Everyone is forgotten, eventually. Nothing that happens after you die has any bearing on you.
Consider that the earliest recorded name that we still have is 5000 years old. Anatomically modern humans go back for around 300,000 years. Almost everyone alive today will be forgotten within 500 years. When you look at the timescales involved, we're barely remembered for longer than we exist even if you do manage to become famous.
