So a few years ago I went onto a Reddit whatever about helping people find books they couldn't remember the name of. I got banned for not having a title. Yesterday I was talking with some friends and one joked that if I asked 4 Chan it would take a minute, I would get called a bunch of slurs, but someone would know it so here I am taking a chance.

Its a fantasy book, the first in a series, written by peirs Anthony (I think). A guy decides to leave his family home to go on an adventure. He has crackers and cheese, talks with his dad, and heads out. He knows two spells, fireball and can turn indivisible. When he's invisible he cannot see. The cover of the book was artwork of a blue robed guy with a staff(?) in the middle of the day. Pic unrelated

I put your description in perplexity.ai and it gave me A Spell for Chameleon by Piers Anthony in the Xanth series. Briefly skimming the wikipedia page it seems correct.
>>
I do not know how to do squat on this site so sorry but it's not that. In the book he left because he wanted to, in that he is forced out.

I have one of these I've been looking for. A self help type book released around the time of Frasier that taught you to be a pretentious jerk. There were lists of what music to listen to, French phrases to pepper into conversation. Probably impossible to find now.

>I'm looking for a book written by Piers Anthony
>Yes, I am too stupid to google Piers Anthony books
GOOD MORNING SAAR, HOW IS WEATHER IN DELHI TODAY?

It really does sound like A Spell for Chameleon, or perhaps a mixed memory of that and later books in the series.
If you're sure it isn't though, just look at all of the non-Xanth books by Piers Anthony listed here and look up plot summaries for them until you find it:

There are covers for the Xanth books available too if you want to search for your blue robed man:

Ohhh. Thank you. So I don't think it's Pierce Anthony anymore. Sadly that was the only real lead I had. Accept cat as thanks

I have nothing to contribute, though I wish I could help. Just wanted to say you seem like a nice poster and I hope you get to find the book. Here's a cat for you

They are beautiful, thank you

When did you read it? Do you remember the artstyle of the cover?
>>
>>24114678
I wanna say it was about 2010. The art style was honestly just really generic fantasy cover. Something like this. But I'm the book in looking for he's kinda just standing on a dirt road with grass around him
