Schopenhauer was a genius-level IQ swimming in an ocean midwits. He was extremely frustrated by this in his life, for example, how no one seemed to understand that Hegel was a fraud. Most of philosophy during that time was just midwits denying the fact, one way or the other, that the universe was purely deterministic and that free will was fake; Schopenhauer slapped people in the face with the truth and it tended to hurt fee-fees. If he were alive today he’d be banned from most social media platforms and would not be able to get commercial publishing for the same reason. Our world is utterly uninterested in anything that doesn’t make us feel good.
