I'm a guy who probably could get diagnosed with multiple disorders (bipolar, autism, schizoid personality disorder) but I don't believe in the framework created by psychiatrists. I used to not speak to or connect to anybody, knowing that the people around me wouldn't understand. I was effectively mute. I was alone. I met a highly intelligent schizophrenic autistic girl and it changed my life. It wasn't romantic at all but it helped me straighten out as a person and grow outwards more, knowing that people could understand the same things I do. I become more confident and feel less freakish. I dont stay in close contact with them but I really don't know what would've happened to me if I hadn't met them.
