i've done grad level marketing courses, it's not that conspiratorial, at least not the content of the ads themselves. the ethnographic research, customer segmentation, and lifetime value vs acquisition costs stuff might be tho depending on how paranoid u are, but ultimately all that stuff is just to understand ur customer. really ur trying to communicate the value ur product provides to the target customer. believe it or not products and services improve people's lives which is why we have products and services instead of dirt.
