you can afford it. They are backlogged from mil contracts but pop up from time to time for civilian.
>>65504793>sub MOAwhy are people so obsessed with thisanyway sr15 or an sr25 clone
>>65504793It’s not an unlimited money problem, AR15 is solved, decently cheap and readily available. Submoa is almost a given so you go for longevity also: CHF+CL from a quality maker such as G$. No rail is bomb proof but there’s plenty of low deflection options with solid barrel nuts such as ris 2/3 or KAC urx. Then you put an acog, elcan or t2 and on it. Surefire light, sling and stock of preference. It’s just the baseline for this general, then you spend your unlimited money on ammo mags nylon and nods.>>65504834Proprietary parts though
>>65504855>Proprietary partsunlimited money indicates the ability to purchase spare parts

>>65504883>basedI wish, I have to return this thing now. I wonder if the ADM QD for it is compatible with something else.
>>65504874I think the future is all in one mount, optic and coaligned laser. And it will be 2.26 with no other height options.
>>65504885>accurateyou mean precise
>>65504895>2.26 with no other height optionsPlease no. This chin weld I'm entertaining is genuinely awful. Why does nobody make a 2.07. I works for my night vision very well.

>>65504885you should but it also shouldn't be the basis on which to buy an AR unless you are doing long-range/prs. 1-1.5 is fine, and I would sooner give up moa for barrel material and manufacturing, but ultimately >>65504855 is right, most modern AR barrels are sub-moa>I'll always prefer it to be as tight as possiblegiggity>>65504893>>65504903oof, it's a hard lesson man I still have my T2 and G33 unity mounts. I just went back to lower 1/3>>65504904>Because if your rifle is more than MOA it’s a fucking piece of shit>every issued rifle is/was 1 MOA minimumyeah
>>65504903>Why does nobody make a 2.07.Absolute cowitness plus the unity riser for the QD eokek is in that ballpark. I can't remember the exact measurement though
>>65504912>>65504913>I just went back to lower 1/3I do use night vision, so I have to use something higher. I was trying to avoid having a riser altogether but I may as well go back to using one. Nobody seems to make a 1.93 height QD T2 mount except for scalarworks' clickdrive.
>>65504920>I do use night vision, so I have to use something higherYou really don't
>>65504924>You really don'tYes I do. I tried to use 1.57 with night vision and it didn't work for me. However, without night vision that's my go to height.
>>65504930>it didn't work for mewhat was the issue?I'm just saying that whatever issue you're having with a 2.26" mount isn't going to improve with a 2" one
>>65504937>what was the issueToo low for use with night vision>whatever issue you're having with a 2.26I'm trying to explain that I already have had success with a 2.07 I cobbled together with a 1/2 inch riser coupled with 1.57 mount I've been running. I just wish someone made that 2.07 standard. So I'm thinking of returning the unity and getting a 1.93 in the hopes that it is still usable.
>>65504858unlimited money doesn't make spare parts magically appear out of thin air, unless you are planning on buying out KAC and running the manufacturing yourself thougbeit
>>65504941>Too low for use with night visionthat is not a legitimate issue, dudes have been using lower 1/3 with NV for a decade before the unity shit, and even then they don't really use themBut sorry, I did not realize you had already cobbled together a solution. I was gonna recommend attempting to source a wilcox riser mount or equivalent and a 1.5"-ish optic mount
>>65504954I suspect that they weren't passive aiming but active aiming and it didn't really matter what optic height they were at. I think that the 2.26 is unnecessarily tall even for nods but on an AR it does matter.
>>65504958it depends on who and what, but active aiming will always be superior to passive, and with good discipline and signature reduction doesn't matter t b h. I'm just trying to give you options
