The downfall of America has transformed me from a normie shitlib into a utopian communist in about a year. I never thought it would happen, but I've seen my error. I still don't have any realistic hope of a better world, but at least now I can dream about it.

If it took only a year to enact that change in you, you either have very low IQ and/or you are so weak in character that the moment something doesn't go your way you want to burn it all down to spite your beters.

I honestly just see it as adult tantrums, its basically what it is. Adults physically but children mentally, throwing their toys out when they are told that its bed time.
This is nothing more than the dying gasp of the leftist ideology as we know it.
>>
>>25026763
well the main problem with leftism is that socialism doesn't work. it's just objectively worse economically.

those subgenres peaked back then because once youtube started tagging all the songs vaporwave ppl were ripping off it kinda killed the vibe. bon chic isn't just a downpitched mixtape of 80s synthpop tho, it's all new compositions, but judging from the videos i'm guessing highly ai involved production

Because every socialist country up to now has been founded in non-democratic countries by megalomaniancs tricking the already sheepified masses into thinking they're better than the guy they're replacing. No socialist country can really be socialist without democratic government, since otherwise there is absolutely no way to ensure leadership acts in the interest of the people.

It was pushed by the "socialists" like the crippling tax policies and suppression of speech. Sweden was the worst of them all, explicitly Marxist with the largest youth brainwashing projects in the world including communes turning generations into robots who invited mass immigration on a scale not seen anywhere else before. Marxists all over the world spoke of the Swedish communes as the forefront of revolutionary international Marxism. The only positive is they went through this early so the reactionary anti-Marxist and anti-immigration tendencies also arose earlier. Mass immigration destroyed the small benefits you got from the suffocating social programs so popular opinion is slowly turning against the entire project.

Denmark was always the most reasonable and laid back Scandinavian country. Its communes like Christiania were considered more "anarcho-syndicalist" than explicitly Marxist, they weren't trying to change the world just smoke weed in peace. I visited every few years since around 2000 and every visit the decay due to mass immigration was obvious. The social fabric that allowed the place to exist slowly disappeared until every building was corporate owned and everyone hanging around was a third world criminal trying to scam tourists. This social fabric that used to allow Christiania is the real "socialism" that the oppressive commie policies try to take credit for while in reality destroying it. It predates Marx and "socialism" by around 700 years.

Would you marry a slut? My friend is about to get married to a fantastic man. They both agreed to be honest about their past, particularly their sexual past. This is freaking out my friend who was a real slut before he settled down—and I’m talking asshole up to gloryholes slut. That phase ended about 6-7 years ago when he matured and realized lots of easy sex wasn’t the answer. He dated a few men and then landed on a great guy. My friend has shared (and shown) that he’s sexually experienced but has never told his fiancé about everything. My friend is terrified. He’s absolutely in love with this guy and wants so desperately to be completely honest—but it may scare the guy away.

How honest would you be?

Was on a run with Spotify playing random songs. Every song was one i hadn't heard before. I had been thinking about the Y2K aesthetic making a resurgence and the frutiger aero aesthetic. The song reminded me of music videos and movies from around 2000-2001. It also reminded of the water and those beach themed video games. As i was running, i started to form a vague picture of scenes. Not fully formed, like they were blurry. More a feeling or a vibe than a clear picture of what i wanted.

Tell her to be entirely honest about the fact that she does have a promiscious history (although make it very clear to her to absolutely never go in to explict detail of her sexual escapades. Lest she traumatize the poor guy) Handle her confession of this with extreme sentivity and treat the fact that this is a common (and debilitating) insecurity for guys with an immense amount of importance.

Pushed to the edge of despair or hysteria by interpersonal failure and loneliness, I have been experimenting with various methods of actively fleeing from the experience of my own life, after mundane escapism stopped working. Lucid dreaming seems cool but I don't have the schedule or the patience for the extensive dream journaling plus WILD/MILD sessions plus naps. Instead I do a halfway sort of thing where I detach my awareness from my physical body and move around inside myself, like the inside of my own body is a vast space and I am a small point flying inside of it. This produces a numbing, head-spinning, drowsy feeling and makes my body move partially as if on autopilot. The feeling is strangely sexual in nature and causes extreme arousal for brief, random periods of a few seconds. Eventually I drift into sleep while doing this and have very vivid dreams. On a couple occasions I have also felt a jolting sensation rather than a gradual numbing as I detach.

