Post your notebooks: what you write with, why you carry them or what you put in it, just post about portable writing solutions.

I just set up my current pocket notebook. I think it's kinda cool cause you can tighten the strap by turning the pen like a windlass and then setting the pocket clip on the last page that you were on.
And then to take it off all you have to do is unhook both the ends of the bootstrap from each other.

I miss carrying notebooks but not going to bother because phone. Can't say I miss having the notebooks pile up, got a good sized box filled with notebooks that demoralize me just thinking about sorting through them.
>like a windlass
That is a windlass, most simple sort but still a windlass.

What amp?

I'm not a poseur pseud that has to walk around with a gay ass notebook and write down with my sharpie things I think in my head. When I want to write something down I take out my phone and use the notes app. Grow up.

Fender Rumble 15

Get a better amp.

I use a notepad app in my smartphone
Nearly always with me, easy to access, don't have another thing to carry around, all the pages I want, and I hate physical writing

works for me

I'm planning on stalking fb marketplace for people dumping their amps in the coming months

I was just giving you a hard time. Rumble 15 does a good job within its limits. Played a show with one through a refrigerator sized 2x18 cab once, it was good fun.

I write on my ipad
I love notebooks, but it's not practical to carry one anymore

that sounds insane, did it sound good?

some of us take notes in the theater or in the concert hall, not a place you can whip the phone out

i use notes app in bed though

besides, it's always that my phone's on 5% and I'm waiting for the most important email of my life or some shit, can't deploy it every time I see a weird archetype on the street
>>
Yes, I carry a notebook because my work doesn't allow phones.
>>
the problem w taking notes on phone is that it's annoying and difficult to type on the touchscreen and also the files are fairly small text that build up and accumulate and aren't too suitable for reviewing unlike notebooks. my phone notes ended up in oblivion so i stopped and use only notebook or cards

Why don't you use a tablet?
They're about the size of a notebook, and you can export your notes in pdf
>>
I carry a pocket notebook everywhere I go and write whatever random shit I think of in it. A lot of grocery lists too.
What blows my mind is seeing people actually paying money for them and collecting them. Field Notes is the funko pop of notebooks.
I make my own. It's just a few sheets of paper and cardstock stapled together. I ain't paying for that.

Notebooks can be as expensive as paperbacks. Who would buy such a thing unless you're an artists who uses it to draw
>>

You sound like a sourpuss

I like the strap you have on your notebook. When I get around to it, I usually write on my computer or ipad, but for brainstorming and part of my outlining process, I stick to notebooks. Right now I’m using a notepad which is easy to flip through and ideal for quickly jotting down ideas.

Holy crap thank you. Overpriced and hawked on any video about pocket notebooks. Much cheaper alternatives including just making them yourself. I don't make any myself, but what would you need in order to do that?

I'm similar. I work in places like nukes and steel mills. Don't need my phone getting destroyed or crapped up.

Cheap composition books are the best because they have a completely disposable feeling to them so you have no reservations about writing or doodling anything down into them.
>>
I haven't got mine for this year, but I used to use the leuchtturm notepad with dotted lines. 1) So that I could draw and 2) If I needed to make a note, tare it and give it to someone

It was a basement show so sound quality was not a high priority, just needed a setup which everyone playing could work with since there was no way anything more than small stuff could be switched between acts, stairs were at the opposite end of the room so audience would have had to leave the basement to change out stuff like amps/drums. But I would have no problem with playing that setup anytime and could get a sound from it I was happy with although I would never deal with hauling that 2x18 around. Lots of those small amps are quite good and it is their speakers which limit them. Wire up an output jack on yours and try it out with some other cab, might find you like it and can go the cheaper route of a cab instead of an amp.
