Anzia Yezierska. She was a Jewish immigrant near the turn of the 20th century to New York City. She wrote a bunch of short stories and a novel about the experience of being a Jewish immigrant woman growing up in an Orthodox family. They are very good, and they also don't paint the best light of Judaism. Her work is extremely critical of rabbinical Jewish patriarchs who spend all day "studying the Torah" and hanging out with other rabbinical Jewish patriarchs, while the female members of the Jewish Orthodox family are forced to slave away in factory jobs to provide the means of living for their Jewish Orthodox family. You could tell Anzia had very bitter feelings towards her father and Judaism as it suppressed her ability to go to school and study literature. Yezierska died poor and forgotten by the literary community that once praised her at the turn of the century. She has recently been revived by female feminist Jewish scholars in academia. She's a great read.

I also remembered that Joshua Cohen's novel Witz is extremely Jewish yet interesting. It's essentially Gravity's Rainbow but for Jews. I really enjoyed it. You learn a lot about Judaism and Jewish culture. The novel is also funny. Both /pol/tards and Jews will thoroughly enjoy it, albeit for different reasons.
