its common knowledge that basically any surgeon you go to, regardless of method, creates the labia minora using penile skin.

this is good because the penile skin is homologous to the outer side of the labia minora in cis women.

however, one thing ive noticed is that they stitch it down. thats upside down compared to a cis womans labia minora, which is like the ventral side of the penis.

why do they do it this way? are there any surgeons who do it the other way? is it even possible?

also a related question, the inner side of cis womens labia minora is homologous to the urethral lining in the penis. why doesnt this get utilized in srs? at best its usually made using foreskin.. wait, does my urethral lining even have nerves?? :/

still gonna get it and its not a dealbreaker, but ive always wondered..

pls dont bully me for anything i got wrong / lack of medical knowledge :3

idk what you mean by upside down but the urethra lining is often spatiated and used as the vestibule

the pre-op area closer to the penile glans ends up on the side closer to the perineum rather than near clit. pre-op area closer to the base ends up near the clit.
>>
*pre-op area closer to the base ends up near the underside of the clit, to be more specific
above the clit is like dorsal base obvs

okay I see your point but umm idk if the topology works out to do it the other way I mean how would you physically move the tissue like that?
also not as convinced the comparison to cis women's labia makes much sense I mean prixmal and distal penis vs ventral and dorsal labia both grow in both directions so it has to be moved and why is one way better than the other?
fwiw I've had srs and have never once thought about this before today

my labia just under my clit where it splits I think is really made from urethra and then kind of combines into the penis skin

ive had an srsussy for years and had no idea this was the case. it’s not something i or anyone else would notice even with their face buried in it. there’s no need to obsess over things like this, just know enough to pick the general method you want

nta, but is there any method that’s notably better or worse than another?
>>
>>36632852
also nta but main methods are penile inversion, ppt, colon, and scrotal inversion aka non-penile inversion aka thai method. theres other methods too but theyre less well known. ppt and colon are said to give you a more wet vagina. suporn clinic is npi method, but they line the upper vagina with tunica vaginalis which is peritoneal tissue so its wet similar to ppt. colon is apparently stretchier but there are anecdotes about bad smell due to the natural bacteria of this type of tissue. penile inversion is bad if your penis is small iirc. well thats my understanding but dont trust me pls
