It's literally fine, if you get lost just re-read the paragraph. Take notes if it helps. It doesn't matter if it takes you a long time to read. You might get faster with practice.

What are you reading? Not all works are created equal.
>>
Make notes. Just write down what you read in your own words.

read the summary/synopsis first. give you the space to understand somewhat before jumping in. dont want spoilers? too bad. learn how to not need them

Put your heart into it, not just your head. You should actually WANT to read whatever you're reading.

I'm newbie in reading. I always wanted to finish a book but I simply lost, my mind wander off and then I lose interest. I have a bunch of book in my library collection that planned to read/finish but never do but I recently just finished White Night by Dostoyevsy. It's very short but I managed to finish it. What helped me the most is to read it while listening to the audiobook version. I basically just use the tts feature and while I also read at the same pace. It forced me to lock in 100%. Currently I'm reading Before The Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi and I'm hooked.
>Use audiobook/tts while reading
>Read fun and short book
>Progressive overload by reading longer book and longer reading session while also reading for fun.
Worked for me.
