I went to my local bookstore and in the fiction side of things, except for the classics and self help section, most of the shit was aimed at females. The latest books they were shilling were all clearly aimed at females. Don't men read books these days?

None of you read books anyway. It’s a nonissue
Fiction has always been female-dominated. Fiction is for women and children. Only in the early 20th century did it become acceptable for grown men to read novels.
>>23982036Books written by women attract women. What a shocking revelation.
>>23982036Because men think they are too manly to read some stupid book. What are they, gays, to read some fucking words on a piece of paper? are you insane?Anyways, it's much easier to write another shitty 4/10 romance about taming a "monster" by an unpopular and insecure highschool girl. This is the equivalent of mac donalds amongst books. Or pop songs in music. It's just the thing that sells the most and which is also the easiest to sell. You can make the point for everything in this world - why the mediocre, easy-to-digest media and art are always the most popular.>>23982192yeah because it's not like men are writing them too, right? You can't even imagine how big of a cult emerges around a male romance book author. There are 2 main groups of consumers, the first one are teenage girls, and the second one are 30 year old+ women. Both have very similar tastes though.
