Should I break up with my boyfriend? He said the happiest years of his life were when he was a baby and toddler but at 5-6 his life got a lot more difficult and he's still depressed and traumatized from his childhood and teens. I find it kind of hurtful that the 'happiest time of his life' wasn't... you know. The past 14 months. The time he's spent with me. If I'm not enough to make him happy and love life more than he ever has before, what is even the point of this relationship?

you sound like a narcissist. life is hard as an adult, our happiest times are in our carefree childhoods unless of course you had a terrible childhood, as many of us had. a better question to ask him would be what is the most meaningful time of his life.

you're a selfish bitch, break up with him because he deserves better than you
>>
Oh. So I'm being unreasonable?

you are not, it's an ugly thing to say to your partner and you are in your right to feel neglected. i know he is being honest but sometimes you gotta lie for the sake of the relationship and keep quiet about things that can hurt.
depression always makes you long for simpler times so don't be too hard on him about that
what you have to be clear about is that he is grateful to have you by his side

You are being a woman, women can't stand men displaying emotions or talking about their feelings. You aren't being unreasonable, its more a case of ontological malevolence that you share with all other women.

wrong, she just want him to talk about his feelings in a reassuring way
>>
>>39443410
Yes, nobody owes you their happiness, he’s depressed and you’re a narcissist
>>
>>39443538
i.e not talk about his feelings but invent feelings to pander to her inane vanity
>>
>>39443571
i. e being considerate and showing basic empathy toward the person you love
>>

(you) have to feel reassured and comforted when they're talking about THEIR lifelong depression?
i hope this is trolling because you're actually subhuman if you think this way.
