You can always start your retirement later in life, transition later, learn a new language, etc. Yeah would it be better to do all those things when youre younger? Yeah, but you can still do it and its better to do it late than to never. If you never talk to a cute person you wanted to ask out, chances are another one will come by soon, there was not only the one. As for regretting thing you did, instead of things you didnt do. A lot of mistakes can be moved past to some degree. Most crimes commited have a limited sentence, youll end up back home eventually, a more difficult life for sure but with enough work you could theoretically build back after becoming a felon. Or maybe less seriously, you could get remarried after a divorce you regretted, get pregnant again after a miscarriage, etc.. some things cant fix themselves fully but we do live in a world where people recognize that there should be second changes and you should utilize that
