Okay, NOW I'm done for the week. See you on Monday...
>>
Why are you posting this to /lit/? I mean sure it's cool but there are two of these in the catalog and they should be on /co/ anyway. It'd be more better to post pulp scans or something and encourage reading along rather than dumping comic books. I don't wanna discourage effortposting, but a stream of dead comic book threads on /lit/ goes to show how useless the mods are.

Is there anyone here actually reading this stuff?
>>

>Adaptations of books shouldn't be on /lit/
First off, go fuck yourself with a rusty breadknife, you wannabe mod. Secondly, the catalog is mostly full of stupid cunts getting high off their own farts, so who the fuck are you to clutch your pearls and say what somebody can and can't post here? Finally, posting a comic based off a somewhat obscure Walter Scott novel isn't going to hurt anyone, much less a comic based off some random cowboy book.
>>
>>23587093
Other bad posts in the catalog doesn't make these threads on-topic. As a one-off of a very popular book in order to start discussion on the adaptation and adaptations of literature in general? That would be fine. But as they are these threads have little to do with literature and promote zero discussion.

I can think this should be on /co/ and hate all the trash in the catalog too. The stretching/abuse of anything book-related to be literature is a massive problem with this board, and these threads make that same stretch. Other bad posts don't justify off-topic threads.

And why are you so defensive over this? It's not like I started insulting the OP, and I even suggested something that could be on-topic while filling a similar niche.
>>
>>23587126
You're not refuting my points, you're just doubling down on being a snobby little cunt. These threads are for adaptations of literary classics (and occasionally some cowboy novels, but w/e, those are still /lit/.) That's not "stretching" or "abusing" anything - there have been threads about adaptations here before, and there will be after these. Again, you're not in charge of what is and isn't allowed on /lit/, and thank fuck for that.
>And why are you so defensive over this?
Why are (You) being so passive-aggressive? If the state of /lit/ is so terribly concerning to you, go whine in the threads that are actually shit instead of this concern trolling bullshit, or just make some more fake reports to mods about how these threads are "off-topic."

ffs, god forbid we have something fun round here. The first comic has nice art and is adapting a Scott novel that's about 200 years old and nobody remembers - that should be more than enough for you retards.
>>
>>23587189
You made no points except that it "isn't going to hurt anyone," and I made a good point that it brings the board quality down by being off-topic.

>adaptations
I made a point about how a thread about adaptations could still be on-topic; if the threads are solely about the adaptations, then they are by definition off-topic. You don't come here to talk about movies or comics with a flimsy "well they're adapted from books" excuse. You'd have to be at least making comparisons to the source material and attempting a discussion about literary qualities, of which the OP attempts or encourages neither.

>>23587240
>fun
There is almost zero engagement with these threads. Your usual comic read-along gets anons talking about the material on a relevant board. Who's having fun? I asked if anyone was reading these---genuinely. And even someone is reading these, it doesn't make this on-topic.
>obscurity
So? Even if one of these was individually interesting it doesn't justify the endless stream of them. Again, OP makes no attempt to make this about the literature behind these and doesn't encourage any discussion at all. And what room is there for discussion anyway? An occasional thread discussing the nature of comic adaptation would be more than enough, and I don't think a single one of these threads so far has achieved or even attempted that.
>>
>>23587271
>I can't refute anything in defense of these threads, so I'm just going "it's not /lit/ because I say so" until OP stops posting things that hurt my fee-fees

>NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YOU CAN'T HAVE THREADS FOR PEOPLE TO ENJOY A THING
>EVERYTHING MUST HAVE TEN THOUSAND WORD ESSAYS OF DISCUSSION PER POST
>EVEN IF SOMETHING MEETS MY CRITERIA IT STILL DOESN'T COUNT BECAUSE I DON'T LIKE IT
>ONLY I AM ALLOWED TO DECREE WHAT IS AND ISN'T ALLOWED HERE
We get it, you're a snobby little bitch who gets triggered by adaptations of books.
>>
Thanks, OP.
