Honestly I know there was a huge fuss about this movie being retconned into a trans allegory but it does have some subtle AGP vibes throughout.
the directors tried to make the character switch a different sex in the real world vs the matrixit's clear that they intended it to be a trans allegory from the beginning
>>38593025the matrix is very tranny
>>38593050That was it tho. Lana was still Larry back then. Trinity was probably a self-insert for Lana, but what does cypher's betrayal or Agent Smith's hatred of his job or Morpheus' unrelenting faith have to do with trans? You're projecting your self onto neo, which the character neo is designed to facilitate. And Switch wound up almost entirely on the cutting room floor along with Mouse and the other one because he/she just wasn't necessary for the plot. It was a cool little quirk of the matrix, oh wow, moving on, and it just wasn't worth the runtime. Meanwhile on the first level it's about the rise of cyber-authoritarianism and systems of control. On the second level it's a Jesus allegory (everyone except Laurence Fishburne is Catholic), the death, the descent into hell, the resurrection, the forgiveness of sins. On the third level it's about free will versus determinism in a chaotic system. On the fourth and final its about materialism (red pill) and idealism (blue pill) and self knowledge. If you're inserting a trans allegory into that you might as well start talking about The Avengers as a trans allegory. It's stupid. AND honestly, it's kinda transphobic. Even if Lana was out and proud when she made the movie, not everything has to be about her gender issues. Nobody is talking about Jupiter Ascending or V for Vendetta as a trans allegory. The actually she's a nerd who did way too much ketamine at an orgy once and realized she can't be happy as a man. No allegory required, because it's just not an interesting story. We've heard it before. And nobody else is going to get it.
>>38593025>retconnedit was not
the only trans characters are mr. smith and the oracle
>>38593216You literally can't separate the author's identity from the meaning of the work, bad analysis on every level. The experience of transitioning is literally like leaving a false role you play to confront a bleak reality that you can't look away from. Cipher is a repper. Agent Smith is a cishet person with envy of trannies, representing a system that hates and yet needs to consume feed and reproduce off its hosts. Read whipping girl sheesh.
>>38593513>You literally can't separate the author's identity from the meaning of the workSo what's the trans allegory in Speed Racer? The experience of transition is like driving a car real fast and doing a backflip? What about V for Vendetta?Transition is like blowing up parliament for the lulz?Jupiter Ascending?Transition is like finding out you're actually the clone of the alien who owns earth? It's all retarded because actual Lana isn't the Author of The Matrix, its not an indy movie, is a summer blockbuster with a 200 million dollar budget and a team of about 20 writers with studio execs demanding every decision be focus tested and approved at the executive level because that's a fucktonne of money to be giving someone for her first movie. Second a third movies, no trans stuff at all. It's what if Jesus but like dragonball Z. It's there to make money.
>>38593025>subtle AGP vibes throughout.Media about computer programmers does not immediately mean AGP.
>>38593025It's about Christian Gnosticism and maybe capitalism.
>>38593025If you're a self-obsessed tranny retard, maybe.
>>38593604This. I have to assume that anyone insisting otherwise hasn't actually watched the movies. There's a guest appearance from lesbians with rocket launchers in the eleventh hour, and that was pretty much the extent of the AGP I got from these movies.
