OP here, turns out he's(she maybe) has been under going pretty strong gender dysphoria and was worried I'd abandon them if a transition takes place. We're going to a local Transgender resource center tomorrow. Also discussing options for higher education. Yeah yeah, I've seen the "male on HRT is trans meme". As far as I can tell, our current relationship is solid and we're both happy and in love and marriage was brought up a few times, I was open to the idea but put it on the back burner until we work out the gender identity and dysphoria problem.. I didn't pry into when or how dysphoria exactly started. I just wanted to be accepting and asking a question like that seems like a faux pas to me.
