>>24120200Bout time that little retarded faggotry grew up

>hey guys, I just had a CRAZY idea>what if Calvin has schizophrenia and Hobbes was just a hallucination?>by the way have you guys heard of Rick and Morty?
>>24120211Phew.
Is that a judith butler reference?
>>24119253That's true in the humanities and soft sciences.
>>24120624But not literature?
>>24120583Nah, Hobbes is objectively able to affect the physical world independent of Calvin. We see this multiple times throughout the comic, most notably when he ties Calvin to a chair, with even his parents acknowledging that it should have been impossible for Calvin to do so himself and wondering how he managed it. The only thing worth discussing if he's some sort of ghost or spirit possessing the toy, magical stuffed toy that comes to life, a shapeshifter, or something else entirely, perhaps an alien?
>>24119253Calvin was never right but was also never wrong, which was the point and why Hobbes was there.
>>24121499self-bondage
>>24121499I imagine it's more a case of "I need to make a new strip every single day and bending the rules works for this one thank god." followed by, "You know what, that thing I did can be repeated."
>>24120583>>24121499This sort of concrete thinking has to be autism. Watterson did not care whether Hobbes was "real" or "imaginary", and neither should you. That's not what the point of the strip is. It's like looking at a surrealist painting and saying "I don't get it, how are those rocks floating in the air? Are there special fast-rotating superconductors involved? Is it some sort of optical illusion, perhaps?"
>>24120211:)
>>24121499I wrote a paper about how Hobbes was an interdimensional alien. It's probably in the garage somewhere.
>>24120168Watterson didn’t make this.
>>24121499>Calvin is in actuality a supremely gifted reverse-Houdini.>But he's not in conscious control over his gift.>It manifests only through his "Hobbes" persona.
calvin and hobbes is the most cynical faculty door bait
>>24121754>t. 19 years in a cubicle and just got passed over for promotion for the 19th time.
>>24121754>faculty door baitWhat the fuck does this mean. That it's bait to get faculty to post it on a door? That's actually a turn of phrase I've not seen before. So, fuck you and well done.
>>24121784His coworker who is now his supervisor has a Calvin and Hobbes comic taped up on their door.
>>24119346No. When sleeping with someone body hair/fur actually keeps you cooler since it allows air flow, there is no airflow between skin and skin.
