>>23360824>Of all the Wes Anderson movies, why Royal Tenenbaums?BECAUSE IT IS HIS BEST: «THE ROYAL TENENBAUMS» (2001) IS THE PERFECT REALIZATION OF THE WRY, WHOLESOME, WHIMSICAL STYLE OF WESLEY ANDERSON; HIS OPERA BECAME TOO MANNERISTIC, BORDERING ON KITSCH, AFTER IT.SOMETIMES, SUCCESS IS THE WORST THING THAT CAN HAPPEN TO SOMEONE GENIAL.
>>23360824>Redpill me on New ScienceI would write an effortpost but this video I found does a great job: https://youtu.be/8swo4fvHU4Y?si=Xbaz6Cq9JUrAkCUn>and the Pessoa bookI can't do that. It has to speak to you. I actually got into him because of that one Pessoa anon who always makes the threads with his poems.>Opium Eater is on my listI was expecting to not like it since I can hardly appreciate Coleridge's poetry, but I can't recommend it enough if you're a prosefag. It's a short, quick burst of genius from a young victorian prodigy who attempted to break free from the confines of his social stratum and grammar schooling and ended up in the painful, manic-depressive world of 19th century narcotic imbimbers. One of the most heterodox and unique works from the era. I like how - to me at least - it offers a novel perspective on life while still being deeply imbued in western philosophy.

I kinda wish steins;gate was in book form, it'd make it far, far easier to recommend, and it's alt endings are all dumb anyway and non-canon since for the beginning to happen the end must be the true end to make sense. that said, it'd lose nothing in book form, and perhaps only gain.it's truly one of the best stories i've ever read.
>>23363684>I kinda wish steins;gate was in book form...is this bait? There's literally a manga of it
Weird eclectic 3x3, but I love these books. Still have some gaps to fill when it comes to canon though, so subject to change
>>23363701yikes, theirs... a lot to unpack hear sweety.firstly, the manga is dogshit, its omits tons of details and really isn't even legible lest you' already played/watched steins;gate.secondly, even if the manga was as good, or even say better than the novel it's not exactly easy to recommend most people to go read a japanese comic. that kind of thing is only normal on the internetlastly, don't do the "..." thing before your post. it makes you sound like a humongous gigafaggot
>>23360436I've still got so many books I want to read so this will definitely change between now and next year.. Although brothers k is gonna be a permanent fixture
>>23360952>>23361439now kiss
>>23360442huh? I dont speak taco language?
>>23363711>theirsHeh, to bad you're entire post is invalid now.
>>23362610>>23360436As a former McCarthy devotee, I think Blood Meridian is extremely overrated on this board and site in general, but I do appreciate seeing love for his border trilogy>>23360952>>23361439>>23363732What I'm generally feeling from this thread is that Mishima's 'Confessions of a Mask' is considered his best? I've only read 'Frolic of the Beasts', which a friend and Mishima fan said is probably his among his worst.
A 3x3 feels kinda restrictive honestly.
Where are you guys making your 3x3's? The topsters guy fell for the orthobro meme, so...
>>23365306Did you read the abridged Gibbon? I just picked up the Wordsworth Classics version, it’s ~ 1100 pages. I’m a bit intimidated desu :/
>>23365356I didn't read abridged (I read Everyman's library edition) but I imagine it has its merits, since in the Everyman, Gibbon can get so deep in the weeds that it seems needless. Also, I should qualify my including this by noting that I read other books between each volume.
>>23365572How many pages do you read a day?
>>23360994>AI upscaled imageat least make your own 3x3 faggot
>>23365306>Mishima's 'Confessions of a Mask' is considered his best? You will love it if you're a fag or are hiding a weird fetish or are just generally alienated from other people. If not, you might still like it but you probably have a better chance of getting into Sailor Who Fell From Grace With Sea
>>23360994Sorry I wanted my shit to be crisp
>>23366304meant to reply to>>23365803
>>23365768It depends on the day and the book obviously but when I read Gibbon I finished a chapter whenever I started it. Granted, I was probably reading more casual books at the same time, so likely some days went by without reading DFRE at all.
