>boyfriend been irritable and in a bad mood the past few weeks while waiting for his dad's cancer test results to come in (possible glioblastoma)>pacing around a lot, bitching every day about the doctors taking too long, doesn't fake laugh when I make a joke but just goes "uh-huh" or "yeah" in a deep, moody tone>results came in an hour ago>no cancer>now he's jovial and friendly again
ik how you feel. I call it "eggshell" mode bc I don't want to do ANYTHING to upset him, so when something awful happens and he gets like that I just kinda stay quiet and find little things to do around the house until he tells me to stop and hang out with him
>>37311234This is the only time he's ever been in eggshell mode with me lol
>>37311241it's only happened a couple of times with my bf, and only when major shit like water damage to his house or something happens, even the best men get like this I think it's something in their alphabrain that won't let them be at peace until problem fixed
>>37311215Idgi this sounds normal
>>37311215he just cares about his dad, brain cancer is a gauranteed death warrant so he basically has to mentally prepare for his dad's death while waiting for the results
>>37311215he was super concerned about it, nothing to take personally
>>37311814Glioblastoma is, others have high survival rates
>>37311215personally i know this mood, and it would be 100% improved by my girlfriend letting me hit her a couple times. not saying thay's what should happen here, just putting it out there.
