I'm very into the naive style of Roald Dahl, Wes Anderson, and "The Wind in the Willows." I'm looking for and longing for those autumnal, rural vibes, from a time before mass information. What do you recommend?

It doesn't have to be autumnal, that was just a touch.

if you want niave, rural and autumnal read "anne of green gables". made me cry. i've read a lot of the "north american tomboy" books and that certainly is the one that best fits what you describe.
