>>24111358reading is an act of penetration. writers read. nuff sed.
Aristotle solves this issue in the thirtieth book of Problems, chapter 1. Tl;dr - we have a crazy juice in us, black bile. Some people have way too much, they become stuporous or maniacal. Artists (and philosophers) have just enough to benefit from its effects without going full psychotic, at least not 24/7. Although many such do have full breaks at times, as he describes. It’s like booze - 4 or 5 drinks probably makes you “smarter” at least in some ways. This is how geniuses like myself and Aristotle feel 24/7. Also the crazy juice is full of wind and it inflates your penis, that’s why artists and philosophers struggle with lechery. And the crazy juice has paradoxical effects (elation, despair) which le artiste tries to counteract with heavy drinking.Seems accurate to me.

Homo/Homo-adjacent (like me) grew up always feeling different from other people, this intensifies as you get older. There's always that question "why am I different than other people" and you try to understand others to fit in as best you can. And unlike race or sex you can successfully mask yourself if you learn well enough imo. Mishima talks about this in confessions funnily enough. I think all Homo-esque writers/readers come to this conclusion, whether you consciously realize it or not
>>24115831he's actually patron saint of bicyclists. are all cyclists homos?
>>24111380you mean bi-curious?
all good artists are intellectually bisexual
>>24114485That's your viewpoint of it because you want to perceive it that way probably because it turns you on more to read viewing it from that perspective. Most people view reading as studying, learning or researching, or for entertainment purposes.

>>24112391So if I didn’t like Sailor Who Fell From Grace With The Sea and I don’t like disturbed protagonists or romance I won’t like Mishima?

My personal theory is that there are simply many gays and bisexuals around the world but they are discouraged from considering such a side of themselves or to speak up about what they find there.
>>24112391No. Start with Patriotism, then Confessions of a Mask. Patriotism is Mishima explaining in clear and vivid language what he believes in. Confessions of a Mask is very close to his own life, and when you read his other work, you'll recognize characters and events from his life. After that, read whichever in whatever order, and don't miss the big ones.
>>24117292No. Not at all. Not a single work of his.
