Why is it that in secondary schools only basic, new criticism-style literary analysis is taught? Why aren't teens exposed to different theoretical lenses? Being able to do this stuff might make lit more exciting for the youth.

i learned abt structural ism a bit and other methods were given lip service. high schoolers dont read neither do most college students
