At most he could be Stannis' puppet. He's like 5, which is a ridiculous age for a character to have if you want him to have any agency at all. And this is in a series where half the major characters are in their mid teens.

I have been coping that is been only a couple years away for literally ten years now. At this point I am much more confident that after House of the Dragon and Knight of the Seven Kingdoms flops, WB collapses and some other fantasy slop gets adapted Gurm will feel the motivation to actually just power through and get Winds out for his legacy and release one of the biggest books ever. At the current pace and motivation level he seems to have I have absolute zero faith that it will possibly come out in 2-3 years.