Wouldn't all gays take it up the ass inside a gloryhole? Maybe if this was a hetero couple I would understand this comment, but with gays, aren't they all sluts? It is basically what you put up with when you end up in an entirely sex-based 'relationship' with a gay.

>The Tocqueville effect (also known as the Tocqueville paradox)[1] is the phenomenon in which, as social conditions and opportunities improve, social frustration grows more quickly.[2][3]
Anyone else here ever reflect on how ridiculously difficult the lives of our ancestors must have been?

Technically, it's not like everyone pre-modern era was suffering all the time. But you have those farming villages getting fucked over by famine or the little kids in Mesoamerica who literally lived off corn and ended up getting diseases that are only possible from having a diet entirely made up of corn. Crazy stuff
>>
>>25027391
As someone who has lived in poverty before, shitty living situations don't make you suffer all the time, you just get used to it. The human brain is wired around detecting actual threats, not caring about comfort all the time. A shitty living situation will just cause the brain to shut off around the shittiness because you still have to subconsiously watch out for the wild animals and barbarians.
>>
>>25027400
If you're in a really dogshit situation like homelessness, part of your brain is like, "I need food, I need water, I need shelter, I need soap..." These are pretty easy things to obtain.
But if your brain is going, "I need social connections", "I need community", "I need belonging", "I need artistic fulfillment...", these are 10x harder to accomplish nowadays.
You would think the second category should be less painful because it's less important, but our brains don't see it that way.
>>
>>25027410
Being homeless because you're a useless drunktard is not the same as collective poverty. In collective poverty society remains exactly the same. There will be people getting all the cake and Others will be taking all the Ls and people will Walk around the neighbourhood, look at the poor people houses, think nothing, and go on with their days. The normie brain does not care about the others less it benefits him.

I am so done with everything. I abruptly ended talking with this woman that I liked. Now I am pain and I am losing it. It hurts like hell. Fuck! I never knew that this love bullshit cuts so deep even though we never met. Why why I started talking to her?! Whatever peace I had left is now ruined. Regret, regret, regret.

Now my friends are not even picking up calls. I have no one the talk.
>>
>>25027423
When I was a kid we were one of the richer families in town. Still mostly ate potatoes, drove 20 year old broken cars and couldn't afford luxuries like tourism but there were no real threats, no real barbarians unlike now. The barbarism we had was formalized with strict rules, fist fights were about defending some vague idea of honor, never over money. No serious theft ever. No opioids or speed. The consequence of failing school would have been working in a factory, which I already did and it was fine.
I doubt humanity has ever been worse off than right now despite never being richer. Dying from corn disease is not that bad.

Video games are really addicting because if you put the effort in they just give you the reward, it's that simple. If video games were designed like real life then your character would just randomly fall over dead in the middle of levels for no reason, or lose half his inventory for no reason, or his stats would fall at random. Don't be surprised young men are just spending their lives on games now, it's so much better than real life.

The scary thing about these findings of Egyptian lightbulbs, Babylonian batteries, Greek automatons is not that they existed, it's that a technological advancement akin if not superior to ours did not save these ancient civilizations from rotting away and turning into dumpsters of crisis and degeneracy, but few philosophers have ever adressed this problem. I hardly believe that anyone even cares at this point.

Herds of reindeer move across
Miles and miles of golden moss,
Silently and very fast.

My fear isn't that the girl will say no, it's that she will say yes. I need to find a girl who's fine doing 80% of the talking, or is fine with us not talking much. Which reminds me, I actually did have an ex who broke up with me because I spent too much time reading and listening to music, and got upset I wasn't spending more time on her.
>>
I think I avoid reading philosophy because I will not actively carry it into my life or thoughts in a meaningful way. But something inside must yearn for more because there is dissatisfaction. And it is not like I have people in my life who would mock me for reading something even slightly more highbrow.
>>

Are the people who post on /sffg/ also posting in the 'high' literature / philosophy threads? or is it some sorta self contained group
>>
>>25027755
Everyone is constantly reading and applying philosophy. It's a relatively modern concept to have this stately tome where people prattle on about being and nothingness or whatever. A lot of philosophy is conversational, in the style of a dialogue or a play. A lot of it is also short, not shallow, but brief. There are two main ways to get into philosophy: reading essays/works, and reading books then reading supplementary materials to unpack it.

What do you feel dissatisfied with?
>>
>>25027788
It's the straight male containment thread
