I buy whatever is cheapest. It just a book...
My newest book has a page that seem to have been eaten by rats.

>find one-man printer that copies and pastes multi-volume public domain books, shrinks the font down to where it’s barely readable, then prints them as massive, single-volume paper backs
>on the back of every book he prints is a picture of himself dressed like a Lazy Town character and a link to his YouTube channel
>vanishes from Amazon after a few months
I wonder what happened to that guy. It’s thanks to him that I have the complete Summa Theologica. Only cost 20 bucks.

sometimes a book isnt available from the usual suspects, so you have to buy it, dedrm and upload (or buy physical, scan and upload).

I used to do this but then I’d wind up with hundreds of distracting typos because my book is just a hasty reprint of a pdf

Are there any ways to streamline this process? I got a book I want to convert to epub, but not available from the usual places.

Is there really a big difference in different editions of a book besides the cover?
>>
Dangerous game friendo, I bought Hegel’s PoS for 8$, the pages are as big as an atlas’ and the type is 8 point if that. Virtually unreadable.

Yes, on New Advent.

i made something like this and bought a $15 selfie stick that also acts as a tripod (ill take a picture when i get home). listen to an audiobook or audiodrama while taking pictures since no matter what it gets repetitive. im autistic about formatting so i use gimagereader for ocr and sigil to deal with raw xhtml to create my ideal epub but if you dont care about fulltext search or copypaste you can just throw the images in a folder (with a folder for each chapter and names starting with numbers in ascending order), zip it up and rename it from file.zip to file.cbz

why do they make these?
I mean for real. It's just for the meme potential? The editors didn't realize how shit they look?

judging a book by its cover. shame on you.
>>
I like it, it's kind of a wooden stake against pseuds. Good luck trying to act supercillious while söy freud gazes at you from the cover. Bonus points if the translation is actually decent.

you don't have to show yourself as stingy person. just post your nose instead.

I like books as physical objects
For me the smell of the book is important
