heaven is the most retarded part of monotheist religions
>>24121248more of her I need it PLEASE
>>24121254this is why you will never go to heaven
>monotheistbut its a thing in polytheist religions too idiot
>>24121309polytheism is inherently retarded irregardless despite thoughever
>>24121248heaven regarded by theologians and priests is extremely brilliant, but heaven as regarded by lay-people is indeed absolutely retarded
Heaven solves the problem of evil
what is the point of heaven? like we are going to be there forever? that sounds terrible
>>24121248Sure, slightly less retarded than your post

>>24121445ok, how do the priests and theologians view heaven compared to the lay-man, even briefly? genuinely curious as I'm not too familiar.
>>24121248, >>24121254simjamon_ on Instagram (apparently)
>>24121248It's the part that makes the most sense to be honest.Isn't the whole drive for religion the fact that it makes it easier to cope with mortality, if you know that it's not the end and there is more? Bonus points for your suffering in the mortal world paying off in the afterlife
>>24121445Christianity is much worse. It is too humanistic.
>>24121525>Isn't the whole drive for religion the fact that it makes it easier to cope with mortalityNo, I actually think the whole drive for religion is because it makes it easier to cope with unfairness or injustice. The concept of hell being the strongest case, that you sometimes see atheists hoping for the existence of it for particularly evil people. "Oh I wish there is hell for this person who cheated/robbed/raped/murdered someone!" is a sentiment so strong that I believe it's the entire drive for the belief in the first place. How can someone evil leave this earth unpunished? This can't be, people WILL devise whole beliefs entirely on this cope (and seething) around the unfairness of life. "An evil man cannot simply die peacefully surrounded by his loving family, he MUST go to a place to be eternally punished in my sadistic fantasy that I conjured up in my mind."I think people really underestimate how strong the feeling of resentment can be. And I do believe people can reach states of utter delirium when filled with a sense of injustice, enough to actually believe in something like hell for all the bad bad people of this world.