>>65504855>No rail is bomb proofDDM4 is without flaw.
>>65504913Cute rifle
>>65504153>>65504149I’m getting ready to buy one for a build and depending on where you look (eBay/GB) the P&S are more expensive. I don’t need the whole kit with the grip, etc. I used to have a Midwest drop in rail that looked pretty close.
new sneed coming out soon.
>>65505022The past few times I looked the p&s weren't that much cheaper than the kacs. I don't really get it, like yeah it's the same rail but different rollmark but the whole reason they are expensive is the cloner tax which used to not extend to p&s. They weren't expensive because they were good they were expensive because they said knights armament on the side.
>>65504913What's the oal on this bad boy
What can I do with an 11.5" fsb barrel? It won't fit, so don't even suggest that.
>>65505169gordy build
>>65505139It was 27.5" from tip of A2 to rear of buttpad.
>>65505178Interesting. The urgi upper with the AASSS + lwrc uciw is 25.6875" (25 11/16") and picrel which is just a regular 10.5 A2 upper with the kak mini milspec is 24.875" (24 7/8")
>>65504149You can find the Daniel Defense quads cheaper now and then. They're not that much cheaper, but are actually quality. They're also tighter around the barrel than most quad manfs though, so you might experience a bit more heat transfer? IDK.For the >>65503893 general, I'm wanting to put together a 6mm Arc upper. Anyone have one? What barrel did you go with?I think I want to do a 16 inch with rifle length gas, but am also considering an 18 inch or 14.5 if it comes to that.It seems like a bunch of shit is out of stock. I'd rather not go ballistic advantage because it's a fucking coin toss whether or not it's a good one, but they are everywhere and cheap.Trying to spend less than ~$400.
Newfag looking for another optic, what's more practical for a red dot: the Comp M4 or a T2?I already have a PRO
>>65505229of those two, T2. But just get a romeo 4t pro for a few hundred less for equal performance
>>65505239tight, I'm just concerned about reliability the most since some anons said Aimpoint was bombproof
>>65505243Aimpoint is, you could argue that's why they still charge $900 for a 10 year old rds. But the Romeo is pretty much the T2 but with different reticle options (and cheaper). Can't go wrong with either.
>>65505212I wanted to put a rra entry stock on it but it would be unusable for me if it were that short and had no adjustment
>>65505243>I'm just concerned about reliabilityAny red dot above $100 is going to be dead reliable
>>65505239I don't understand the love for the Romeo 4T Pro. The buttons are too close together to easily differentiate and almost impossible to use with gloves. It's the same Chinese parts as every other Sig/Holosun, just "assembled" in the US under Sig quality control. Honestly I bet Chinese QC is better. The difference in IR transmission is only noticeable in extremely dark conditions. The Romeo MSR Gen II or Holosun anything is a better optic in almost every way at 1/4 the price. And if you can afford NODs, then you can afford a better optic than Sig.If I were willing to share my contact info on this Ethopian squash distilling forum, I'd offer someone a great deal on a lightly used 4T pro.>>65505229The T2 is smaller, lighter, and has more aftermarket options for mounts. The Comp M4 is cheaper. Prices on T2s have gone up significantly in the last few years. Both are intermittently hard to find. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the Comp M4, but not much reason to get one over a T2 unless you're trying to build something clone correct or you find one for a really good price.
>>65505011Hi YNH

>>65504617Do you prefer MOA or Mils? You really need to provide some guidelines for this purchase anon. We’re assuming you’re talking about a 10.5” PSA in .223 Rem here.

