Listened to the audiobook on YouTube last night to help me fall asleep. It was so boring. I couldn't fall asleep, I was too distracted by the fact that the guy basically said NOTHING for 2 hours. >I get a tan>I work outThat's it. That's all he says. Doesn't explain why, doesn't give any reasons why it's good for you, just rambles about nothing for two hours while repeating those two lines over and over. Absolute retard.
Never got the chance to read this cause it's unavailable in my country. But I've read enough Mishima books to tell you that his books are all about subtlety and metaphors. Even in books that have seemingly nothing to do with philosophy he sneaks it in. He probably uses working out in the sun as a analogy of his worldview just like Evola uses hiking as an aportunity to talk about his beliefs in "Meditations on the peaks".
>>23979120Congratulations, that's all there is! Don't forget the weird sperm metaphor he makes towards the end, it's integral to your understanding of the text! His fiction is quite good, don't let Sun And Steel be your one and only experience with Mishima
>>23979245beautiful fatty but i feel sorry for them when they lose weight and have all that flabby loose skin hanging so gross
>>23979262You gotta get that grafted off afterwards, which people don't tell you
Well i found it a great essay. Really original and intereting view on pain, japanese traditions and mystic aproach on sport. The final part talking about his first fly on a plane in the army is really cool. Please dont call every book you dont like "absolute retard". Maybe you should read other things. And relax a bit.
