Hello /lit/ today we are going to help motivate each other through writing prompts or perhaps to share concepts we are working on. Please share:
>prompts you think will be fun to work on
>ideas you have for your own work
>sketches of things youve done
>groupwriting activities
>questions or challenges you are facing in your creative process
Thanks!

I am working on a short-story set in a New England mill town around the years 2010-2015. It will be a small commentary on life in rural New England in this time, the onset of the oxycodin->heroin epidemic that is currently taking lives, and maybe some themes on the impossibility presented by the contradictory nature of New England life itself (natural beauty vs endless construction, the demystification of new england safety and wealth)

However, before sitting down to a larger piece, I would like to try my hand at some smaller pieces as well. So I'm searching for prompts from you guys as I don't want to resort to reddit or google.

I've had this idea in my mind for a honest to God shonen manga that brings a smile to my face every time. I never cared about shonen but this one idea is so much fun and the scenes just write themselves. It's also very simple, it's urban fantasy, it's got that forever expandable formula to it, and generally checks all the boxes for commercial success. I am sure that if someone (Japanese) made it right now, it would become a hit.
I do not say this sort of stuff lightly, in fact I shoot down my own ideas almost immediately every time. This one time I think I caught lightning in a bottle.
Then I remembered that we're in the coomer zoomer era where everyone's only interested in something if he can jack off to AI porn of it. I remembered how much I despise the public's behavior and tastes and how getting involved in comics and art in general brought me into a deep depression because of all the fucking porn, and also the fact I haven't drawn in forever.
That would've been good, though. Wish I didn't lose that last additional bit of hope long ago.

If you put blue collar mill workers in your story
I would read it. Think Tony Bennet from
the show, Down East Dickering