>>65505353>t. Dyslexic tranny
>>65505303>The difference in IR transmission is only noticeable in extremely dark conditions. Bullshit. It's a night and day difference between my Romeo5 and my Eotech 552. The Romeo can only be passive aimed with large amounts of backlighting. Any shadows at all and you aren't seeing shit.>The Romeo MSR Gen II or Holosun anything is a better optic in almost every way at 1/4 the price. No, this is poverty cope. If it were true those would be mainline service optics of countries that aren't China and Ukraine. I'm not even bashing the higher end SIG options but your sub $300 crap is not competitive with a real optic.>And if you can afford NODs, then you can afford a better optic than Sig.Aimpoint would get my money if they actually stayed competitive simply to spite SIGger. Instead I'm looking at a Romeo4T now because Aimpoint doesn't sell a T2 with the Eotech reticle. SIG does and it's $300 cheaper. I don't hate SIG that bad.
Howdy
>>65505303I suppose I still can't decide if I want to follow the Block II with a 16" DD barrel that's coming in this coming week, I see that they issued the both the T2 AND the M4S on the cloner site, so I'm split between buying a T2 at MSRP that has the retarded engraved Spuhr mount or the M4S by itself with the mount and spacer as well.I'm not even sure what HRT even means in terms of firearms, I just think of a local Toyota dealer
>>65505372>your sub $300 crap is not competitive with a real opticIts a red dot bro this isnt the 90s anymore aimpoint has been fat and lazy with their military contracts for decades. The reason more nato countries don't buy china made optics is logistical and regulatory nothing to do with the quality of the optics. That's why sig is doing well because they are selling china made optics but with the "domestic made" stamp of approval scam so departments can buy them.
>>65505379Hey
>>65505397>Its a red dot broUntermensch, tell me this instant what your most expensive optic is. >That's why sig is doing well because they are selling china made optics but with the "domestic made" stamp of approval scam so departments can buy them.Very weird how they have the poverty line then too if all of these dots are created equal. If your nonsense about Chinadots being JAG was true every single nation would have a SIG style rebrander supplying them with limitless Holosuns. They don't, they buy high end SIGs or Aimpoints or EOTechs for half the price of a rifle. Because they aren't cut rate shit only a low IQ low impulse control civilian would buy because neither he nor anyone he knows has the taste or brains to understand why a T2 is better than a Romeo5. Deys both putta dot on da target huh?
>>65504073Thats cool camo anon where do i get that?Anyone wanna talk me out or further into an auto rifle lmg set up like pic related?

>>65505379Hey bedposter>>65505408>Untermensch, tell me this instant what your most expensive optic is.EXPS3 but my holosun HE530 is a close second.>Why does Aimpoint get the contracts instead of holosun?Aimpoint is made in Sweden which is a Nato country. China is an opp to USA who is top dick in Nato. There are countries that use holosun for their military and because of Sig USA is ironically one of them.>JAGSome are JAG some are worse some are better it depends. They all work for basic red dot duty and can take a beating but not all have the glass for nods or magnifiers due to poor light transmission. Not all aimpoints are JAG as the T2 either.
>>65505372> No, this is poverty cope.It actually isn't. For red dots, I have two T2s, two EXPS3s, one of the old AA Eotechs, a 4T pro, and an assortment of cheap chink shit. The 4T pro is the only one I would not buy again. You know what else isn't a mainline service optic in countries that aren't China and Ukraine? The 4T pro. Get an Aimpoint or Eotech for serious use. Get cheap chink shit for a range toy or if you can't afford an Aimpoint or Eotech. If you can't afford an Aimpoint or Eotech, then the one arguable advantage of the 4T pro is irrelevant because you also can't afford NODs.

Speer GDSP 75gr might have better terminal performance against unarmored targets out of a short barrel. The differences are all probably pretty marginal though. >>65506258Spending money on rifle easy because look cool and scary. Spending money on ammo hard because hidden in magazine and have go outside to use.
>>65506258There seems to be a widespread lack of interest in shooting in the gun culture these days. Take a sample of 1,000 gun owners and you'll find MAYBE one or two semi-serious shooters. Irresponsible low-commitment people like to cite "muh ammo prices" or "too busy taking muh kids to soccer" or whatever, but truthfully they're too stupid and/or lazy for guns.

