I read to escape the sad reality that is my life and once I’m finished with one book, I get depressed again.
It is truly a sad feeling after finishing a good book
>>23625751That sucks man. Reading is about the only thing that doesnt make me feel like that, it make the mind gooder, so life gets gooder. Read longer books? Read a ton of books at the same time?
same
same, escapism is keeping me aliveas soon as i no longer have any good books i'm done
>>23625751I think it is important to do what one likes doing in life, and for me that's reading and writing, watching, thinking, learning. I do try to balance this with eating well and exercising (walking) --this may sound boring, but what are the alternatives? Various modes of hype?Personally, I'm satisfied that life is the way it is: one can lie down, sit up, stand, even run. One breathes, communicates, opens and closes one's eyes. In the midst of this one can read, experience what the -in many cases- long departed wanted to communicate. This fascinates me; time erodes everything but language.
