is this guy just trying to figure out what we can know about Being despite the straitjacket Kant put on him? is he like some kind of "well what if we think about thinking? what if thinking can give its own foundation? what if that had the power to envelop everything?" kind of guy? because I don't know how else Hegel is supposed ot make sense unless he's forming some kind of "last resort" strategy to a philosophical theory of everything. its very difficult to see what he's trying to do and/or/compared with where he is actually situated on the philosophical landscape.

Supreme esoteric Kantian Hegel
>Recently Kant has opposed to what has usually been called logic another, namely, a transcendental logic. What has here [Science of Logic] been called objective logic would correspond in part to what with him is transcendental logic.
>>
he tries to subvert kant by conflating or extending how we think-sublation with what the world is--weltgeist, what i got from him is that there's ultimately no difference btn metaphysics and epistemology, there's nothing we can't know if we postpone it to the uture and call it absolute knowledge compared to kant who makes distinctions btn epistemology--reasoning--the categories/space/time, and metaphysics--substance--noumena/phenomena
>>
>>24087951
I just don't buy the whole Absolute Idealism thing.
Seems to much like Aquinas.
>>
He posits Geist as noumena
>>
>>24087951
>Being, pure Being, without any further determination--

Logic IS metaphysics; there being intensive degrees of apodictic availability of the 'noumenal' befits Man's position as Absolute Finite mirror of the True Infinity of the Godhead, akin to but not It as such. That noetic field nonetheless interpenetrates and binds All, such that to the extent we move with thought, there is nothing beyond our grasp in any naive metaphysician, empiricist, or Eldritch sense.
>>
>>24087951
like, are you trying to say that he's a cross between Berkeley and an antirealist Plato?
>>
>>24087951
apparently this pseud makes the dialectical movement as essence as difficult to understand as possible by taking the perfectly sound tradition of metaphysical vocabulary and brutally fucking it in the ass. example:
>universal
>particular
>... singular?!?!
So... what the fuck is the singular, and how is it different from the particular?
>ohhh uhhhh... if you look its use in the syllogism... its like a smaller genus compared to the larger genus of the universal
Oh, instead of coming up with a new word to distinguish "larger" universals from "smaller" universals, or better yet using the terminology that already existed (e.g. genera and species), you decided to butcher an ALREADY EXISTENT WORD and basically make it mean THE OPPOSITE of what it meant for 2000 fucking years?!?!
>yes. now buy my book goy

no wonder people can't hack this guy. what a fucking dickhead.
>>
Well, I'm the Honky Kant Man, I'm a philosopher bold
With a mind full of ideas, a story to be told
Of noumena and phenomena, the essence and the form
Of reason and of passion, weathering every storm

I'm the Honky Kant Man, I'm the king of the bar
Debating metaphysics with the locals, near and far
From Hegel to Hume, I'll dissect every claim
And leave you bewildered, confused, and ashamed

I ponder the sublime, the beautiful and the true
While others chase their pleasures, I seek the grand view
Of freedom and of reason, of justice and of right
I'll argue till the break of dawn, and challenge every fight

I'm the Honky Kant Man, I'm the king of the bar
Debating metaphysics with the locals, near and far
From Hegel to Hume, I'll dissect every claim
And leave you bewildered, confused, and ashamed

Some talk of love, others of gain
But I talk ontology, and the existential pain
Of being in this world, a fleeting, transient state
A shadow on the wall, awaiting a grim fate

I'm the Honky Kant Man, I'm the king of the bar
Debating metaphysics with the locals, near and far
From Hegel to Hume, I'll dissect every claim
And leave you bewildered, confused, and ashamed

So if you see me sittin' there, with a book in my hand
Don't try to start a conversation, you won't understand
I'm lost in contemplation, of the noumenal and the seen
The Honky Kant Man, the philosopher supreme

Synthesis of Universal and Particular. It's from even before Hegel, but you wouldn't get it.
>>
>be Hegel
>be a vulgar lawyer
>try to pass as legitimate rationalist and scientist
>cannot understand Newtonian physics
>it's make it or break it for you
>get a bombastic idea: there will never be a new planet discovered
>a brand new planet appears right afterwards
>be forever a joke among intelligent people
>>

before Hegel all you had was universal and particular (individual). All Hegel did was butcher the terminology. crossing a bigger universal with a smaller universal doesn't magically lead to an individual. that's the dumbest shit I ever heard.
>>
>>24092622
>before Hegel all you had was universal and particular (individual
You are a retard that never read Kant then. Good day, smoothbrain.
>>
>>24092648
What do you think the problem of universals was, you fantastical moron? That existed for thousands of years before Kant. And it was a contrast between universals and particulars and always had been framed as such. If the origin of the butchered terminology was Kant, then he's doing violence to the tradition as well, and Hegel has only perpetuated it. When Aristotle located ousia in the tode ti, he wasn't speaking of a universal or a form, or even some truncated version of the two. He was speaking of the particular, which is synonymous with the individual (this horse, Socrates, etc.). Even Wikipedia and Encyclopedia Britannica affirm this.

Bro quit sperging out just because you got filtered by Hegel because you didn't read Kant. Literally just go read Kant's Transcendental Analytic. All we be made clear. Shanti.
>>
>>24092613
Dude literally initiated into the Illuminatenorden. But you wouldn't know about that.
>>
>>24092686
You don't even understand the problem of universals, I have zero faith in your recommendations.
>sperging out
Philosophy is the autistic profession bar none. Did you forget where you were? Moron.
>>
>>24092749
Cope.
>>
>>24092753
You failed philosophy 101. That is a big cope, indeed.
>>
>>24092820
You're big mad because you got filtered. It's ok. Literally just go read Kant so you'll get it and stop seething. sheesh.
>>
>>24092829
I got filtered because I understand basic ontology and Kant and Hegel clearly don't (and neither do you). And that's fine with me.
>>
>>24092613
i would like to take this moment to remind everyone that hegel believed that the natives of the americas were physically weaker and smaller than europeans and that the animals and plants were less nutritious because it would have served his system better if they were.
>>
>>24088420
He doesn't.
>>
>>24092613
In one lecture of his, he does call the Pythagoreans backwards for saying there are ten planets because ten is the Pythagorean perfect number. It is surprisingly modern though they also include things like the moon and Milky Way as planets.

READ Hegel's Ladder by HS Harris if you're lost. It's on slsk and probably libgen and probably intitle:pdf index.of too.