>>65506258most people don't have the time to spend hours at the range every week, so they just buy a gun that they find cool, use it for a bit and then proceed with their lives because they got something else to do
>>65505864It's not bad as such, it's just not worth the money over other options IMO. I dislike the buttons on the 4T pro because they're too close together for me to easily manipulate without looking, especially with gloves. Other than that it's fine, but it's the same internals as other optics costing 1/2 to 1/4 as much with the only difference being optical coatings that give better IR transmission for use with NVGs. In my opinion, if money is a concern then get one of the newer Holosuns or the cheaper SIGs. If passive aiming with NODs is your priority, then get an EOTech. If hard use durability is your priority, then get a T2.

>>65504834IDK about other people but for me I wabt better than 4 MoA because I want to be able to hit small targets at moderate distances. Like groundhogs (their holes are hazards to horses). I want a short ar15 but I don’t want a niche cqb level shortness with notable trade-offs like the mk18.I feel like 12.5” would put me in that general purpose combat rifle area while still being short enough to run suppressed.Could I just run a suppressor that’s on the short side to make up for extra inch of barrel over an 11.5”?Are there any other drawbacks from a 12.5” that I don’t know about like in terms of reliability or anything? On paper it seems like they would be very popular.
>>65509575Get a 11.5 and stop trying to think about it
>>6550957516” is all you need bro. Mid length if you wanna be fancy
>>65509575It's a dumb idea because 11.5 is a way more "solved" barrel length. Tons of good brands selling options that just work and just keep working. Tons of units in circulation proving that too. 12.5 doesn't do anything meaningfully better so there really isn't a practical reason to bother with it. Just get an 11.5 and don't over think it.
>>65509594>12.5 doesn't do anything meaningfully betterThey look pretty sweet with the ris2.

>>65509618>I just want to know why in function, someone would really prefer an 11.5” or 10.3”.10.3" for shortest possible length with carbine gas system aka mk18 larp I see 11.5" as a refinement to the 10.3" where it's still quite short but simpler to tune and not as rough on the internals>Shouldn’t the 12.5” be quieter with a suppressor too?Yes, all else being equal, a longer barrel will be a bit quieter with a suppressor

So in a hypothetical home invasion scenario (defending obviously), would 5.56 out of a 20” barrel give you any tactical advantage? What if by some crazy chance the attackers decided to wear armor?

>>65509746if i handed you a carrier with lvl 4 plates, would you confidently let me shoot you in the chest 6 times with a 10.3 and 55gr? min maxxing barrel length for HD is retarded considering m193 will still fragment at HD distances out of short barrels. to the idea that someone is wearing armor and breaking into your home, this is also isn't an issue because you are training to shoot people in the face as well as center mass, right anon?
>>65509773>>65509761Honestly I wouldn’t know. I’m more of a pistol guy, but I’ve recently come to realize that it’s probably a good idea to have some 5.56 on hand just in case.I have no idea how 5.56 acts against plates, or the tactical advantage of 11.5-20” or vice versa. Aside from long distance like you pointed out.
>>65509789>tactical advantageyou keep saying this but i think you mean ballistic advantage tactical advantage goes to a short barrel in home defense and it's not even close
>>65509746certain lvl3 armors will lose to green tip out of a 20inch barrel, but it's pretty niche20 inch barrel would suck for maneuvering tight hallways

>>65509789If you're genuinely concerned about armored home invaders then pick up a mag or 2 worth of m855a1. For all other instances an 11.5 and winchester white box range trash 55gr is all you "need".

I’ve had some real life things happen that have really made me put practicality and function over my romanticized idea about how things could go.My biggest concern is hearing loss. My 14.5” ar15 is going to fuck up my hearing for life of I shoot it in my house. So for a proper hd rifle, in considering either a suppressed mp5 clone or a suppressed ar.Now, I would be drawn towards an 11.5” barrel and a nice suppressor but will this be quiet enough to save my ears? That’s one of the reasons I’ve also been considering 12.5”.
>>65509914WHAT?
