I just start to read The Hobbit and it's pretty funny. I don't understand how right wing metal band link Lord of Ring to theire music.Oh and also you can write whatever you want about Tolkien here.
>>23623002>right wing metal bandHow is even music politically aligned these days?
The Hobbit is more for kids, the main trilogy is more mature, was a huge hit with college students. Idk about "right wing metal bands" but is probably tied to Germanic cultural identity, as LOTR and Western fantasy draws heavily from Germanic mythology.
>>23623020Are you serious Anon ? Did you ever listen a music in your life ? I take an exemple in underground music but the mainstream music is also politically aligned. For exemple most of the time RAP music is anti-cop. Pop music most of the time pro-LGBT. Also look Eurovision it's not a question of music anymore but /pol/
>>23623046Doesn't stop anyone from enjoying the Hobbit at any age, my dad read it to us when we were kids.
>>23623046>was a huge hit with college studentsCollege students are arbiters of popular cultureLike the British rock band, Muse, or the Wu-Tang ClanIf college kids like it, then it is more likely to go mainstream in a big way
>>23623046It's probably this. Thank anon.
>>23623065>If college kids like it, then it is more likely to go mainstream in a big wayThis goes beyond music and literature, it even extends to politics and protest
>>23623002It set the precedent for the necessity of a burglar in every fantasy band of characters, you just have to have a burglar.
>>23623002I’m definitely right wing and I love metal, but whenever I listen to NSBM (which I enjoy) I can’t help but think that it’s the kind of stuff uruks would listen to, not elves or numenoreans.
What I want to know is what drove bands like Zeppelin and Sabbath to make songs about LOTR.
