my father has fucking dozens characters on wow with practically every mix of race and gender and depending on the expansion his main ends up female or male depending on which class is his favorite and top in the role in that expansion so he sometimes ends up playing female characters

to my knowledge he never tries to recreate himself in games and just plays one of the defaults like the default male/female Shepherd in Mass Effect

btw plenty of cis straight guys I know play female characters in mmos because they like dressing them up in a dressing your dream gf sort of way and not dressing your image, they don't identify much with their avatars and view them like fap material
