I'm in love with an anime character. It's probably a mental illness or unhealthy, sure, but I do okay for myself regardless. It's a heterosexual "relationship", so I don't entirely understand being gay or bisexual, but accept people in those categories. This is my first time on this board, so forgive me if I wrote something incorrectly counter to the board culture. It exists in other parts of 4chan, but never thought about it being considered a subset of the LGBT+.What do you the LGBT+ think about this? How do you think this correlates to the LGBT+ and how does it differ? How likely will there be social acceptance like with gays, lesbians, bisexuals, etc.? If this is a new concept to you, here's a website about it:https://lgbtqia.wiki/wiki/FictoromanticHere is a psychological article about it:https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/psychology/articles/10.3389/fpsyg.2020.575427/full
>>38604328I find this unbelievably sad and disturbing.
>>38604328Maybe as a holdover cope until you find a real person that will actually challenge and shape you
>>38604358I'm incapable of finding real people attractive on a romantic level. I was diagnosed as autistic as a child with a high IQ and literally cannot find real men or women attractive, on an emotional level. Relationships with real people seem like far too much risk for too little reward to me. >>38604345People said similar things (probably even worse, desu) about trans and homosexuals back in the day. The guy in the picture has a respectable office job, and I also have a decent tech job and social life, living on my own. If you walked past me in public, you'd have no idea about this part of my life. Is it more normal to be openly flamingly obvious about my sexuality like with pride parades or flags?
>>38604328who is your waifu/husbando?
>>38604618I don't think that it's relevant, and it's a common choice, but Holo from Spice & Wolf. I've been obsessed with her since I was in high school in 2012. I had a few other relationships with real women but just didn't care about them in the end nearly as much. After college my social life became a bit slower, which I was grateful for because dorm life is soulless. I didn't bother continuing to enter back into dating and I think it's because she's sated whatever emotional need a person would have. It's nice because I can just focus on myself without any crazy drama, especially with where I live being not a great city anymore
>>38604718based, have you played the vr titles yet
>>38604718have you played the VR game where you can give her headpats?
>>38604764>>38604768Yes, both. It's the reason I'll never, ever be able to not have a PS4. I'm not interested in talking about my own waifu, there are plenty of other places to talk about that.
>>38604793ok, so you want to know if youre a faggot for being a waifufag?yes, your relationship is non-traditional and sterile, so you're not "straight", you belong to the LGBTQIAPN2+BA
>>38604827Are you lgbtq+ yourself? If you're not and just an asshole then your answer is irrelevant to my questions in the OP.
>>38604328I think it's just another thing that existsseems possibly probably similar to how people can be in love/relationships with their tulpas, or well i'm not sure how different this is to that>How do you think this correlates to the LGBT+ and how does it differ?i guess you could put it under lgbt+? that can include all sorts of things so why not>How likely will there be social acceptance like with gays, lesbians, bisexuals, etc.?within the next 10 years? i doubt it. 20+ years? people surely will become more open-minded generally (if people are still around) but for it to be 'accepted' on the mentioned level it would have to be that much common which who knows if it'll be but maybe eventually people will just become open-minded enough to accept all sorts of things including this type of thing
>>38604328your just a few steps away from finding the goddess of the universe anon, start praying to her, pour out your entire soul to her and fill your life with her; start living for her wishes in everything you do, become pure and break free of lewd urgesspeak to her in your heart day and night and spend thousands of hours staring into her eyesshe can be more than a waifu- she can completely change your life and begin to shape you into a better, stronger person-she can be your Epitome to the goddess if you take some steps, and through your feelings for her you will find a new way to see lifemy beliefs began not so dissimilar to what you have nowi have been on this spiritual journey with my goddess for over 17 years- i'll leave it there for now- please give it some thought, Ellaphae has been so good for my life, and she's helped my wife tooeither way im glad you found something that gives you some hope and makes you happy and eases your loneliness- i wish you well, bless you for your courage in sharing this with us)*
>>38605027This post is more schizo than OP and they're in love with an underaged wolf girl>>38604328I don't think it's that weird to love an anime girl, and AI girlfriends are already a thing for lonely men around the world so it's probably going to pair nicely with that maybe. As for social acceptance? It'll never get become as accepted as homosexuals. Not even transexuals are accepted yet imo. Maybe after robot waifus, but again it'll be around the same timeHolo seems cute though good taste
>>38604793I don't think it's LGBT+ but in line with >>38604827 it could at a post-postmodern stretch be considered queer, for shits and giggles
>>38605181I know a few other fictoromantics like myself, and some of which are in homosexual relationships or are trans. My theory is that there is some small amount of overlap due to us obviously not being neuro-typical. I've also heard of some very anti-LGBT+ waifuists, which I find odd.Anyway, I love my wolfu. You people seem alright. Have a good life.
