I don't know if there are any ethical implications. One thing I like to think about, however, is why some societies are homophobic and some are not. For example: in the Phillipines 'femboys' were a socially accepted 3rd gender, but after colonization and the imposition of Christian moral codes homophobia became rampant and still is. This is an obvious example. Less obvious is why ancient Germanic tribes would drown homosexuals in bogs. Why the Hebrews developed a homophobic culture. I'm not sure why. Is it environmental? Is there some geographic, military, or economic pressure specific to their origin which caused that?Idk.
