The US destroys 20th century without competition. Russia is top for 19th century for sure. Honestly after trying to get into the Charterhouse of Parma I've decided French literature is hugely overrated. I don't even put them anywhere toward the top anymore. You've got DeMaistre, Celine, and Dumas; everyone else is pretty bad.

Warning!

This thread has mentioned the R-word in a positive light. Russia is a terrorist, invading, corrupt, and reprehensible state

What can you do about this?
-Donate to the Ukrainian Armed Forces
-Shout 'Slava Ukraini!'
-Watch videos of ruzzians dying in painful and hilarious ways

even if you changed the statement to the past tense as you have likely intended, you would still be wrong

Is Buglakov any good aside from master and margarita? Also is there any authors from rus who can rival tolstoy or dosto?
>>
>>23320766
Did most great Russian authors live in the big cities like Moscow and later St. Petersberg? Or are there some that were rural, etc? I'm sorta fascinated by population distribution in Russia

Nobody anywhere produces good literature in [current year], obviously we are talking about the past
