>mogs your epub reader
the one built into calibre is literally all you'll ever need
>>23618735shit tier ui
>>23618740what the fuck do you need a "ui" for? it's just hitting a button to turn the page.
No customization. Still using AlReader from 2012, but I stopped reading books on the computer after getting a Kindol
>>23618752he's right, the calibre reader is very ugly and looks like it was made in the 90s. The picrel reader from OP is much nicer and costs just as much (zero monies)
>>23618573why would I read books on a desktop
>>23618573one of the main benefits of using an e-reader is that it doesn't destroy your retina over time
>>23619694>>23619699thanks for contributing to the botnet!
>>23618573Just use the the fullscreen mode in any document viewer on your PC, you phonefagging faggot zoomers.>>23619699It's called reducing the brightness and contrast of your monitor. The whites on your monitor shouldn't look brighter than a sheet of paper you're holding in your hand under the usual lighting conditions in your room. If the whites look like some kind of a lamp, then your monitor is too bright.
Evince is all I need and it comes already pre installed
>>23620000>your monitor is too brightYou basement-dwelling midwit have you ever been outdoors? Do you know how bright sun is?
>ereader is 7" and I can read anywhere>desktop screen is 42" and I can read it on my computer chairI don't want a 42" book that's stuck in one place
>>23619699>destroy your retina over timeI got blue light glasses for less than 30 bucks and use xcst to warm the screen to whatever I find appropriate at the time.Literal non issue.
>>23618797>looking at the UI instead of actually reading your book
>>23620039Looking up to the sun is bad for your eyes, yes.
>>23618573it looks pretty nice but I only read on my phone using koreader
I use SumatraPDF and it's actually peak
>>23620039Nigger, he was talking about his retinas being destroyed. So yes, it has to do with brightness and blue light. Reduce your monitor's brightness and contrast, and lower the blue light levels by adjusting the color temperature.
>>23620463I used to use Foxit. It was by far the best and the most customizable PDF reader, until they fucked it up by turning it into an MS Office 2013 wannabe with that degenerate ribbon style of menus. Now I use SumatraPDF. It's bare minimum, lightweight and fast, and stays out of your way.
Mostly on subject, what's a solid .Epub and .Mobi mobile reader? I'm using ReadEra but those files format in such an odd way compared to calibre on desktop and I can't seemingly find any other alternatives to Readera and when asked about if they'll fix the formatting issue they just point to adjusting text size and the like.
>>23621768KOReader
>>23621768I use Libera Pro. it's on F-droid for android, idk if it's available on ios. I used to use ReadEra too, and I haven't looked back
>>23621768Lithium is pretty good on android for epubs
>>23618573e-ink technology?plus i don't want a flashlight in my face, picrel
>>23620000You're still staring at hundreds of light bulbs directly
>>23618735>>23618573I can't find either of these on Google play store.Btw that looks great OP. I've been looking all this time for a middle ground between pdf and epub.
>>23621889The UI is kinda clunky because of its origins but I love it for the dictionary/translate integrations and for the fact it saves highlights/history into files and not some locked down database that you can't access over USB.
>>23623180foliate is for pc, you can use moon+ on android
>>23618573>epubsPDFs with Adobe Acrobat stays winning
>>23623449>moon+Tried it, not good enough. I'm using Readera which is great but it doesn't have something like the OP.
Someone explain eink technology to a retard
>>23624135Electric charge moves pixels' ink particles in or out of position where they stay until the next page turn
>>23624135tiny little balls are painted black on one side, white on the other, and a ghost rotates them to make a picture
>>23618573Wrong cause eink is the appeal of ereaders
>>23624165then how does color ereader work
>>23621768ReadEra is absolutely awesome, especially since it auto-indexes all the readable files it finds and autoformats them too.
>>23618797>very ugly >much nicerClinical homosexuality. I bet you also read exclusively in your favorite "typeface" and ask your boyfriend to use apricot-mango-scented soap before giving him anilingus.
>>23625473Yes, I'm homosexual. Problem Chuddie?
