How is "companies are gonna keep fucking us over!!!" not grounded? You're literally seeing it happen more and more, it's the reason literature is in this current sorry booktok state this board complains about constantly.
What I believe you meant is that you want a more introspective work on the human experience, soul and nature rather than a work detailing societal problems and the harms of our current age. Read Mishima and Dazai even if the translations are a little sticky, third worlders like japanese and russians tend to write some depressing shit. The french did too when their country was in crisis.
