is this Bloom's cryptic way of calling Shakespeare the British gnostic demiurge?
>>23979431>British gnostic demiurgeplease elaborate on what you mean by this
>>23979544idk but I see it on tiktok all the time and I think it's cool so now I larp as one. i'm kind of an edgelord, desu
>>23979431No he just thinks Shakespeare invented self-awareness, changing oneself based on internal thoughts rather than their relations to others and GodIt sounds a bit preposterous but I don't know enough about pre-Shakes lit to refute it
>>23980212Ecclesiastes opens with change based purely on internal reflections
>>23980212It only takes Montaigne to prove Bloom wrong. Also, I don’t understand how one can read so many books over so long a period of time and never develop the most basic aesthetic and linguistic sensibility. The man couldn’t write even pieces of literary criticism with creativity, beauty, and attention to detail, technique and style. It’s as if he had some for of color-blindness to words and their connotations. It would be impossible for him to write about Shakespeare like Mark Van Doren (who wasn’t a poet or fiction writer) or James Wood. And the kind of criticism that Nabokov did, with a great focus on the details of the language use and style of an author, that kind of criticism was never practiced by Bloom in all of his career. It’s bizarre how someone so devoid of any natural talent or capability-created-with-effort could love literature so much and become so famous and respected. All his life’s work were a huge waste of time.
>>23979431More evidence that Robert Frederick is correct and that Shakespeare was a front for the Gnostic Francis Bacon and his team of writers?https://thehiddenlifeisbest.com/
>>23980652I don't get the sucking off of bloom either desu. Would literature have seriously suffered had he not done what he did? He was an overeager schoolboy, nothing more.
>>23979431>is this Bloom's cryptic way of calling Shakespeare the British gnostic demiurge?Who cares? Bloom is a blathering blowhard high on his own farts.>>23979544See pic.
>>23980717>Would literature have seriously suffered had he not done what he did?he had no effect on lit because he was part of the art for art's sake school and was combating the english phd lesbians who were trying to use literature as a vehicle for political change. The lesbians won btw.
>>23980830I kind of wish neither side won
>>23979431I'm just too stupid for Shakespeare. I don't fucking get it. I keep trying and its just not working. I guess ill stick with chaucer
>>23979544Not OP but gnostics say that the demiurge created humans therefore by attributing the same deed to Shakespeare, the circumlocution is made. In other words, another jew created another idol.
